Miss Luo Yan’s Feet Are Buried With Corpses v4c33

The God of Malice is Watching the Land: Chapter 33 Miss Luo Yan’s Feet Are Buried With Corpses

In reality, the old world had already collapsed.

After losing the support of the Gods and the World Will, the original world, like a skeleton stripped of its bones, couldn’t possibly be maintained.

The appearance of Calamities and disasters was just a manifestation. Even if the Calamities were stopped and the disasters contained, the impending destruction of the old world couldn’t be averted.

Countless brilliant achievements of civilization, the striving New Era, the glorious Old Era, were all about to disappear completely with the world’s collapse.

The Calamity monster’s arrogance wasn’t without reason, but its desolate instincts failed to notice one thing.

—Miss Luo Yan was a true God.

Unlike the World Will, which was limited by the world, her existence could influence the entire world, even the basic rules of this universe.

This overly powerful influence became “contamination.”

As a true God, the divine powers of the Gods were as simple as children’s toys to her.

Picking up these toys, she discarded everything from the old world and, like building blocks, pieced together a new world on the foundation of the old.

Until now, this structure was only missing the last block, but she stopped.

Entrusting the last block to the Witch of Absolute Death.

“You are the God of the new world, Absolute Death…”

Luo Yan whispered, the divine powers manifesting around her, reappearing one by one on the Witch of Absolute Death.

At this moment, the two beautiful girls with similar faces had become almost identical.

But soon, the divine powers around Luo Yan dimmed one by one, and she gradually returned to her true form as the God “malice.”

“Luo… Luo Yan…”

The Witch of Absolute Death called out this name she hadn’t acknowledged before, her voice carrying a hint of crying and confusion.

Tears unknowingly welled up in her eyes.

“This is your mission,” a faint smile appeared on the corner of Luo Yan’s mouth, “And also… my wish.

“It is… the hope of everyone.”

To save this world, to break free from the shackles of “malice,” to end the cycle of despair…

Countless beings had made countless efforts, and the Gods had waited in confusion and silence for countless years, finally obtaining this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Breaking free from the despair brought by a God, perhaps very few existences in the vast universe could achieve this.

When Luo Yan awakened in this world, she knew nothing, like a child.

She experienced true growth in this world, experienced the joys and sorrows of living beings, and the will to fight tenaciously against the Gods.

From that moment on, she was no longer the God “malice,” but just… a girl walking in the present world, Luo Yan.

Until now, upon contacting the “malice” beyond the starry sky again, this self-identity didn’t change as the Witch of End had predicted.

Very simply, the God “malice” had never experienced anything. From beginning to end, It was a blank slate, just like Luo Yan when she first arrived in this world, just a colorless light.

So now, Luo Yan was the God “malice,” and the God “malice” was Luo Yan.

However, Luo Yan still didn’t know how to control the rules she possessed, couldn’t truly control “malice.”

Whether as Luo Yan or as a God, she was still very young.

Therefore… to save this world, there was only one method left.

“This world is beautiful, whether the old world of the past, or the new world of the present,” Luo Yan looked into the distance, her gaze falling upon the doodle she created, “So… Absolute Death, promise me, take everyone and live on.”

“…What about you?”

The Witch of Absolute Death was at a loss.

“Me? I’m ‘malice,’ the only God in this world, there’s no need to worry about me.”

Luo Yan smiled brightly. Although her appearance was almost identical to Absolute Death’s, when she smiled, it always gave a different feeling.

It felt… like Miss Luo Yan was even more beautiful.

The Witch of Absolute Death looked at Luo Yan, seeing the light and darkness in Miss Luo Yan’s eyes.

She reached out slightly, but didn’t know what to say.

“But I… just want to be with you…”

Saving the world, everything she did, was for you.

But she didn’t say it out loud.

As she hesitated, Luo Yan suddenly grabbed the Witch of Absolute Death’s hand again, but this time, it was the hand holding the scepter.

“Just… for me.” Luo Yan looked up, meeting the Witch of Absolute Death’s gaze. “It’s a pity… the time we could spend together… was too short.”

