Chapter 96: Jiejie is So Sweet
Ming Fei was dizzy and dazed from her first kiss, having completely forgotten the tips in the book.
It wasn’t until Zhu Yiqiao reminded her to breathe that she proactively touched Zhu Yiqiao’s lower lip with her own, her eyelashes fluttering as she deepened the kiss, her arms tightening around Zhu Yiqiao’s waist.
She was like a fish washed ashore by the waves, clinging to Zhu Yiqiao, this pool of water.
Later, it was hard to tell who was more active, who was more passive.
In short, their lips were moist and glistening, like pink cherry blossoms covered in morning dew, especially Zhu Yiqiao’s. Ming Fei had accidentally bitten her lower lip, leaving a faint crescent-shaped mark that was quite noticeable up close.
Ming Fei clearly saw it too.
She was a little embarrassed and placed a light, fleeting kiss on the mark.
“…Does it hurt?”
Under the natural light in the car, Zhu Yiqiao’s usual coldness melted slightly. She pursed her lips and pinched Ming Fei’s cheek.
“It doesn’t hurt.”
“Ah Fei is sweet.”
If it were before the kiss, Ming Fei would have thought Zhu Yiqiao was teasing her, just like she had said, wanting to see Ming Fei blush.
But this kiss made her understand that she truly was sweet.
But she still insisted, “Jiejie is sweeter.”
Every part of her was sweet.
Zhu Yiqiao clarified, “Pear-flavored.”
The warmth that had finally subsided on Ming Fei’s face surged back. She stopped arguing and, glancing at the time on the display screen, realized that they were only two minutes away from the villa. She belatedly realized—
That their first kiss had lasted twenty minutes.
Arriving at the villa, Ming Fei got out of the car and held Zhu Yiqiao’s hand.
As they walked from the garage to the main hall, Tuan Tuan, the puppy, darted out from the bushes, barked twice, wagged its tail at them, and then quickly ran into the main hall.
Soon, Zaozao the Great, learning that her two mommies were back, ran to them in her little bear slippers, holding her strawberry milk.
She called out “Mommy” twice and kissed each of them on the cheek.
After moving to the villa area, Aunt Wang had resigned due to personal matters. Ming Fei paid her salary and terminated the contract. Since then, she hadn’t hired any other housekeeping staff.
Because they had 0619 in the villa area.
Initially, she had thought that both 0619 and 008 were service robots. 008 was developed by the Q University lab, and 0619 was developed by the highest-level national laboratory in the Independent State, and both were comparable to professional housekeeping staff in every aspect.
It could do everything 008 couldn’t and could take care of a two-year-old child without any problems.
But Zhu Yiqiao told her that wasn’t the case.
For safety reasons, in addition to its service functions, 0619 had been secretly modified with high-level defense and protection functions. If they were in danger, 0619’s defense capabilities were far superior to those of a bodyguard.
Therefore, after discussing it with Zhu Yiqiao, Ming Fei decided to only hire a child development companion. When they weren’t home, a carefully selected senior companion would stay with Ming Zaozao.
But not long after, Ming Zaozao told Ming Fei that she didn’t like this mode of playing games and learning, she preferred playing with 0619 and 008. Having them accompany her was enough, and Mommy also had a lot of time to spend with her.
Ming Zaozao was a very smart child. She had shown intelligence far beyond her peers since she learned to speak, learning everything very quickly, almost never needing to be taught twice.
Ming Fei respected her daughter’s thoughts and never forced her to do anything she didn’t like, especially since the gene theft case hadn’t been solved yet, and robots were indeed safer than humans. After discussing it with Zhu Yiqiao, she stopped hiring child development companions.
At this moment, the villa was bathed in the sunset glow.
The light from the entrance hall shone outwards. Ming Fei, holding Ming Zaozao in her left arm and holding Zhu Yiqiao’s hand with her right, entered the living room. Ming Zaozao wriggled, telling Ming Fei that she wanted to get down and put away her toys.
There were new toys on the sofa, carpet, and table, all gifts from Zhu Yiqiao yesterday. Besides these toys, she had also received three sets of silver bracelets custom-made by Zhu Yiqiao. This was a tradition inherited from the old Government Alliance era; silver bracelets for children under three years old had to be given by their mothers.
