Her Tentacles 109

Chapter 109: Extra 11

Situ Jin’s rare sentimentality was soon dispersed by the commotion outside.

She was startled from her sleep by the sound of her phone vibrating. The phone had already been handed to her by Xuan Zhu. By the time she had answered, she had also heard the sound of the window shattering.

The curtains were blown open by the wind from outside—

The red moon had at some point returned to normal.

Her doomsday thoughts had not lasted long before they were shattered by reality. She had to face the relationship between her and Xuan Zhu after everything had returned to normal.

When she saw the silver figure unhesitatingly standing in front of her every time danger approached, Situ Jin, from behind, her gaze gradually shifted from dazed realization to firm resolve.n.

“Situ.”

In the middle of it, Young Master Ye had tried to approach her and take her to a safer rear, but Situ Jin had unhesitatingly refused. She had stood behind Xuan Zhu from beginning to end.

It seemed to be certain.

If even she couldn’t block the danger in front of her, then no matter where she went, it would no longer be a safe place for her.

And so, when Situ Jin looked at Xuan Zhu, that young man from the Ye family was looking at her from not far away, until the danger had slowly subsided.

When Shu Yao arrived in this area.

Situ Jin finally let out a slight sigh of relief. And it was at this moment that she finally turned her head and wanted to look back, to casually say a few words to send that fiery gaze away.

But when she turned her head.

That Young Master Ye was already gone.

She was slightly stunned for a moment, and after thinking about what it meant, she couldn’t help but curve her lips.

When she greeted the morning with her good friend on that lawn, it was the most complicated moment for Situ Jin’s mood.

Human joys and sorrows were not shared.

For most people, the most dangerous life-and-death crisis had disappeared, and they could finally return to their ordinary, peaceful, and happy daily lives.

But for Situ Jin—

She actually preferred the apocalypse of that limited red moon period.

She didn’t have to consider the future of her family, she didn’t have to think about how to inherit her father’s industry, and she didn’t have to maintain relationships with anyone. She could quietly stay in her room, and even if she spent all day with a mermaid, no one would say anything.

But in the normal world, it wouldn’t work.

Those troubles of choosing a spouse, the sorrows of life, all came knocking on her door again.

She sat quietly next to Shu Yao, and from the way she was sleeping on the lawn, she guessed that her friend must have suffered a lot during this time.

Thinking back now.

Yaoyao, who had originally just wanted to live a normal and peaceful life, had in the end turned into this. She didn’t know if, when she looked back at the beginning, she would regret getting to know Lin Ran.

Situ Jin’s thought had not appeared for long.

She got the answer.

When she got up and took Xuan Zhu to change clothes, and at the same time brought breakfast over to eat, she saw the two familiar figures kissing on the lawn under the golden morning glow. A look of shock flashed in her eyes, followed by a sudden realization.

She looked back at Xuan Zhu, and then smiled and rushed to the two who had just finished kissing:

“Wow!”

“When did you two get back together? Why didn’t you tell me? What good does it do you to hide it from me!”

As Shu Yao was extremely embarrassed, and her face rarely showed the true emotions of the past, and she stammered to explain the story of her meeting Lin Ran again, Situ Jin put on a look of not letting her off easily, and interrogated this couple whom she had witnessed all the way.

Tell me more.

And give me a little more courage, a little courage to make the choice I want most.

According to Situ Jin’s plan, the first step was to draw a clear line with those blind date partners, especially Young Master Ye. The second step was to let her family increase their goodwill toward Xuan Zhu, and to slowly change things bit by bit.

But neither of these two followed her plan.

The one from the Ye family suddenly revealed that he felt he was still young and didn’t want to consider marriage too early. The news reached the Situ family, and Situ Jin’s parents looked at each other for a long time—

They still wanted to ask Situ Jin if there was a problem with their relationship.

But Xuan Zhu followed her in, and her face was very pale. It made the Situ couple think that she had been injured in the previous battle and had not recovered yet, and they asked with concern if she needed any special treatment.

