Chapter 124: Don’t Like Thick Milk Tea
Qin Luo had woken up late, and it had been a bit of a struggle.
Wang Xi had not waited for her boss at the buffet restaurant. She had specially ordered a bowl of oatmeal, a bowl of hot porridge, and had had someone cut a fresh fruit platter and send it to the conference room. By the time the hot porridge had cooled, she had finally seen the late-arriving Qin Luo.
“Is Director Shen not here?” Wang Xi placed a placemat on the table and arranged the bowls and chopsticks. “I also ordered a bowl of hot porridge for her.”
“Thank you.” Qin Luo’s face was full of spring breeze. “She’s still sleeping. We’ll talk about it when she wakes up.”
As Qin Luo was eating, Wang Xi went over the itinerary with her. First was the regular screenwriters’ meeting. After the storm, the review had been strengthened, and the original content had been slightly changed. They had to finalize the draft before the reshoot.
After the screenwriters’ meeting, it was the final recording of the last episode of the reading group. They had to coordinate with Qin Luo on the content to avoid any mistakes. And the very last thing was the negotiation of two copyright invitations.
Qin Luo was chewing her oatmeal, her voice a little hoarse. “Shouldn’t the copyright negotiations be with Logos? Why did they make an appointment with me?”
“They said that President Liu has gone on a business trip to Xiamen, and they can’t make the decision themselves.”
“Oh? Another business trip?”
Qin Luo swallowed. She had also tasted the flavor of love. Last night, she had been unable to suppress the thought of wanting to taste it again and again, so she understood Liu Jia’s business trip to Xiamen.
“Then I’ll just talk to them myself.”
Wang Xi saw that Qin Luo had not brought a hair tie, and the ends of her hair were blocking her glasses.
As an excellent assistant, she naturally had to be prepared for everything for her boss. She took something out of her pocket. “Here’s a hair tie for you.”
Qin Luo couldn’t help but exclaim: This is why she can’t live without a female assistant.
She took it in her palm, said thank you, and immediately tied up her hair.
Her hair was neat now, but… the scratch marks on her boss’s neck had appeared again!
This…
Wang Xi took out a powder compact and concealer from her pocket. “Sister Qin, your old wound has relapsed. You have a video conference in a bit. You should probably cover it up.”
Then she took something else out, a small rectangular bag.
“And this.”
“What is this?”
Qin Luo saw that the small pouch was quite beautifully designed and couldn’t help but take it. She opened it and saw—
—a bunch of fancy finger cots.
“I got them from the live stream department.” Wang Xi stood beside her and responded to her boss with a knowing smile between adults. “It’s fine, Sister Qin. I don’t need them anymore. I wish you happiness.”
The screenwriters’ meeting lasted all morning. Besides reviewing the logical audit, Qin Luo also highlighted the high-risk content and asked the screenwriting team to go back and see if the female revenge line was too extreme, to prevent subsequent promotional problems.
She also, according to the list given by the production assistant, had a separate chat with the young screenwriter who had written the sacrifice of the forensic pathologist role, to test if the other had any motive for the crime.
But the other was a recent graduate who had been working in Nanjing. They had talked about the deduction of the character relationships, including the motive, the arc, and the growth line.
From a screenwriter’s perspective, Qin Luo had determined that this screenwriter was not suspicious. The script was purely a commercial creation and did not involve any other purpose.
Qin Luo also asked her if the script was kept confidential.
The other had said that after the script was passed, it had been thrown directly into the recycling bin, and there was no need to spread it. Only then was Qin Luo relieved.
Halfway through the meeting, Qin Luo looked at her watch.
She thought that since Shen Yiyi had had three orgasms last night, it was right for her to sleep a little longer. But it was almost ten now, and she hadn’t sent her a message yet. She couldn’t just keep sleeping.
Qin Luo stood up to stretch and rest, and asked Wang Xi to go to the restaurant to cut a few portions of fruit and send them to her room, preferably the ones with a lot of juice and that could reduce inflammation and clear heat. She even gave a request: “Kiwi and pineapple are the best choices.”
