Chapter 128: The Meeting
Winston Hotel.
Tang Ze had returned to the luxurious suite long ago. The headache for him was that Jiang Nana stuck to him like a piece of candy. Besides him, she didn’t seem to trust anyone, not even Ye Qingyi.
There was only one solution.
Looking at the now unconscious Jiang Nana, Tang Ze felt she had it quite rough. Her whole family was gone, and she herself had gone mad.
However, the current Jiang Nana was already at Level 3. Even Lu Yudié, Xie Mingyue, and Chu Liu were Level 3 powerhouses now.
He closed the door. The phone in his pocket rang.
It was the Manager.
“Let’s meet at a location. Let me see those two people,” the Manager asked, getting straight to the point.
“Alright.”
The Manager was surprised that Tang Ze would be so straightforward. Wasn’t he afraid of an ambush?
“Where are you?”
“I’m at the Winston Hotel in Yunhai City.”
The Manager felt this was too strange, strange enough to give him goosebumps. Could what he said be trusted?
Or was he an apocalypse newbie?
Completely without defenses?
“Eight o’clock tonight.”
“No problem.”
After hanging up, Tang Ze walked into the opposite bedroom. The three girls inside instinctively flinched when they saw him appear.
“Chu Liu, Lu Yudié, a mysterious company is looking for you two,” Tang Ze said with a smile, sitting on the bed.
Chu Liu and Lu Yudié were both puzzled. Why were they looking for them?
“So, do you want to go?”
“No,” Lu Yudié stated directly.
Chu Liu was a couple of seconds slower. “I don’t want to go.”
“Then do you want to go?” Tang Ze looked at Xie Mingyue.
Xie Mingyue immediately shook her head. Compared to her previous attitude, she was much better now. It seemed she really needed to be put in her place.
“What do your families do?” Tang Ze felt it might be related to their family backgrounds.
Seeing the two women hesitate, Tang Ze gave a friendly reminder. “A girl just came. I killed her whole family, and she herself went mad. Do you want to be like her?”
“Pale with fright” was probably the best way to describe their expressions.
“My dad is the chairman of the Juding Group,” Lu Yudié said.
“You finally said a relatively long sentence. But I still prefer it when you ‘ah’ and ‘mm.’ What about your mom? What does she do?”
“Single-parent family,” Lu Yudié said truthfully.
Tang Ze let out an “oh.” Her aloof personality was probably related to her family. “What about you? What do your parents do?”
“My parents are professors.”
“Professors in what field?”
“Genetic…” Chu Liu suddenly paused.
Tang Ze patted Chu Liu’s head. Chu Liu was slightly stunned and moved closer to him.
Seriously, what’s with you women and your obsession with this?
Can’t it just be a head pat?
“What are you doing? Be serious!” Tang Ze chided.
Chu Liu felt incredibly wronged.
“Alright, all of you, come out for a walk. Don’t just sit in the room. You need to move your bodies.”
With that, Tang Ze went out first, but this time he didn’t close the door. Lu Yudié was the first to walk out, with Xie Mingyue following. Chu Liu gritted her teeth and went out as well.
Tang Ze called Xi Meng to the balcony. “Do you know of the Juding Group?”
“That’s a big corporation, involved in many fields. The owner’s surname is Lu. Could it be?” Xi Meng gasped.
“Lu Yudié is a rich young lady.” Tang Ze smiled and lit a cigarette, leaning on the railing and looking at the beautiful snowy scenery before him.
“The Master is very fortunate.”
“Heh, and Chu Liu’s parents are professors in genetics. These two points can’t help but make one think.”
“Could it be that the so-called company is Juding? And Chu Liu’s parents are doing research in the company?”
Tang Ze scratched his hair. “It’s possible, but it’s not certain yet. If it’s as you say, why would they leave their daughter at the university? Shouldn’t they be like the Jiang family and call everyone home?”
Xi Meng pursed her lips. She felt the Master had a point.
“Don’t think about it. Lean over like me. The view is exceptionally different.”
“Is there such a thing?” Xi Meng gripped the railing with both hands. It felt just the same. Suddenly, she let out a soft moan.
…
At this moment, the atmosphere in the living room was not very harmonious. It seemed that factions had already appeared.
Perhaps because they had been “educated” by Sun Ting, Chu Liu and the other two women sat at the dining table, while Sun Ting and the others sat on the sofa.
Even when Ye Qingyi called Xie Mingyue over, she wouldn’t go.
It was as if from this moment on, internal factions were gradually emerging.
“They seem to want to oppose us,” An Bai said, peeling an orange.
“Just the three of them?” Sun Ting wasn’t afraid at all. The newcomers were getting cocky, thinking they could take on the veterans.
Ye Qingyi sighed helplessly and asked with curiosity, “Where did the Master go?”
Li Linger mischievously pointed to the balcony, extended her palm, and patted it.
The other women let out a long “ohhh.”
A short while later, Tang Ze returned to the living room with a smile, while Xi Meng walked shyly toward the bathroom.
Looking at the three women sitting at the dining table, Tang Ze said nothing. Competition fostered progress. Why else would he have told the three of them to become a team?
But then again, competition was one thing, but the veterans were still veterans. Sun Ting and the others’ status was irreplaceable.
The three of them could still only eat their leftovers. They would have to wait until they had achieved something.
“Alright, dinner’s ready!”
As always, Tang Ze ate first, followed by Sun Ting and the other five, and then the trio led by Chu Liu. As for Jiang Nana, she hadn’t woken up yet.
Night fell. Jiang Nana finally got up. She limped over to Tang Ze and said she was hungry.
For this rather special existence, Tang Ze didn’t make things difficult. He let her eat and drink her fill, after which she became his little shadow.
“Master, I want to kill someone.”
“…”
From dinner until now, she had said this sentence over a hundred times. “Alright! Sit down properly for me, or you won’t get any lollipops!”
Believe it or not, it had some effect. At least she sat there obediently without moving.
Xie Mingyue looked at Jiang Nana, a sense of sadness welling up in her heart. Her entire family was dead, leaving only her, and she had gone mad.
Suddenly, the phone in Tang Ze’s pocket rang.
“My people have arrived at the hotel entrance.”
“Alright, wait for me.” With that, Tang Ze hung up.
“You two, come with me.”
Chu Liu and Lu Yudié were smart now. They stood up and followed him without a word. If you don’t ask, you can’t make a mistake. If you don’t make a mistake, you won’t be punished. Sticking to this principle, they could get along very well in this team.
As they went down the stairs, Tang Ze said flatly, “Since you’ve chosen this path, don’t think about your families from now on, lest you end up like Jiang Nana.”
Lu Yudié immediately grunted in acknowledgment.
Chu Liu also nodded.
“Teacher Chu, you’ve become much more obedient.”
Chu Liu didn’t speak.
“Heh, Teacher Chu, are you learning not to speak from her now?”
“I don’t know what to say…” Chu Liu said softly. She wasn’t like Sun Ting, who knew how to say nice things.
“Then come to my bedroom tonight. Use English the whole time.”
Chu Liu: “…”