Xuan Zhu shook her head weakly, and through the breathable and comfortable cloak that Situ Jin had made for her with a special fabric, she covered her stomach and answered calmly:

“It’s nothing. I might just be pregnant.”

The Situ couple: “Huh?”

Situ Jin: “Huh???”

Xuan Zhu glanced at her, and silently moved her eyes away. Her gaze was as resentful as it could be, but it also revealed a kind of “it’s okay, if you’re not willing to admit it, I won’t say it” aggrieved generosity.

Situ Jin: “…”

She silently gritted her teeth.

However, the silent battle of gazes between the two of them had lasted for too long, and it was hard for the Situ couple not to turn their gaze to their own daughter.

They neither understood [Parasites], nor did they understand mermaids, let alone Xuan Zhu. But they could see Xuan Zhu’s dependence on Situ Jin. Although it was ridiculous to think so, if anyone in this world could make a mermaid pregnant, then that matter must be related to Situ Jin.

“Jinbao, what’s going on?” her mother asked first.

Situ Jin was at a loss for words.

Finally, she raised her hand and stroked her forehead, and with a sigh, as if she were a scumbag who had tried to deceive everyone but had been exposed on the spot, she had to admit to her misdeeds outside.

No matter if what Xuan Zhu said was true or false, now there was only one way to smooth things over for her—

And so she ridiculously accepted this statement.

“Ah, yes, she’s pregnant.”

“The child is mine.”

From birth until now, in the twenty-seven years of her life, Situ Jin had only been beaten twice. Once was when she was a child and had gone out with her parents. She had made a fuss about going to the crowded seaside to see the fireworks, and had insisted on walking on her own. Although she had already promised to follow her mother well, she had taken advantage of the crowd to break free from her mother’s hand and had followed the person making cotton candy.

It wasn’t until the middle of the night that she had familiarly walked toward the police station that her parents had taught her, wanting to ask the police officer to find her lost parents.

But when she went in, she saw her mother, who had been crying for several hours.

And then.

She was given a mixed doubles beating at the police station.

When she went home to sleep, her butt was still hot.

The second time she was beaten was now.

Situ Jin touched the place where her father had angrily grabbed the paperweight on the desk and had hit her with it just now through her sleeve. She had been a rebellious child, and had acted first and reported later, and had even staged a drama of getting married because of a pregnancy. If it weren’t for the fact that her mother was also in the room, her hand might have been fractured by that blow just now.

When she walked out of the room, she saw the mermaid, who had been sent out earlier and was now looking anxious and uneasy. She bit her lip and looked at her, not expecting her to be injured because of her.

If it weren’t for the fact that Situ Jin had gestured to her before that she was not to go in again no matter what happened inside, she would have already broken down these two doors.

“Sisi…”

Xuan Zhu called her very lightly, and was a little afraid to come and touch her.

As if she were afraid of bringing her more harm, and also afraid that she would show a hurtful emotion under this unexpected injury.

So she was rarely well-behaved and timid, as if it were the first day she had come to the Situ family.

Situ Jin fiercely rubbed her head with her uninjured hand. By the time she had walked around the corner and was out of her parents’ room’s sight, she squeezed her ear and leaned in front of her with a smile, saying:

“You’re pregnant, are you?”

“The child is mine?”

“Although I don’t know what strange TV drama or novel you’ve been watching to come up with such a bad idea, if you can’t give birth and show a miracle, and let me get beaten a few times for nothing, you’re done for, baby.”

Xuan Zhu began to become particularly well-behaved.

Not only did she considerately take care of Situ Jin, and was particularly active in applying medicine to her and nursing her back to health, she even didn’t cling to her and ask for this and that as before. Even when she slept at night, she was honest and well-behaved, as quiet as a chilled fish in a seafood market.

Situ Jin for a moment didn’t know if she was guilty or if her personality had really changed because of her pregnancy.

And so she found the person who currently knew the most about monsters and medicine in Nancheng—

Lin Ran.