Finally, as Wang Xi was leaving, Qin Luo remembered that she had to have dinner with You Ning tonight.
“By the way, book a dinner reservation, a private room.”
At noon, Li Wenping and the head of the production company came to the hotel to have lunch with Qin Luo. They ate until 2:30 in the afternoon and finally decided on the direction of the production’s resumption of work. This trip to Beijing was also coming to an end.
When Qin Luo returned to her room, she was so tired she couldn’t breathe.
She swiped open the door. Shen Yiyi was curled up on the sofa, reading a book.
There was a disposable sheet under her, and her head was resting on a cushion, but the cushion was wrapped in her own shirt. She was hugging her knees, and the book was resting on her knees, a soft and fluffy ball.
She didn’t know if she was asleep or in a daze. She hadn’t turned a page for a long time.
Ever since she had cried her heart out at her house the day before yesterday, Shen Yiyi had returned to her static state, lukewarm, unhurried.
It was the same last night.
Qin Luo could see that when Shen Yiyi was moved, she was really moved.
When they kissed, she would kiss back, but she wouldn’t cling or bite, just gently hold. She would even offer her neck for him to bite, and was willing to give him her back to press against. No matter how Qin Luo kissed, or what position she used, Shen Yiyi would cooperate. Even when she was pressed against the unclean glass, she had only resisted for a moment. And when Qin Luo had held her waist and had bent her backward, she had gone along with it, fitting against her as if she had no spine, and had laid out a grand dream in front of Qin Luo—as if they were a match made in heaven.
But Qin Luo understood that she was just going along with it, not catering to her, and had never taken the initiative to respond or comfort her.
Shen Yiyi did not ask for help.
From this point of view, Shen Yiyi was more like a kitten. When they made love, her voice was always half a beat slow. She didn’t know if she was perceiving or weighing.
In just a few days, Qin Luo had come to understand Shen Yiyi deeply.
Shen Yiyi couldn’t stand it being slow for too long.
So Qin Luo would use edging and orgasm to get her to give feedback, even if it was just a little bit of praise.
But she was just lukewarm. When she was about to come, she would also stop her voice quickly. The closer she got to the climax, the quieter she would be. Even if her muscles were tense, and her face was filled with a pain that couldn’t surface, she would only hum a couple of times and hold her neck tightly, patting her a couple of times to urge her on. This not-so-deep, not-so-shallow feeling made Qin Luo feel unfulfilled and easily get carried away, and she would ask for it again and again, until her waist was soft and trembling, and her mermaid line was faintly contracting, before she would stop. Qin Luo also felt very sorry for forcing her to express herself in this way afterward and had praised her many times.
But Shen Yiyi didn’t like to hear it. She would hide back in the blanket and cover her head, keeping a distance from her. Qin Luo liked to hold her. Her skin was cool and soft, but it would slowly warm up after they were done, becoming a hot cat’s belly, soft to the touch everywhere.
“Why don’t you go to bed?”
Qin Luo put the file on the desk, went to wash her hands first, and finally sat next to Shen Yiyi. She looked at the fruit that had been sent to the table and had only had two bites. “Is it hurting?”
Shen Yiyi was resting her head on Qin Luo’s shirt and turned a page of her book. “Before the end of this month, no more.”
So fierce and so cute.
Qin Luo pretended not to hear and forked a piece of pineapple into her mouth. “You remember to give me your ID card. I’ll have Wang Xi book a plane ticket for you.”
She was reluctant to let Shen Yiyi squeeze in with others on the high-speed rail. What if her back hurt after sitting for five hours?
“I’m talking to you!!” Shen Yiyi closed her book and slammed it on Qin Luo’s thigh. “Did you hear me?”
Qin Luo liked to see Shen Yiyi anxious. There was a clumsy feeling of not being able to be teased. She wanted to hold her. She was afraid that she would think she was dirty, so she took off her outer shirt, leaving only a clean long shirt, and reached out to hold her, pulling her onto her body. “How come there’s a limit to the number of times?”
Shen Yiyi resisted being held and pressed her hands against Qin Luo’s shoulders. “Aren’t you tired?”