Yes, it was truly… too short…

The Witch of Absolute Death didn’t look away, but gazed at Luo Yan with longing.

How she wished time could stop forever at this moment…

But it couldn’t be done.

Their encounter was destined to end in separation.

“…I understand.”

The Witch of Absolute Death took a deep breath and raised the scepter, along with Luo Yan’s hand.

—Absolute Death, Life, Death.

Instantly, black Manjusaka flowers bloomed all over the mountains and plains, bringing not the aura of death, but the meaning of life.

All the doodle images gradually faded, becoming more and more realistic.

The last building block of the new world—life—was finally put in place.

From then on, there was a cycle of life and death in the new world, Higanbana flowers blooming and withering, the beginning and end of life seemingly within this single moment.

Thus, everything from the old world completely collapsed, replaced by a brand new world.

A new world far stronger and more beautiful than the old.

“In the New Era, there were energy convergence points called ‘Embers’,” Luo Yan suddenly said, “It is said that they were created by the human civilization of the Old Era in its dying moments, left for the next civilization.

“As long as the Ember doesn’t extinguish, human civilization will not perish.”

“And the current new world… is the ‘Ember’ I left for the Gods and humanity.”

Luo Yan tilted her head and smiled at the Witch of Absolute Death, “An Ember without ‘malice’ contamination.”

Indeed, the most important point was that in the new world… there was no “malice” at all.

Before creating the new world, Luo Yan deliberately erased all traces she left behind, not even a single memory remained.

This wasn’t sealing, but direct deletion. The new world inherited almost everything from the old world, except for Luo Yan and “malice.”

Just then, the Witch of Absolute Death felt her consciousness separating from her body. Luo Yan held her hand and led her away from the original body.

This body was the remains left by the previous Witch of Absolute Death, the only remaining “malice” in the new world.

And what was born from this body, the brand new Witch of Absolute Death, the God of the new world, her consciousness was completely immune to “malice” contamination.

The Saint’s Artificial Witch Project wasn’t a complete failure. She truly couldn’t create a God who could avoid “malice” contamination, because the malice of the old world couldn’t be eradicated.

Any God, upon contacting the old world, upon becoming the World Will supporting the world, would inevitably be eroded by “malice.”

But the new world didn’t have this problem, so Absolute Death, becoming the God of the new world, was an unprecedented World Will in this vast starry sky, uncontaminated by “malice.”

But what was the price?

It was… forgetting.

The Witch of Absolute Death could feel that a part of her memory was rapidly disappearing, even the impressions in the depths of her subconscious were gradually fading.

The figure before her gently leaned in, a soft touch on her lips.

“So… rry…”

A voice, lingering somewhere unknown, sounded, but looking up, there was nothing there.

She tried her best, wanting to find the person before her, wanting to remember her forever.

However…

She couldn’t see anything anymore.

Only the lingering warmth on her lips, bringing a sense of something that once existed.

Absolute Death’s consciousness gradually synchronized with the new world, falling into a slumber until the very end.

Luo Yan watched Absolute Death leave, and the Witch’s Remains she left behind merged with Luo Yan—in a way, they were originally one.

The life given to Luo Yan by the Saint and Mister Zero also included these remains, which was why the Witch of Absolute Death could always connect with her.

In a way, the current situation had actually returned to the Saint’s final wish.

“Finally… it’s done…”

Luo Yan whispered, looking at the beautiful, newborn world, then looked up at the endless “malicious” starry sky.

There was no “malice” contamination in the new world, but that didn’t mean it couldn’t be contaminated again. At least the current Luo Yan couldn’t control the spread of “malice.”

Let alone the Calamity planet monsters roaming beyond the starry sky, each one far surpassing the “World of Malice” that appeared before.

Now, the dazzling dream of the starry sky, used by the Gods to protect the world, covering the entire sky, had shattered, and the new world didn’t have much time left.

To prevent the tragedy from repeating, there was only one method.

That was the mad plan that even the Witch of End found unbelievable, the deal Luo Yan made with the Gods of the old world.

—To take this reborn world and escape this starry sky filled with “malice.”