Although Director Lin didn’t think she was good at obstetrics and gynecology, since Situ Jin had made an appointment to come, she could only receive her and help her take a look.

And then she saw through her little trick at the first glance of Xuan Zhu.

But she still went through the motions and did an imaging for the other.

Situ Jin was very nervous. “How is it? Is she pregnant? Will there be any difficulties in childbirth? Is there any knowledge about the mermaid race that you can share?”

Lin Ran: “…”

She felt that this was a test of neither her knowledge of the mermaid race, nor her medical skills, but her social skills.

If she said she was pregnant.

Then she would be deceiving Yaoyao’s good friend.

If she said she wasn’t pregnant.

Then she would be putting Xuan Zhu in a situation of lying.

Besides, these two had been helping her secretly prepare Shu Yao’s birthday gift recently. She had to help them smooth this matter over.

And so Lin Ran thought for a moment and remembered something. “The mermaid race, when facing the intense pressure of reproduction, may have a false pregnancy. The symptoms are no different from a real pregnancy, but the result will not be a mermaid egg.”

Situ Jin stroked her chin. “You mean, I have to wait until a month later to see if she has laid an egg to know if she’s really pregnant or just having a false pregnancy?”

Lin Ran was silent.

And she was beginning to understand what it meant for love to make one stupid.

With Situ Jin’s normal female human parts… what was the possibility that she could really make Xuan Zhu pregnant?

She was just short of sticking the answer in front of Situ Jin’s face.

Fortunately, Situ Jin muttered a few words to herself and also reacted to the most important question—

“Mmm, wait, you mean she’s now having false pregnancy symptoms due to stress?”

Lin Ran nodded.

Xuan Zhu nodded frantically, and put on a pitiful expression, and then secretly gave Director Lin a thumbs-up behind her back, thanking her for the golden path she had paved for her.

Lin Ran calmly turned her head, pretending not to see this stupid fish’s overjoyed look.

But a thoughtful look appeared in her eyes.

If these two really wanted to have a child, she did have other ways.

That night.

Xuan Zhu was done miserably by Situ Jin.

She cried as if a heavy wooden chest full of gems at the bottom of the sea had been overturned, and the large, round sea pearls fell all over the bed.

When Situ Jin’s hands were tired, she would switch to some new things she had bought to continue tormenting her. Some were wearable types, and some were types that could be placed there, and after tying the person up and pressing the switch, they could continue to move with electricity.

Xuan Zhu could see that she was angry and let her torment her. In the end, it was Situ Jin herself who couldn’t stand it and pulled her into her arms, biting her lips, and asked with some annoyance:

“Are you a fool?”

“I would have tried even if you hadn’t lied. Or am I just so insecure that I have to use some excuse and reason to tie me down, otherwise I would have just slept with you and then thrown you away?”

Xuan Zhu shook her head and also offered her lips, which had been bitten with teeth marks. Although she was the one who had been done so miserably, she was very satisfied with this series of bad emotions that Situ Jin had never shown to others before.

Perhaps it was because Situ Jin was calm and rational most of the time, and could well suppress her true emotions, only showing the best part to others.

For example, in front of her parents, she was an obedient and sensible, perfect heir, with vision and ambition, who knew how to act spoiled and care for her parents, and also knew how to show her thoughts to them to achieve the best effect.

For example, in front of her good friends, she was good at listening, and would give help and advice when the other needed it most, and could also go through fire and water for her friends, but she rarely revealed her bad emotions and terrible troubles to her friends.

And for example, as a student, as a partner, and so on…

Xuan Zhu had seen too many of her beautiful sides.

So beautiful that she didn’t know how to let her terrible self enter her life and become a part of her world.

Only in bed could Xuan Zhu catch a glimpse of the evil hidden in Situ Jin’s personality. She liked it very much, because at that time, no matter what kind of reaction she made, because of the ugly lust, what kind of expression she showed, Situ Jin would gladly accept it.

At this moment, she was also like this.

She took the initiative to offer a kiss and obediently apologized, “I’m sorry.”