Qin Luo shrugged. She didn’t think that something that was purely enjoyable could be tiring. Besides, she was the one whose arms were so sore she couldn’t lift them. “Did I hurt you? Are you uncomfortable?”
Shen Yiyi looked at her. “Don’t you know what you did last night?”
…
I do.
Qin Luo remembered that Shen Yiyi had said before bed last night that she didn’t like thick milk. Qin Luo had asked her if it was because the thick milk tea was too deep and too satisfying. But she had been warned with a pinch on the mouth and had been given a few curses as a blessing.
Qin Luo promised, “If you don’t like it, then I won’t have thick milk. I’ll change to another flavor.”
Shen Yiyi was too lazy to bother with her. She took back the book on her lap and started to read it again.
In the afternoon, Qin Luo had taken a nap and had wanted Shen Yiyi to sleep with her, but the other had resolutely refused to get into bed. Qin Luo had said that she was very sleepy and tired and definitely had no energy to make passionate love. Only then had Shen Yiyi reluctantly agreed to lie down.
Before she had closed her eyes, Qin Luo had asked again, “Why don’t you like thick milk?”
Shen Yiyi had simply covered her face with a pillow. “Because it hurts!!”
Her whole body was indeed sore, especially after she had taken a nap with Qin Luo. The guest room center had called to remind the guest that it was time to go down for dinner, and only then had the two woken up.
Especially since Qin Luo had a short memory. She was holding Shen Yiyi’s neck and nibbling on it, saying that it was fine to leave You Ning for a while. Did she want to try a new flavor? Anyway, Shen Yiyi was not very tolerant and would come very quickly. It would be over in a bit.
Shen Yiyi held Qin Luo’s neck with both hands, using the force of a counter-grapple.
“Qin Luo, weren’t you the one who wanted to send me to the police station yesterday afternoon? Now you’re all happy?”
The catering department of the group hotel always had its own specialty. The head chef of the hotel where Qin Luo was staying was best at Huaiyang cuisine. The menu had been ordered in advance by Wang Xi. Before Qin Luo had gone down, she had notified them that they could serve the dishes in advance. Anyway, they were all their own people. There was no need to be formal. As long as they were full, it was fine.
Qin Luo was the first to push open the door of the private room, and Shen Yiyi followed closely behind.
The last time this scene had appeared was at the noodle shop. At that time, she was wearing Qin Luo’s shirt and was sitting opposite Qin Luo. You Ning had smiled lightly, a very shallow smile. She was afraid that if she smiled too hard, it would be awkward, or that she didn’t want to lose too badly.
“Hello, we’ve met at the production before. Shen Yiyi.” Shen Yiyi introduced herself politely, but she did not extend her hand.
You Ning nodded. “You Ning.”
Before she had come, Qin Luo had told her the reason. You Ning knew that she couldn’t avoid meeting with Shen Yiyi and had readily agreed to the invitation. But when she had come and was sitting opposite the woman, who was as calm as usual, her heart ached uncontrollably.
The way Shen Yiyi looked at her was so calm, with no mockery, indifferent and decent, as if she had never been a rival that she needed to be concerned about from beginning to end. Especially that day when Qin Luo had said that she would not look back after she had let go, she had even cheered for winning this victory.
Frustration and unwillingness were rolling, and she was shouting in a low voice.
You Ning lowered her head and picked up her water glass to hide her embarrassment.
Shen Yiyi did not want to affect You Ning, so she did not say a word about her relationship with Qin Luo. She could even keep a distance from Qin Luo, and did not even make eye contact with Qin Luo.
She said quietly, “I came to find you to ask about Shang Yi and Qi Yingjun.”
Shen Yiyi, instead of letting her be her defeated opponent, hoped that she could be an open and honest opponent. This way, both of them would have their dignity, and in the end, they could part on good terms.
She said directly, “I’ve seen your friend’s testimony at the police station.”
You Ning took a sip of water and did not speak.
Shen Yiyi gave her a chance. “When you chose to help Lu Xi get a spot at the party, was it for Qin Luo?”
