Chapter 28: Tantrum
=======================
The girl’s young body was before her. Bei Queting’s mind went blank, unable to think of anything. She stood there stiffly, like a wooden post.
“Beibei?” He Jingsu called out, a little strangely.
Bei Queting instantly came back to her senses. She handed her the shower gel, then turned and left without a word. Her face was a mix of red and white, as if a dye palette had been overturned.
Daidai, how can Daidai be so unguarded.
Bei Queting bit her lip. This was in front of her. What if it were in front of someone else?
She began to feel annoyed at her own thought.
A long time later, when He Jingsu came out of the shower, she saw Bei Queting sitting with her back to her. From her back, it was clear that she was unhappy. She was a little strange and went up to ask, “Beibei, what’s wrong?”
Bei Queting looked up at her oblivious expression, a slight pang in her heart. Did this person not realize the inappropriateness of her actions at all?
“Daidai,” she called out.
“Huh?” He Jingsu’s face was full of confusion.
Bei Queting pressed her lips together. In the end, she still said, “In the future, when you’re showering, don’t just open the door and let others see your body.”
Hearing her words, He Jingsu was even more bewildered. “But is Beibei also ‘others’?”
Bei Queting was speechless. Looking at He Jingsu’s genuine expression, her heart warmed slightly.
She closed her eyes and, after composing herself, said, “Daidai, no matter who it is, you can’t do this. Unless it’s the person you like in the future.”
She couldn’t use He Jingsu’s innocence to her own advantage. That would be too dirty.
“But you are the person I like,” He Jingsu was even more confused. She had liked Bei Queting very much from the first moment she saw her.
Bei Queting closed her eyes. She understood that the “like” He Jingsu was talking about was not the same as the “like” she was talking about. But her heart still trembled at her words.
“It’s not the same. Just remember not to let others see your body casually in the future,” Bei Queting tried to make her voice sound as gentle as possible.
He Jingsu’s eyebrows drooped, as if she were very wronged. She hadn’t let just anyone see her. It was only Beibei.
Seeing He Jingsu like this, Bei Queting hardened her heart and didn’t comfort her. She stood up and walked toward the bathroom. At the very least, she had to make He Jingsu understand that even with her, there had to be boundaries.
Seeing that Beibei was ignoring her, He Jingsu’s spirits seemed to be drained in an instant. She climbed onto the bed, transformed back into her true form, and curled into a ball, starting to sulk. What’s wrong with Beibei? Why did she suddenly change so much?
When Bei Queting came out, she saw the little rice ball curled up on the bed. Her expression instantly softened. But after so many years together, she could easily tell that He Jingsu was unhappy.
She lowered her gaze and thought for a moment, knowing why. It was probably because her words had been too serious.
She sighed inwardly. But if she wasn’t serious, how could she make her understand that even between them, there needed to be boundaries?
Without boundaries, she would never understand that there could be another possibility between them.
She got into bed, wanting to hold her in her arms to sleep as usual. But this little cub was unwilling. She wriggled out of her arms, her fur standing on end, and crawled to the side, not letting Bei Queting hold her.
Every time they slept, she would always proactively crawl into Bei Queting’s arms.
Seeing her action, Bei Queting was stunned at first, then she found it rather amusing.
“Daidai, what’s wrong?” Bei Queting asked softly. Was this one so angry that she wouldn’t even let her hold her?
He Jingsu huffed softly, turned her back to her, and didn’t answer.
Seeing her lying on her side, not facing her, not only did it not have any intimidating effect, but because of her inherent cuteness, it made the sulking little rice ball even cuter.
Her two small black ears twitched, as if she were listening to every sound. Her small wings were folded, and her barely visible little tail swept back and forth restlessly. She looked pitifully cute.
Bei Queting softened her voice and coaxed, “Daidai, the reason I said that before was because I hope you can be a little more guarded and not let others see you.”
If that happened, she would be very, very angry, so angry that a violent factor would rise in her heart.
“I won’t let others see me!” Whoever dared to look, she would beat them up!
Bei Queting’s expression grew even softer. She moved closer, lay on her side, and held the panda cub in her arms. She lowered her head and buried it in her fluffy head, whispering, “That’s for the best.”
She had moved closer again and was speaking to her in such a gentle voice. He Jingsu moved a little, but in the end, she didn’t struggle out of her embrace.
Just, just for one night. I won’t sleep with her tomorrow!
He Jingsu told herself this. In the end, the tuft of fur on her head twitched a couple of times, and she contentedly buried herself in Bei Queting’s arms and fell asleep.
Holding the panda cub in her arms, Bei Queting felt both satisfied and bitter. Satisfied that she was the only one she treated so specially, but bitter that she still didn’t understand what love was.
The next morning, He Jingsu seemed to have completely forgotten what had happened last night. She was clingy and lazy in Bei Queting’s arms, unwilling to get up.