More precisely, just like Illusion, escaping to another world where the God “malice” didn’t exist.

However, this time, it wasn’t just the “embers” left by one or two races that were escaping, but the entire world.

Within the bizarre illusion, Illusion slowly raised her head, seemingly peering at the “malice” filling the world outside the illusion, and the shattered, reborn new world,

“A wandering home…”

The wholehearted assistance of a God. If the “Promised Land” back then could also escape the world-ending crisis in this way, perhaps the tragedy wouldn’t have happened.

However, there were no ifs.

A God like Miss Luo Yan would probably never appear again.

Illusion put down the sleeping Shadow in her arms, sent her back to the new world that had fallen into eternal slumber, and took the final step.

Her small figure instantly appeared above the starry sky, shoulder to shoulder with Luo Yan.

“How much time is left?”

“About fifteen minutes.”

“Enough time to talk.” Illusion nodded and whispered, “You are a God, right?”

A question she already knew the answer to, but Illusion just wanted to hear the current Luo Yan say it herself.

“The same existence that destroyed your homeland.”

Only after truly contacting what lay beyond the starry sky, returning to her essence as a God, could Luo Yan understand the terrifying and despairing existence in Illusion’s memories.

The same as her current self.

Moreover, Luo Yan could sense the remnants of the God’s mark within Illusion, a mark left by the God’s rule.

This mark would be considered an extension of the God, and the God would continue to spread from this mark, unless it was covered by the rule of another God.

Just like Illusion’s situation. She accidentally escaped to this world filled with “malice,” and this despairing environment ironically allowed her to survive under the protection of another God.

Precisely because of this, Luo Yan absolutely couldn’t leave any trace of herself in the new world, not even a single one.

Illusion actively appeared, also because she knew that Luo Yan would definitely come looking for her in the end.

“Do you want to stay here?”

Luo Yan looked at Illusion and asked.

Illusion, marked by another God, would never be contaminated by “malice,” because she had already been given another rule.

And if she stayed here, Illusion would never be found by the other God, “malice” also suppressed the rules of other Gods.

Facing Luo Yan’s invitation, Illusion was silent for a moment, then said,

“…Do you want me to stay?”

“No.” Luo Yan shook her head and whispered, “I know very well that this isn’t a pleasant place, even though I caused all this.”

The countless Calamity monsters, the lifeless, deathly silent starry sky, this was the absolute forbidden zone of life.

Only by reaching beyond the starry sky could one understand how great the original ten Primordial Demons, the ten Gods, truly were.

Their cruel actions ironically made their planet the only surviving, precarious isolated island.

Although without Luo Yan’s intervention, this situation wouldn’t last for many more cycles.

“Truly… a disappointing answer.” Illusion smiled, “But this is you, Miss Luo Yan, the you who has become a God is no different from the you I once knew.”

“…I have always been me.”

Luo Yan slightly averted her gaze.

“Miss Luo Yan, you probably can’t erase the mark left by ‘Destruction’ on me, but at this point, it doesn’t matter anymore.” Illusion whispered, “I came to ask you for a favor.”

“What is it?” Luo Yan asked.

“If you have the chance, can you try going to my homeland?” Illusion’s small face was filled with seriousness. “Don’t worry, my homeland, the ‘Promised Land,’ has long been occupied by the rule of another God, there are no living beings there.

“If you see the God ‘Destruction,’ I hope you can say hello for me.”

“…Hmm?”

Luo Yan raised an eyebrow.

“I… a Dream and Illusory Fox, will definitely return to my homeland one day, to avenge my race. Gods are not invincible…”

Illusion clenched her small pink fists slightly, then suddenly realized that the Miss Luo Yan before her was a God, and hurriedly waved her hands,

“Miss Luo Yan, I wasn’t referring to you…”

“I’m indeed not invincible,” Luo Yan interrupted her, a hint of melancholy in her tone, “I don’t even fully understand my own existence… I can’t even deal with these Calamity monsters all over the sky.”

She paused, then looked at the slumbering new world,

“…I can’t even be with them.”

Everything she had experienced in the past was now deeply buried in Luo Yan’s memories.

