If that was the case, then why have Lu Zheng invite her over?
“Mu Shanyi.” Miao Zhu’s back stiffened as those superfluous emotions surged back to erode her. “Do you know who I am?”
Mu Shanyi laughed behind her upon hearing that.
“What did you call me?” She drew out the tone, lazy and indulgent. “No manners.”
Miao Zhu: “…”
“Don’t clean it up.” Mu Shanyi hooked Miao Zhu’s waist and turned, leading her out.
Kissing as they walked.
“You…” Miao Zhu’s resolve was crumbling, but the ambiguous answer wasn’t enough to ignite her passion. “Are you sober?”
“Hm?” Mu Shanyi pushed Miao Zhu onto the bed. Miao Zhu tried to sit up and ask clearly, but Mu Shanyi pressed her shoulders down.
“I’ve had quite a bit to drink.” Mu Shanyi undid Miao Zhu’s sleepwear buttons one by one with her fingers. The buttons were small, and it wasn’t going smoothly; she couldn’t manage such delicate movements right now. “…I might not control my strength well. Baby, tell me if I hurt you.”
Miao Zhu tried to struggle again, but Mu Shanyi looked up. “Principal Miao, were you focused during your performance today?”
“Where were your eyes looking?”
In an instant, Miao Zhu’s chest heaved dramatically, her voice carrying a nasal tone when she spoke again. “You gave her your contact info.”
“Who?”
Miao Zhu didn’t say, tears welling in her eyes.
“No.” Mu Shanyi had socialized a lot that evening; she thought for a moment. “Didn’t add her.”
She leaned down to kiss Miao Zhu’s eyes. “Baby, why do you always cry?”
From her eyes to the tip of her nose, finally hovering at her red lips, she asked softly, “Is it so grievance to be with me?”
“But what can be done? I only want you.”
Grievance?
I only want you.
Miao Zhu’s tears fell even harder, even turning into sobs.
Mu Shanyi kissed her, coaxing her with sweet words. Still, Miao Zhu’s mind grew foggy from Mu Shanyi’s presence. She opened herself up willingly, her whimpers growing stickier, like coquetry.
“Feels good?” Mu Shanyi shook out her hand. “Baby, you’re raining too, you know?”
Miao Zhu reached out to wrap her arms around Mu Shanyi’s neck, but Mu Shanyi caught her hand instead. “Do it yourself.”
Miao Zhu shook her head, her dark hair rippling on the snow-white sheets. “I want you…”
Mu Shanyi let out a soft hum from her nose.
She propped herself above Miao Zhu, her eyes hazy with drunkenness and swirling with desire. She leaned down, lips brushing Miao Zhu’s earlobe, her breath crushed into damp hot mist. Her sexy gasps flooded Miao Zhu’s ear like molten lava, melting her completely, making her lose all sense of self.
The rain outside poured harder, lashing violently at the earth.
“Can you kneel properly?”
“Get on all fours.”
Mu Shanyi draped over Miao Zhu’s back, her other hand gripping Miao Zhu’s neck, forcing her to lift her chin.
“Higher.”
Miao Zhu began to tremble as the familiar sensation roared in.
“Not yet.” Mu Shanyi controlled the pace, varying the intensity. “Hold on a bit longer, baby. Can you count to ten?”
“Count yourself.”
Miao Zhu gasped rapidly; she was already at the edge.
Lost in the haze, she obeyed the command:
“1…”
“2…”
“Once, twice, and you don’t want to see me.” Mu Shanyi interrupted at will, her hand on the neck tightening and loosening. “Want to end it?”
“No, it’s not…” The excessive sensory stimulation made Miao Zhu’s pupils dilate, everything before her eyes twisting and distorting as she uncontrollably clamped her legs together.
“It’s just an engagement,” Mu Shanyi scoffed lightly. “So what?”
Miao Zhu was pinned down tightly, her face buried in the soft down pillow, her nerves washed over again and again by the torrential rain outside the window.
It had been raining nonstop, the only sound between heaven and earth being the patter of rain.
The room finally fell quiet.
Miao Zhu woke from utter exhaustion to find herself still in Mu Shanyi’s arms.
The darkness turned the bed beneath her into a small boat adrift in the raging storm, an environment perfect for cuddling. Mu Shanyi’s embrace was warm and comfortable, inviting her to sink into it.
Miao Zhu quietly shifted toward the edge of the bed, slipping out of that embrace.
She shouldn’t indulge.
Mu Shanyi followed, her knee pressing into the crook of Miao Zhu’s leg, embedding Miao Zhu back into her arms once more.
She was awake too.
Time seemed to pause, their touching skin conveying each other’s body heat and heartbeat.
Miao Zhu realized her own resolve was so fragile; she couldn’t bring herself to leave that embrace again.
“Why are you awake?” Mu Shanyi asked, her voice hoarse.
Miao Zhu’s mood stiffened, her body tensing along with it.
Mu Shanyi noticed the change in the person in her arms and gently stroked her arm. “Did I scare you?”
“No…” Miao Zhu relaxed her limbs after a moment. “Are you sober now?”
Mu Shanyi: “Mm.”
Miao Zhu: “I was worried about you, afraid you’d feel unwell from the alcohol.”
Mu Shanyi fell silent and tightened her embrace.
Miao Zhu turned in Mu Shanyi’s arms, and in the faint light, they gazed at each other.
When the kiss fell, Miao Zhu closed her eyes.
She and Mu Shanyi had no future. Since it would end eventually anyway, she had to make the most of every meeting to avoid regrets.
