Jiang Li had never used any adult toys before, but just by looking at the shape of this one, she could roughly figure out exactly how it worked.
One end curved upward while the other did the same, connected by a soft silicone shaft. Lu Chaohuan gripped one end in her hand right now, while the other lay right in front of Jiang Li.
It gave Jiang Li the distinct feeling that if she agreed to teach her, Lu Chaohuan would grab the thing and drag her home to start the lesson in the very next second.
Seeing the genuine anticipation shining in Lu Chaohuan’s eyes as she held it up, Jiang Li swallowed hard. Was Lu Chaohuan seriously not joking?
“Ah… this. I probably can’t teach you.”
Jiang Li pinched her flushed earlobe and let a strand of hair fall over it, hoping to hide it from Lu Chaohuan’s view. Her voice came out as faint as a mosquito’s buzz—a complete reversal from the firm tone she’d used just moments earlier.
Lu Chaohuan had been about to press further when she glanced up and saw that the little red-faced person in front of her had flushed all the way down to her collarbone, her cheeks and earlobes burning bright. She let out a soft chuckle and mercifully let her off the hook.
Fine. No more teasing.
Lu Chaohuan turned and began browsing the store on her own.
Jiang Li stared blankly at Lu Chaohuan’s relaxed strolling, as casual as if she were shopping for clothes. She showed no trace of shame toward the array of products displayed before her, and her acceptance of them seemed remarkably high.
Well, that was probably a good thing, right?
If Lu Chaohuan took a liking to using these adult toys, Jiang Li figured they should be enough to help her vent her daily urges… or so she hoped.
That notion would be thoroughly overturned half a month later, shattered by Jiang Li’s own bitter lesson.
Lu Chaohuan had strolled through the shelves, but these items weren’t new to her. Thanks to a senior at school who was into niche subcultures, Lu Chaohuan had seen plenty before—and even more varieties than what this shop offered.
She didn’t need them for herself. But for using on someone else…
She glanced at Jiang Li, whose gaze had stayed fixed on her the whole time. Jiang Li’s chin rested tensely in her hand, her expression one of clear worry that she might pick out another two-person toy to show her.
Lu Chaohuan smiled warmly and, under Jiang Li’s nervous stare, casually selected a few tame-looking gadgets.
After checking out and returning to the car, Lu Chaohuan looked earnestly at Jiang Li. “Teacher Jiang, I’m counting on you from now on.”
Her tone was deadly serious as she said, “This lesson on using adult toys—you’ll make sure I graduate with flying colors, right?”
Lu Chaohuan spoke with the gravity of someone discussing an academic paper, but the words themselves made Jiang Li’s cheeks tighten in embarrassment.
“Teacher” in this context…
“It’s forbidden to call me Teacher Jiang,” Jiang Li stressed.
Eyeing the red tips of her ears, Lu Chaohuan raised a brow and asked innocently, “But you are my teacher, aren’t you?”
The two weren’t interchangeable at all! Jiang Li glared at Lu Chaohuan, silently demanding that she take the words back.
As the car drove slowly onward, Lu Chaohuan didn’t suggest going home with her, so Jiang Li could only drop her off at A University, respecting her wishes.
“You…”
Jiang Li had just started to speak when her phone rang from the center console, shattering the quiet. The incoming caller’s name made the already silent car feel even heavier, thick with unspoken tension.
“Sister, aren’t you going to answer?”
Lu Chaohuan leaned back against the car door, arms crossed, her brows arched in a mocking half-smile as she watched Jiang Li fluster helplessly. It seemed the sudden call had thrown her completely off balance.
123 what are you doing!!!
The passenger had already prompted her, but Jiang Li—missing the chill in Lu Chaohuan’s voice—felt a thousand questions swirling in her mind and still reached for the phone.
Fortunately, 123 hung up just as Jiang Li grabbed it, sparing her from answering what would have been a silent call anyway.
Lu Chaohuan beside her seemed especially interested in the call. When the screen showed it ending, she leaned over for a peek. “Sister, did you not tell your dear Yun Chu about heading out with me? Is she checking up on you?”