Seeing the human side of Luo Yan, Illusion was stunned for a moment, then chuckled softly,

“However, Miss Luo Yan, you did show me another side of Gods.”

“Perhaps… you’ve actually only seen me, one God.”

Luo Yan rested her chin on her hand and murmured casually.

“One more thing,” Illusion blinked, “You still have a debt, you owe me two hundred silver coins and a promise.”

“…But I gave my last few coins to the Saints.”

Back then, wanting to leave a token for the Saints undergoing Heroic Spirit Transformation to return to the present world, Luo Yan searched her pockets and could only find a few coins. Everything else were items with deep personal meaning to her and couldn’t be given away casually.

“It’s alright, I came here precisely to resolve this problem.” Illusion put her hands on her hips and said, “Send me away. I carry the mark of a God and can’t go with the new world… Consider the debt my travel expenses.”

Two hundred silver coins, in exchange for a journey across dimensions.

“This deal… is quite a bargain.” Luo Yan chuckled wryly and sighed, “I agree.”

After obtaining Luo Yan’s consent, Illusion finally closed her eyes with satisfaction. Although she wouldn’t be contaminated by “malice,” directly being in this world still carried the risk of erosion.

Persisting until now was already her limit.

The small little fox merged into the dazzling, multicolored light, an expanding illusion enveloping her body.

And before this, Luo Yan had already erased all traces of herself from Illusion, including her memories.

The spread of “malice” should only be limited to this tragic starry sky, so that at least the tragedy she brought wouldn’t be repeated in other worlds.

The last fifteen minutes, only a little time left.

The Calamity monsters, completely contaminated by “malice” in the starry sky, had already sensed the birth of the new world, and they greedily yearned for its power.

Luo Yan could control “malice,” but she couldn’t control these creations contaminated by “malice.”

So she knew very well that there wasn’t much time left.

However… it was enough.

“One last thing.”

Luo Yan closed her eyes, her consciousness instantly sweeping through the starry sky, searching every corner in less than a breath.

In an inconspicuous corner, a small, dim figure was falling, so small that no Calamity monster noticed her.

“Cecilia…”

Before the “World of Malice” was slain, Cecilia had already left that monster’s body and entered the starry sky above.

But she was so severely contaminated by “malice” that even Luo Yan couldn’t remove the contamination while ensuring Cecilia’s safety, so she had completely lost the possibility of returning to the new world.

Whether it was misfortune or fortune, there was no one in the new world who cared about Cecilia now. Her only connection was Miss Luo Yan.

Luo Yan opened her eyes, and Cecilia was already in her arms.

The malice contamination made this poor little girl’s face contorted in pain, and she resisted the twisting sensations assaulting her consciousness until Luo Yan soothed them.

Although she couldn’t eradicate the “malice” contamination, she could prevent it from affecting Cecilia’s consciousness.

Cecilia opened her eyes and saw the familiar face again.

Countless times… no matter how many times, when she woke up, she always saw Big Sister Luo Yan…

But everything the Demoness of Terror did during this time remained in Cecilia’s mind, indelible.

“Big Sister Luo Yan, Cecilia, Cecilia… seems to have done many… bad things…”

She started sobbing.

“It’s alright, it’s all over now, Cecilia, I’m here.”

Luo Yan held Cecilia and comforted her softly.

A reassuring aura enveloped Cecilia, and Cecilia, who had spent a long time in fear and panic, finally relaxed slightly.

Her stiff, small body softened, and in Luo Yan’s embrace, she fell into a deep sleep with tears in her eyes, enjoying her long-lost dreams.

The nearby Calamity monsters approached, their countless giant bodies, almost as large as the new world, greedily eyeing it.

But they didn’t dare to approach the only pure, silver-white light in this contaminated starry sky, yet their uncontrollable, tyrannical instincts still threatened the new world.

If it weren’t for this silver-white light suppressing them, they would have already rushed towards the new world, devouring this powerful planet, uncontaminated by “malice.”

“It seems… it’s almost time.”

Luo Yan lowered her head slightly, looking down at the land below.

She could see that the new world had stabilized, the new World Will had formed, and everything was ready.