Usually, after finishing playing, Ming Zaozao would put away her toys with 008, but her two mommies had come home a little early today, and she was still playing with Raspberry Bear.
Seeing this, Ming Fei put Ming Zaozao down. Ming Zaozao ran to the carpet and started tidying up, cheering herself on.
Ming Fei chuckled at her daughter’s cuteness.
She exchanged a look with Zhu Yiqiao and helped Ming Zaozao put away her pink toy house.
“Thank you, Mommy!” Ming Zaozao kissed each of them on the cheek. “Thank you, Mama!”
008 recorded this scene, a warm smile emoji on its display screen. Its recording didn’t stop after the toys were put away, because it also recorded them fishing and camping in the garden that night.
That night, the family of three still slept together in the bedroom on the third floor.
The difference was that tonight, Zaozao the Great turned into Storyteller the Great. Lying between them, she told her two mommies two fairy tales, and ended up falling asleep herself while telling the stories, while the two adults weren’t sleepy at all.
Separated by a small person, they looked at each other.
Soon, Ming Fei’s phone vibrated. Zhu Yiqiao gestured for her to look at it.
[Jiejie: I’ll read your love diary every day.]
[Jiejie: Me too, I like you more and more with each passing moment. Goodnight.]
Ming Fei was dazed by this sweet bomb, sleepiness creeping in.
[Thank you for today’s surprise, Jiejie.]
[Goodnight.]
Work continued as usual the next day. Compared to the unexpected incident on the first day, everything went smoothly on the second day of the final exams.
After collecting the exam papers, as Ming Fei left the exam room, she ran into three students. Because they could go home directly after the meeting in the classroom later, they all had smiles on their faces, which brightened when they greeted her.
“Teacher Ming, will you still be teaching us next semester?” the student in the middle asked.
Ming Fei nodded: “Mm, if the schedule doesn’t change, we’ll see each other again next semester.”
The three cheered: “That’s great!”
Ming Fei, infected by their happiness, smiled faintly. After chatting for a bit more, the three students waved goodbye and wished her a happy winter break. Ming Fei returned their wishes, holding the sealed exam papers and returning to the office.
Like the students, the teachers also had a winter break meeting, but because of the charity project, the faculty meeting was scheduled online for the day after tomorrow.
In the last exam, almost all the students handed in their papers early, so Ming Fei got off work much earlier today. She drove to the Trial Court to pick someone up, deciding to surprise Zhu Yiqiao.
But her surprise was quickly discovered by Zhu Yiqiao, because their hovercar terminal systems were connected.
Even so, Zhu Yiqiao still pretended to be unaware.
As a bunch of fluorescent hot air balloons floated in the sky, and Ming Fei appeared at the corner of the Trial Court with a gift, using the hot air balloons, triangular spray cars, and buildings as cover, Zhu Yiqiao finally did what she had wanted to do yesterday.
She kissed Ming Fei.
A light and brief kiss.
Ming Fei, her eyes closed slightly, looked at the breathtakingly beautiful person in her arms and couldn’t help but think,
…What had she been so worried about before?
She couldn’t resist anything related to Zhu Yiqiao.
Zhu Yiqiao had the same thought, but she was thinking further ahead, about their marriage agreement, for example.
“…Jiejie.”
“…Ah Fei.”
They spoke simultaneously, perfectly in sync. Ming Fei smiled and straightened Zhu Yiqiao’s cap, which was slightly askew from the kiss.
“What did Jiejie want to say?” she asked.
Zhu Yiqiao looked at her intently: “What about you?”
Ming Fei was honest: “I like you.”
Zhu Yiqiao replied, “Me too.”
They were like sparks igniting a dry grassland. A glance, an accidental touch, or a casual word could set the prairie ablaze.
Therefore, when they got into the hovercar, when Zhu Yiqiao saw the moonlight blue rose bouquet on the seat, the kiss was no longer brief.
It was hard to tell who leaned in first. Time seemed to slow down, then speed up. It was snowing outside, the car windows becoming wet. Their breaths were moist, and so was the kiss.
I can’t image 20 minutes of intense kissing.