Lu Chaohuan’s question was perfectly earnest, as if she saw nothing wrong with being out with her stepsister—or being checked on by her sister’s girlfriend.
On the contrary, Jiang Li felt a bit dazed at her words and unconsciously started wondering if she really hadn’t reported her plans.
Right, she hadn’t… Wait, no! Yun Chu was her herself! What was there to report!
“No, she must just have something to tell me. We don’t usually call to check each other’s schedules,” Jiang Li said, curling her lips into a perfectly sweet smile.
That smile stabbed into Lu Chaohuan’s heart like a thorn. She imagined Jiang Li finishing the sentence in her mind: They didn’t call for schedules because they always chatted about everything over WeChat ahead of time.
Including—without a doubt—this outing with her today, which Jiang Li had probably mentioned beforehand.
Suddenly, Lu Chaohuan didn’t feel like smiling anymore. Under Jiang Li’s watchful eyes, she openly pulled one of the little items from the bag and placed it in Jiang Li’s lap.
Jiang Li froze, not daring to move, staring at the thing in her lap like it was a hot potato. She looked up at Lu Chaohuan in helpless confusion. “Y-you… isn’t this yours…?”
Seeing the flustered embarrassment on Jiang Li’s face improved Lu Chaohuan’s mood a little. She got out of the car with the bag, circled around, and peered through the window at Jiang Li.
Jiang Li blinked. Without waiting for Lu Chaohuan to knock, she rolled down the window to greet her.
Leaning her palm on the window frame, Lu Chaohuan bent slightly to poke her head inside, perfectly displaying the soft curves of her chest right in front of Jiang Li.
With a sweep of her hair, Lu Chaohuan turned her head and leaned even closer, lips curving into a smile.
“Stop.”
A slender finger pressed against her collarbone, halting Lu Chaohuan’s advance. Jiang Li stared at the exquisite face now inches away, which clearly wasn’t pleased at being held back.
But Jiang Li’s ears were already burning red with embarrassment. “Don’t come so close. Just say it like this.”
Pouting in disappointment, Lu Chaohuan met Jiang Li’s firm gaze and laughed. This time, instead of forcing face-to-face, she braced a hand on Jiang Li’s shoulder and brought her lips to her ear.
The summer heat scorched the air, and Lu Chaohuan’s warm breath ghosted slowly over Jiang Li’s ear, sticking to her neck like mist. Her deliberately lowered voice rolled off her tongue.
“Sister, you have to study up properly on how to use that little baby when you get home, okay?”
Jiang Li’s body went rigid. Her gaze locked stiffly straight ahead, landing on the red-lettered banner strung up at A University’s gate against a white backdrop. The words stabbed at her eyes.
Talk was cheap—action was what showed true commitment. Was this reminding her not to break her promise to Lu Chaohuan?
“Teacher Jiang, I’m waiting anytime for you to teach me how to use it.”
The voice murmured low in her ear. For some reason, Jiang Li sensed a sense of mission in it—and Lu Chaohuan’s barely restrained desire.
Even with sunlight pouring down at that moment, Lu Chaohuan’s shadow blocked Jiang Li’s light, summoning visions of endless dark night and waves of crashing lust.
Jiang Li froze in place and understood it fully in that instant—
Lu Chaohuan’s desire was nigh unbearable.
Only when the figure left did Jiang Li dare look at the toy in her lap. Eyes darting away in panic, she rolled up the window fully before finally reaching out to pick up the scalding object.
It was a small, rounded thing, compact and featuring a little opening. Jiang Li stared at it in bewilderment, clueless as to how it worked.
Did it go… inside? Or where exactly…?
Jiang Li let out a pained groan and slumped over the steering wheel. She truly had no idea how to use this thing. How on earth was she supposed to teach Lu Chaohuan?
Forget it. Head home first and study it properly.
She tossed the hot potato aside and drove home decisively. Every moment of avoidance bought her a little time. She didn’t believe Lu Chaohuan could barge in broad daylight to demand her lesson.