The suppressed tyrannical instincts of the surrounding Calamity monsters were also about to reach their limit. At that time, even if Luo Yan was still here, they would recklessly charge towards this delicious meal.

But it didn’t matter, everything was about to end.

Luo Yan temporarily sent Cecilia into the Void, then floated in the starry sky.

Her long silver-white hair spread out gently, and an unimaginable majesty emanated from her beautiful face.

This was the majesty of a God.

Even though the size of these Calamity monsters was thousands, even tens of thousands of times larger than this figure, before the current Miss Luo Yan, they were like children’s toys.

…Just laughable playthings.

The reason Luo Yan didn’t want to destroy these Calamity monsters was because she knew that these Calamity monsters were the World Wills of the past.

They once carried countless tragic stories, and she, as the final witness, saw them reach their demise.

But that didn’t mean these Calamity monsters could rival the power of a God.

From beginning to end, when “malice” appeared in this vast starry sky, everything was under the God’s control.

Even though the God herself didn’t want to see this.

Gods and mortals were separated by an insurmountable chasm.

And now, it was time to put an end, a slightly hopeful end, to this tragedy that had lasted for thousands, even tens of thousands of years.

“Dimensional Gate… Open!”

Luo Yan said softly, in human language.

These were the true divine words.

There was no need for strange syllables. No matter what language a God’s will was expressed in, Her command was absolute.

The Calamity monsters, which had been observing and eyeing the new world, now fled in terror, frantically moving away from its location.

All the mad eyes open in the starry sky closed at this moment, and those that couldn’t close instantly exploded.

This was a Dimensional Gate that could only be opened by the power of a God.

Luo Yan had just told Illusion that perhaps Illusion had only seen her, one God.

Because Illusion escaped from a destroyed world, and from her description of the God “Destruction,” this tyrannical existence couldn’t possibly open a Dimensional Gate on its own.

However, only by reaching the level of a God could one have the ability to open a “Dimensional Gate.” Mortals could never reach this realm.

So… perhaps Illusion hadn’t actually seen “Destruction,” but only an existence influenced by “Destruction,” just like the Calamity monsters influenced by “malice.”

The true God “Destruction” opened the Dimensional Gate, leaving the last sliver of hope for the living beings of that world.

Of course, this was just a guess; Luo Yan wasn’t certain.

The opened Dimensional Gate didn’t look like a “gate” in the usual sense. Even Luo Yan didn’t know its form of existence; this was also her first time seeing such a thing.

The reason Luo Yan could open it was simply by following her innate instincts as a God.

Like ripples created by a stone thrown into water, the “Dimensional Gate” appeared as an invisible fluctuation, slowly spreading outwards.

Luo Yan’s action of opening the Dimensional Gate just now was like throwing a stone into water, impacting the dimensional barrier with unimaginable divine power.

The larger the stone, the wider the ripples spread, and the larger the “Dimensional Gate.”

That was why the Calamity monsters frantically fled, because the act of opening a “Dimensional Gate” was no different from a large-scale impact of divine power.

At the same time, the new world, at the center of the ripples, gradually disappeared into the “Dimensional Gate,” as if sinking into water.

And as Illusion requested, Luo Yan opened another “Dimensional Gate” specifically for her, allowing Illusion to go to another world.

The final destination of the new world and Illusion… Luo Yan didn’t know; this was already the limit of what she could do.

She watched the new world leave, and only after the “Dimensional Gate” closed did she close her eyes, slightly tired.

Now, in this desolate, silent starry sky, only “malice” remained.

……

“Where… am I…”

After being unconscious for an unknown amount of time, Cecilia struggled to open her eyes.

Her little head was empty, and she felt like she had lost many, many memories.

This should have been distressing, but Cecilia felt an inexplicable sense of ease.

As if those memories were all bad things…

Now?

Cecilia looked around and found herself in a large, luxuriously decorated room, lying on a large, soft bed, surrounded by many plush toys.

“Wow…”

Cecilia sat up and looked at everything around her in wonder.

She casually picked up a plush toy from the bed, got off the bed, and carefully examined the room with her big eyes.