Situ Jin sneered and squeezed her cheek. “What were you wrong about?”

“I shouldn’t have not believed you. I shouldn’t have lied about being pregnant…” Xuan Zhu’s answer was very sincere, but after thinking for a while, she added, “I was just too scared.”

Situ Jin was quiet for a while, sighed, and then said, “It’s my fault.”

“I didn’t give you enough security. I didn’t express it well enough, and I didn’t do enough. Not as much as you like me. I will correct this in the future.”

She touched Xuan Zhu’s forehead with her own.

“I like you very much—”

“Every day in the future, I will like you more than before.”

“There’s one more thing I want you to know. I chose you on my own initiative. I wasn’t forced by anyone’s will. It’s because I like you that I chose you. Do you understand?”

Xuan Zhu’s eyes were shining brightly, and she nodded vigorously.

She loved to hear Situ Jin say she liked her, and only she could hear Situ Jin say she liked her.

After thinking for a moment, in order to avoid being choked by her shocking plan next time, Situ Jin added one more point, “In the future, if you have anything you want to do, or if you’re not sure about my thoughts, you can just ask me directly. Whether it’s dating or marriage, it’s a matter for the two of us. We have to discuss it together, okay?”

“Mmm.”

It seemed that the matter was resolved, but in fact, it was not.

Because Situ Jin hadn’t thought about how to explain to her parents the matter of “the child probably won’t be born.”

She decided to celebrate Shu Yao’s birthday first and have a relaxing and happy time, because she had been under a lot of pressure recently to take over the family business.

Who knew—

At her friend’s birthday party, she and Xuan Zhu also received a gift.

A few months later, in the early morning.

She and Xuan Zhu were both surrounding the bathtub, staring at the two giant, dinosaur-egg-like mermaid eggs inside. Situ Jin turned her head to look at Xuan Zhu, and then turned her head to look at the two eggs.

After a while, she asked a very academic question:

“Will the ones born from these eggs be fish or humans?”

Xuan Zhu shook her head, not understanding.

Because these two eggs should have been born from her through [Reproduction], by parthenogenesis. But when the fish eggs were in her body, Lin Ran, considering the Situ family’s request, had used the equipment from the research institute to take out the fish eggs from Xuan Zhu’s body.

And she had also taken the egg cells from Situ Jin’s body.

And then she had chosen the two most successful fish eggs from the observation outside the body, and let them grow in a suitable environment until the embryos inside were almost formed, before she notified them to take them back and put them in the nearest place with seawater.

It was said that today was the day they were about to hatch.

Situ Jin stared at the two eggs, and after pondering for two seconds, a bad idea popped into her mind. If a normal fish were to come out of the egg later, she would just pretend that the child had had a miscarriage.

Until she heard the sound of eager footsteps outside the door.

Accompanied by her parents’ concerned whispers outside, “How is it? Is the child out yet?”

As soon as her voice fell.

A cracking sound was heard from the eggshell.

Crack.

The first eggshell cracked.

A very cute little hand stretched out from inside, and pushed open the upper half of the eggshell, revealing a round, chubby face, with large blue eyes and long, silver, curly hair, and that pair of clear and innocent eyes, which looked a little like Situ Jin as a child.

But the part that was still nestled in the lower half of the eggshell was also a silver-white fishtail.

At this moment, because it saw Situ Jin and Xuan Zhu, it happily swayed from side to side.

Xuan Zhu: “!”

She whispered a compliment, “Cute!”

Situ Jin turned her head toward the little mermaid. “Who are you praising?”

Xuan Zhu continued to look at her. “Sisi, cute.”

Situ Jin: “…”

Her expression was helpless, and she wanted to say something, but her parents, who had been listening at the door outside, had already guessed something. Then, this bedroom, which was as if it were a delivery room that could now welcome family members, was filled with a rush of people coming in from outside.

She even heard the voice of Shu Yao, who should have been eating pastries downstairs.

“Is it born? Is it?”

“I want to see, I want to see! I can be the child’s godmother, right, Jin?”

