“Li Huan?” Jiang Li had changed into a nightgown and approached slowly. She looked at Li Huan’s darkened expression and asked, “What’s wrong?”
The phone was still ringing in Li Huan’s hand.
Without answering Jiang Li first, Li Huan leaned against the headboard. The blanket slipped down slightly from her body, her fair skin glowing softly. She countered with a question of her own. “What are we to each other right now?”
What relation…?
Jiang Li blinked. Though the two of them hadn’t formally confessed their feelings yet, she felt there was only one possible answer at this moment—and Li Huan would accept nothing less.
“Lovers?”
It wasn’t the most confident reply, but as Li Huan gazed at Jiang Li before her—wearing the sleepwear she had bought for her, sitting on her bed, her body carrying Li Huan’s own scent—she decided not to nitpick.
She was more than satisfied with Jiang Li, whose entire body bore her markings.
If they were lovers, then—
Li Huan held up Jiang Li’s phone in front of her, her expression serious as she pointed to the caller’s name, asserting her rightful privileges.
“Don’t answer her call.”
Oh, it was Li Si.
Jiang Li glanced at the contact name and relaxed, settling on the edge of the bed. She figured Li Si had been sent by her parents to check on her.
After all, before deciding to move into Li Huan’s home, she had given her dad and mom a heads-up.
—The unfilial daughter will go teach Li Huan a lesson on your behalf right now! I’ll make sure she apologizes properly!
That had been her mindset before stepping into Li Huan’s house.
But once she was inside… Her fingertips brushed across her cheek with a soft rustle. Jiang Li pursed her lips, staring at her hands—which had just changed the bedsheets. She squeezed them lightly, her mouth twisting into a subtle, wry smile.
She supposed she hadn’t entirely failed to “teach a lesson”; it had simply shifted locations and methods.
As for the apology, that was definitely coming too—though it would arrive in the form of their daughter introducing her girlfriend.
Following that train of thought to the family Shura Field she’d have to face, Jiang Li shook her head. Better not to dwell on such distant matters for now.
When she looked up again, she met Li Huan’s sullen expression—like she might pounce and bite her at any second.
The phone had rung once already and hung up, only to start ringing again soon after. The pleasant melody sounded jarringly out of place in the quiet room.
If she didn’t pick up, it would probably keep going.
This time, Li Huan didn’t ask. She simply pressed accept and shoved the phone into Jiang Li’s lap. One word: “Answer.”
The phone was thrust suddenly into her hands. Jiang Li had been staring at Li Huan, about to explain why the call was coming in, when Li Si’s hoarse voice blasted through the room.
Li Huan instinctively frowned. Noisy.
Jiang Li hurriedly turned off the speaker.
“Jiang Li! Finally, I’ve got hold of you! You had me worried sick!”
On the other end of the line, Li Si had finally connected with Jiang Li. The frantic worry in her heart eased at last, and she collapsed onto the sofa in relief.
Jiang Li glanced at the pitch-black sky outside, then instinctively looked down at her right hand—the wrinkled fingertips and aching wrist screaming their silent story.
Everything told her just how intense things had gotten between her and Li Huan.
Li Si kept chattering nonstop on the phone, but Jiang Li’s attention was drawn to the ankle resting on her thigh. She responded to the call in distracted hums.
Li Huan’s face visibly darkened; she was clearly displeased.
Lifting her chin, Li Huan slid her foot boldly between Jiang Li’s legs. Jiang Li let out a startled little gasp, her eyes—still misty from the bath—lifting to meet Li Huan’s.
Li Huan didn’t care what Jiang Li was doing right now.
Now that they were lovers, anything she did was fair game—and forgivable. That’s what Li Huan believed.
So when she’d asked Jiang Li that question earlier, only for Jiang Li’s thoughts to wander and her to shake her head in refusal, Li Huan had decided—
She wasn’t happy anymore. Time to exercise her lover’s rights.
Like now, boldly placing her foot on Jiang Li’s body. She’d even considered pushing further, lightly kicking her in the abdomen.
But before she could act, a pair of soft hands gently grasped her ankle.
The pampered young lady of wealth had skin like silk everywhere. The only rough work her hands had ever done was probably what she’d just inflicted on Li Huan.
She had wrinkled Jiang Li’s fingertips.
As Jiang Li held her ankle, the repeated friction against her skin made Li Huan keenly aware of it. The wrinkled pads dragged slowly across her flesh, creating more resistance than usual.
No matter how she thought about it, this seemed like a thoroughly delightful thing. Li Huan sat up a bit straighter, her gaze lingering on that elegant, jade-like hand.
Slender fingers like spring onions—when exerting force on her body, veins would bulge beneath their graceful surface, glistening with moisture that lent them a vivid flush.
It was a side of Jiang Li utterly different from her usual self: raw and red, swept up in surging blood and unbridled desire, drawn by Li Huan into a blooming frenzy that ignored night or day.
A completely different Jiang Li. How intriguing. Li Huan’s restless thoughts stirred, tingles of excitement threading through her. She wanted to try something more.
With mischief in her heart and the sour swell of jealousy brewing, Li Huan felt that what came next was entirely justified.
Like making Jiang Li show more flustered expressions—beneath her foot.
A playful glint flashed in her eyes. Occasionally indulging in a game like this counted as flirtation, didn’t it…?
“Don’t move.”
Jiang Li’s grip tightened on her wrist. She mouthed the words silently to Li Huan, her lips parting slightly—but the ankle in her grasp continued to move restlessly on her lap, growing bolder by the second.