Soon, Cecilia found the most eye-catching thing in the room.

A mural, a giant mural, almost completely covering the wall opposite the bed.

She walked closer and immediately saw herself in the mural.

In the painting, she had beautifully styled pink, curly hair, completely different from her usual messy hair, holding a small plush toy identical to the one she was currently holding, smiling and standing next to a certain figure.

Cecilia followed this figure and looked up, her gaze landing on its face.

Very familiar.

“This is… Big Sister Luo Yan!”

“You’re awake?”

A familiar voice sounded behind her, and Cecilia immediately turned around.

A stunningly beautiful girl stood at the doorway. The first thing that caught her eye was her dazzling silver hair, and her captivating pale red eyes, all identical to the Big Sister Luo Yan in her memory.

Identical to the Big Sister Luo Yan in the mural.

“Mm!”

Cecilia ran over and threw herself into Luo Yan’s arms, laughing happily.

Although she had forgotten many things and didn’t even know where she was, it didn’t matter.

Because as long as Big Sister Luo Yan was here, it was enough.

Luo Yan looked at Cecilia, who had finally awakened, in her arms, a faint smile appearing on the corner of her lips.

She looked up and around. In her vision, there was no room, no mural, nothing at all.

Wherever her gaze fell, there was only the deathly silence and darkness filled with “malice,” not even the roaming Calamity monsters dared to approach.

This was a dead world.

Only the graves of the Gods remained.

Miss Luo Yan stood here, her feet resting upon graves.

Volume Ending Notes – The End, Also a New Beginning 5

First, celebratory confetti! Yay~

Miss Luo Yan’s story completely ends here. There might be some side stories later, but it depends on my mood, I’m not in the mood recently…

Just like I said before, in the end, everyone found salvation, but it’s not a happy ending in the traditional sense.

Calling it a bad ending isn’t quite right either, perhaps “bittersweet” is more appropriate.

Actually, from the end of the second volume, with the appearance of the Witch of Envy, this ending was already destined.

This is a very despairing worldview. The spread of “malice” forced the Gods to sever their limbs to survive, but that could only delay the time of being completely eroded by “malice.”

The Saint, that is, the former Witch of Absolute Death and Mister Zero, who gave life to Luo Yan, strived to break the meaningless cycle of eras spanning tens of thousands of years, but ultimately failed.

The prematurely interrupted cycle also brought forward the time of “malice” erosion. The Church of the End Gods was the Gods’ last struggle, but it also ended in failure.

No matter what, their efforts only led from one failure to another.

Until finally, Miss Luo Yan brought the last glimmer of hope, and her ending wasn’t self-sacrifice, but returning to the past, watching over this tomb-like starry sky just like before.

But what was different from before was that she did so as “Miss Luo Yan,” not just as “malice.”

Actually, when I was writing the latter half of the story, I felt quite depressed, coupled with work reaching its busiest period, and because of some unforeseen circumstances, the direction of the story was already beyond my control.

Even I, as the author, couldn’t completely change this ending. A deus ex machina that violates the established worldview isn’t my preferred writing style.

Miss Luo Yan couldn’t completely resolve the disaster brought by “malice.” The current ending was already the best she could do.

Just like the God “Destruction” in the previous book, who couldn’t break free from Its own rules until the very end, Miss Luo Yan was also bound by her own rules.

However, compared to “Destruction,” Miss Luo Yan was undoubtedly lucky.

In the conspiracy of the fallen Gods, she was able to briefly detach from the rule of “malice.”

And because of the Saint’s salvation plan, she left indelible memories as a human.

From then on, “malice” wasn’t just “malice.” Miss Luo Yan had the best understanding and interpretation of herself; this was her unique personality.

Alright, overall, this is actually a rather personal story, not everyone will like Miss Luo Yan, and I don’t expect them to, as long as I like it, it’s fine.

That’s how willful I am!

I’ve said everything I wanted to say. Even if you disagree with this ending, there’s nothing you can do, the forum is locked now, I can’t see anything you say!

T/n: Looks like the author might still put out some extras—I’ll stay tuned for that 🙂
