The moment her ears popped out, it meant her Susceptible Period had truly arrived.
Thinking back to the inhibitor she had personally rejected that morning before heading out, Jiang Yusheng wished she could turn back the clock a few hours and slap her foolish self across the face.
But the situation at hand left no room for such regrets.
The instant her ears emerged, she instinctively clapped a hand over them.
Unfortunately, the ears were far too large and her palm far too small. That little hand couldn’t hope to cover them.
Jiang Yusheng had seen her share of strange scenes, though, and she didn’t panic. Noticing that the other person hadn’t said a word, she figured they had no idea what they were holding in their arms.
She deliberately hunched her body, lifting her head from their embrace and edging backward with care. “Sorry, I wasn’t watching where I was going.”
As she spoke, she planted a foot behind her and, the moment it touched solid ground, spun to flee. But she had forgotten that her body, deep in the Susceptible Period, had gone soft all over.
Especially her strength.
The very thought of running sparked her intent, but her limbs failed her, and she toppled backward.
Just as she was about to crash to the ground, an arm shot out at the perfect moment. It hooked around her lower back and, with good intentions, pulled her forward—
Jiang Yusheng tumbled right back into their arms. At the same time, her two enormous, impossible-to-hide rabbit ears brushed inescapably against the person’s neck.
The fluffy sensation was maddeningly ticklish. The young woman glanced down and spotted those two adorably soft appendages that had no business being on a human.
“A rabbit?” she blurted out on instinct.
Jiang Yusheng’s face went rigid.
This was bad.
Was she about to get hauled off for experiments?