But when she got home, Jiang Li stared in confusion at the woman sitting on her sofa with her back to the door, munching her snacks and peering at her iPad. Who was this?
“Sorry, who might you be?”
The woman on the sofa heard Jiang Li’s voice, immediately flung aside her potato chip with a dramatic flick, and rushed toward her beaming with delight.
“Oh! Pear Pear Baby! I’ve finally got this body sorted!”
Before Jiang Li could say a word to refuse, the woman swept her up in a tight hug and spun her around in a full circle, full of infectious energy.
Jiang Li dangled in the air, her head spinning from the whirlwind. “Okay, okay! Put me down first—I’m getting dizzy!”
She was set down at last. The woman even solicitously guided her to the sofa before—utterly without ceremony—plopping straight into Jiang Li’s lap.
This knocked Jiang Li senseless.
Who was this woman, anyway? Acting like they were old familiars?
Not satisfied, the woman tried to curl up even smaller in Jiang Li’s lap, wanting to nestle her whole body there like a cat.
Wait—like a cat. “Finally got the body sorted.” Calling her that creepy “Pear Pear Baby”…
Jiang Li looked incredulously at the woman still squirming to burrow deeper, reached out, grabbed her face to make her meet her eyes, and asked suspiciously, “Yun Chu?”
Yun Chu—or rather, 123—blinked. Buried against Jiang Li, she realized she couldn’t prowl all over her like she could in her cat form. Grievously, 123 nuzzled against Jiang Li’s face.
“It’s me. I finally tuned the body right and came to find you.”
Jiang Li recalled 123 mentioning that it had adjusted Yun Chu’s body in the system, but since it wasn’t a natural body from this world, it needed time to adapt. Now that it was here, that meant it was ready.
She had just started to properly examine the body she’d be using going forward when a WeChat voice call chimed—it was from Lu Chaohuan.
Delight curved Jiang Li’s lips. She guessed her little sister was checking if she’d made it home. What an incredibly sweet girl.
“Sister, you home yet?”
The voice on the line sounded gentle and soft. Jiang Li opened her mouth to reply cheerily when 123, nestled in her lap, clutched her stomach and whined, “I came straight to you without eating.”
A strange woman’s voice—and right there with Jiang Li, extremely close.
Lu Chaohuan’s brows iced over. She snatched the iPad from her bedside and tapped into the home security feed, one hand on the phone and one swiping the monitor open.
The image loaded, revealing the pair on-screen, and her breathing deepened.
“Did I interrupt something fun, Sister?”
Ice laced the voice from the phone, worlds away from the warmth of the first sentence. Jiang Li frantically clapped a hand over 123’s mouth and rushed to reply. “No, no interruption at all!”
On the screen, Jiang Li sat on the sofa, phone in one hand and the other muzzling the woman in her lap—like she was desperate to keep her from being heard. Lu Chaohuan should have been pleased.
But.
Lu Chaohuan’s gaze turned glacial. She zoomed the picture to full size and watched the woman—who had her back turned—not like the muffling and squirm playfully in Jiang Li’s lap, even scratching at Jiang Li’s neck like a cat.
Worst of all, as the woman romped over her body, Jiang Li did nothing but cover her mouth beyond that, showing no annoyance at the liberties taken.
Jealous fury flashed in Lu Chaohuan’s eyes. So this was Yun Chu—the official girlfriend whom Sister kept close, indulged, and made allowances for.
Explanations kept streaming from Jiang Li’s end, but Lu Chaohuan stared at the sugary scene before her like a masochist, flames leaping higher in her chest with every second.
“Sister.”
“Sister.”
Both voices called out in unison.
Lu Chaohuan’s fingertips dug into the screen, veins bulging on the back of her hand. Eyes darkened to abyssal fury, the blaze of jealousy at her heart roared to its peak.
Then Lu Chaohuan saw it—
The woman grinned, lifted her arms to hook around Jiang Li’s neck, and steered her lips toward Jiang Li’s cheek.