And then there was the exclamation of her parents who had already come in.

“So small!”

“She looks so much like our daughter. So cute!”

“This strong tail, not bad. She definitely won’t be bullied at school in the future!”

Situ Jin, who had been inexplicably pushed to the side: “…”

No, Dad, Mom, you didn’t say that before?

The bathroom became more and more lively.

The newborn little mermaid even curiously grabbed at the air, trying to catch the mimicked tentacles that Lin Ran had quietly extended to play with her.

Situ Jin, taking advantage of the fact that no one was looking this way, suddenly leaned over and kissed the corner of Xuan Zhu’s eye.

Xuan Zhu looked at her in a daze.

“You’re cute too,” Miss Situ replied.

Just as a smile appeared in Xuan Zhu’s eyebrows because of her praise, the sound of the second egg cracking also sounded, causing everyone to exclaim:

“Quick, quick, the other child is also out. This one should look like Xuan Zhu, right?”

The sound of the shell breaking was hesitant, and it sounded rustlingly.

Even Situ Jin leaned her head over curiously.

The child who was about to be born seemed to have already anticipated that she was descending in the midst of thousands of loves. Her movements gradually accelerated, and finally, in the anticipation of everyone, she pushed open the eggshell.

Revealing long black hair, and that face that was exactly the same as Xuan Zhu’s.

Even her fishtail was black.

Pure black like ink jade. Compared to her sister who was born just now, her expression was much colder, but no one would blame a child for having a cold personality, and they all gave praise.

“Wow! A black fishtail is also beautiful!” This was Shu Yao.

“Quick, find a master to carve that piece of ink jade I bought at the auction. When she’s one year old, we’ll make a jade plaque for this child!” This was Situ Jin’s father, who had already consciously had the doting characteristics of a grandparent after seeing the child.

Her mother had already gone to the side to call a luxury brand to order suitable clothes for the two children.

When Xuan Zhu heard their words, she had originally felt uneasy because the child looked like her. At this moment, she also quietly took a look, and seeing that this child did not, like her when she was first born, have white hair and white eyelashes as if she were cursed, the heavy haze in her heart suddenly dissipated at this moment.

She was sure at this second—

The devil’s curse had already left her.

From now on, whether it was her, or the newborn child who was similar to her, they would both live a happy and joyful life.

It was her own fairy tale.

A mermaid did not have to pursue a prince. With the princess in the castle who was about to inherit the throne, they would live a happy and blissful life.

There, she takes a liking to Director Lin from Nanshan Hospital, a cold beauty and a renowned virtuoso surgeon.

The beautiful Dr. Lin is gentle and considerate. She picks Shu Yao up from work every day, leaning against her red car, her ink-black hair falling over her shoulders, the shadows of her thick, long eyelashes gracing her eyes.

She is always so affectionate, reluctant to part, as if she cherishes Shu Yao completely—a feeling Shu Yao thoroughly enjoys.

Until one time, after getting drunk and running into her ex-girlfriend, Shu Yao returns home and tearfully pours her heart out while hugging Director Lin’s slender waist, asking, “Will you… will you cheat on me like she did?”

Lin Ran falls silent.

From the soft plaid sofa, a mottled black-and-red tentacle emerges, followed by a second, and a third… They unfurl and sway before Shu Yao like a peacock displaying its feathers.

Her gentle girlfriend then asks at the perfect moment: “Which one are you asking about?”

Shu Yao: “……!”

She lets out a hiccup, scared sober.

*

No one knows that every night, as Lin Ran waits in the shadows by her car after dropping Shu Yao home, twisted and grotesque tentacles whisper encouragement in her ear:

“Cuddle… we want to cuddle…”

“Eat her, then we can cuddle forever!”

“A hug… so warm… we want to go somewhere warmer…”

Awe I loved this adorable ending for the ‘princess’ and mermaid! A fun fact is the original “little mermaid” book was very queer and was written after the author was harshly rejected. These two’s story ending like this would probably have made that author very happy 🙂