“Did Li Huan do anything to you? It’s my fault; I should have warned you earlier, then you could’ve…”
Li Si’s voice droned on from the phone, standing out sharply in the room’s silence.
Do anything to you?
The words rang clear in her ears. Li Huan arched a brow; she had a pretty good idea of her image in the minds of those around Jiang Li. They probably thought she’d led the lamb into the tiger’s den.
But they couldn’t imagine that the tiger hadn’t devoured the little lamb—instead, she’d willingly offered up her own flesh for Jiang Li to devour.
Still, it irritated her.
Having her time with Jiang Li interrupted filled her with annoyance, like a wad of sour cotton stuffed in her chest, churning waves of acrid discomfort.
Her fingertips clenched painfully. Li Huan lifted her gaze, the surging emotions in her heart making the scene before her even more grating.
An Alpha’s private domain had been invaded, even if only by a mere phone call checking on Jiang Li’s safety.
The two pheromones that had been gently intertwining in the room were barbarically disrupted by the sudden intrusion of cedar scent.
Li Li’s gaze must not stray from me even an inch.
Her eyes narrowed slightly. Li Huan resolved to claim Jiang Li entirely, on her own terms.
Hm?
The blanket covering her was suddenly yanked back. The flash of white fabric or tender skin made Jiang Li squint and blink, only to find a face right in front of her. Her breath hitched.
“How…”
Li Huan pressed a fingertip to Jiang Li’s lips, silencing her. A mischievous spark danced in her eyes. Jiang Li’s heart sank with a bad feeling as her words were cut short.
“What’s how? Did I just say something…? Hey, why aren’t you responding? Where are you right now? You couldn’t still be at Li Huan’s place, could you?!”
Li Si’s words poured into Jiang Li’s right ear, loud enough to make it uncomfortable. She wanted to tilt her head away, but now that was impossible.
Li Huan had taken her left ear into her mouth.
A warm, nimble tongue.
“Remember to respond to Li Li later, okay? It’s rude to take a call and not say anything.”
Unclear if it was a kind reminder or a preview of what was to come, Li Huan murmured huskily against Jiang Li’s ear, interspersed with ambiguous sucking sounds that slid right into her consciousness.
The soft earlobe endured rough treatment it shouldn’t have, turning red and slick. The licking sounds were so erotic they made her thighs quiver uncontrollably.
In her right ear, Li Si’s voice continued crystal clear, yet Jiang Li felt like she couldn’t hear a word.
Still, the wet sounds of saliva and swallowing beside her made Jiang Li bite her lower lip in torment.
For a split second, as Li Huan teasingly tugged her earlobe with her teeth and Jiang Li shuddered, clutching tighter, she caught Li Si’s startled yelp in her other ear.
As if Li Si had realized what was happening on this end.
Here she was, on the phone with her friend, yet helplessly aroused by the lewd smacking from Li Huan’s mouth, stifling occasional muffled moans.
She was doing something so shameful.
“No… Li Huan…”
Li Huan pulled back slightly. Her collarbone bore red scratches from Jiang Li’s nails, but amid her already flushed excitement, they were negligible.
Look at those eyes—so obedient.
Wet and shimmering, fixed on her. Cheeks flushed with pitiful embarrassment, lips—marked by her bites—trembling pleadingly for mercy.
What a sight to set her blood boiling.
“Don’t bite.”
Her fingertip stroked insistently over the tightly pursed lips, trying to coax the woman before her to relax. She even stilled the ankle she’d been using to tease Jiang Li.
Her reassurance did nothing to help.
It only deepened Jiang Li’s understanding of this woman’s wicked intentions.
Those eyes, darkened and fixed on her face, gleamed with wolfish ferocity—mingled dissatisfaction and amusement.
It hit Jiang Li clearly: Li Huan was using this phone call to toy with her.
Shame burned so hot she wanted to burrow into the thin blanket and never emerge.
Especially since she couldn’t resist Li Huan’s temptations in the slightest.
Before the next whisper could land in her ear, Jiang Li swiped her finger to end the call—
It was snatched away!
In startled panic, Jiang Li looked up, about to speak—then remembered Li Si was still listening. She lunged instead to grab the phone back.
Li Huan held it high out of reach, pressing down with her foot to effortlessly pin Jiang Li under her control, watching her squirm clearly.
“Didn’t Li Li want to answer it? I’m being so considerate.”
Li Huan’s smile was warm as spring sunshine, yet on her face, it only chilled the heart.
When had she ever said she wanted to answer? Jiang Li wanted to protest, but she didn’t dare speak.
With the phone in Li Huan’s hand, she didn’t know if the sounds on their end were muted.
More than that, she feared that if she opened her mouth, Li Huan would say things she couldn’t respond to—shameful, indecent things.
No one else could hear them.
Jiang Li stayed silent, and the foot that had gone still began to misbehave again.
Slipping under her clothes, rubbing shamelessly against the soft skin.
Li Huan shifted back to her earlier position, pressed close to Jiang Li—so close she considerately held the phone to her ear while nibbling the other one.
“Say three things to her, Li Li, and then we hang up, okay?” Li Huan cooed sweetly and skillfully in her ear.
Did she have any choice?
Pinned tight by this woman, phone confiscated, stared down relentlessly—Jiang Li couldn’t move an inch.
“Okay.”
But Jiang Li agreed anyway.
The reason? She sensed the pouty jealousy tugging at Li Huan’s lips.
As her lover, she should indulge her Alpha’s little tantrum at a time like this.
Even if it meant regretting it later. She decided not to think that far ahead.
She just hoped Li Si wouldn’t be too shocked.