“Then let’s sleep a little longer?” Seeing her so uncomfortable, Bei Queting didn’t force her to get up. After all, it was Saturday and there were no classes. It was fine to sleep in a little.
“Mmm.” She buried her head in the crook of her neck and contentedly fell asleep.
Bei Queting was speechless. Not a moment of hesitation.
Looking at her sleeping posture, Bei Queting helplessly lay with her. But after waking up, she couldn’t fall back asleep. She stared at the ceiling with her eyes open, her mind wandering. After an unknown amount of time, the panda cub in her arms finally slept comfortably. She stretched out her four paws, and even her small wings spread out.
“Morning, Beibei,” He Jingsu said, her voice muffled.
Bei Queting glanced at the time. It was almost eleven o’clock.
“…Morning.”
She sat up and placed the cub on her lap, starting to help her stretch. Looking at the cub, who let her do as she pleased, Bei Queting’s lips curved into a smile. She helped her stretch until she was comfortable, then the cub yawned and lay on her lap, unwilling to move.
Bei Queting was used to this. She held her and went into the bathroom to wash up together. Then they went downstairs. He Ying was watching a new TV series produced by her company with Jing Dan.
“Finally up?” He Ying chuckled softly, but she understood the sleepiness of teenagers, especially that little cub.
Jing Dan held He Ying in her arms, as if to say, Don’t even think about snatching her away. “If you’re hungry, make your own breakfast.”
He Ying was going to watch TV with her!
Hearing her mommy say this, He Jingsu’s eyes widened slightly in Bei Queting’s arms.
“Mhm, okay,” Bei Queting replied simply. She then placed He Jingsu on the sofa and said softly, “You watch TV with Aunt Jing and the others first. I’ll go prepare breakfast.”
With the experience of cooking last time, and having watched many cooking videos, a simple breakfast shouldn’t be too difficult.
Hearing Bei Queting’s words, He Ying raised an eyebrow. She held the cub on the sofa. She hadn’t expected her to be so persistent.
Bei Queting went to the kitchen and recalled how Aunt He used to make breakfast, then started to prepare the ingredients.
He Jingsu had originally wanted to go in and see, but she was pulled over by Jing Dan. While ruffling her head, she said, “This TV series is not bad.”
As expected of a drama produced by her own company.
He Ying couldn’t help but laugh, looking at the cub being kneaded like a ball of dough in Jing Dan’s arms with pity.
He Jingsu’s face was full of confusion. She felt that her hairstyle was probably ruined.
About half an hour later, Bei Queting came out with a large bowl of noodles, her face slightly red.
Seeing her come out, He Ying and the others also came over to look curiously. Looking at the large bowl of noodles, He Ying had to hold back a laugh.
“I accidentally made too much,” Bei Queting was also a little embarrassed. She couldn’t control the amount. She had put in a handful, and seeing that it didn’t look like much, she had added two more. Who knew it would turn out to be so much!
He Jingsu’s eyes lit up. This was breakfast made by Beibei!
She quickly transformed into her human form and ran into the kitchen to get bowls and chopsticks. Then she carefully served a bowl, took a bite, and nodded repeatedly. “Beibei’s cooking is so delicious!”
Seeing He Jingsu’s supportive look, Bei Queting’s embarrassment also eased a little.
“Is it really that good?” Jing Dan muttered to herself. In the end, seeing He Jingsu eat so happily, she also got a bowl and served a small portion to try.
No taste. Did she forget to add salt?
He Ying saw her dazed expression and let out a muffled laugh. She took the bowl and chopsticks from her hand and, to give her an out, said, “Aren’t you going to watch your TV series?”
Jing Dan had a sudden realization and quickly nodded, saying she was going to watch, then ran back to the living room.
He Ying finished the small bowl that Jing Dan had served, then looked at the little cub who was eating happily. She couldn’t help but sigh inwardly. Was this the power of a filter? It even affected her sense of taste.
Bei Queting could also tell from Jing Dan’s reaction that the noodles were not good. Her face started to turn red again.
In the end, He Jingsu actually ate more than half of the bowl of noodles, and then she was full. She half-closed her eyes and transformed back into her true form, asking Bei Queting to rub her belly to help her digest.
Looking at the panda cub sprawled on her lap, Bei Queting’s heart was hot and burning. She felt that all the hardships she had suffered in the past might have been to accumulate luck to meet her.
He Jingsu whimpered under Bei Queting’s hands. After being massaged comfortably, she yawned. Having eaten and drunk her fill, she was sleepy again.
“Didn’t you say you were going to Grandaunt’s?” Bei Queting said softly.
“!”
He Jingsu immediately perked up. She quickly sat up and stopped her from rubbing, looking up with her panda head. “Mhm, mhm, we’re still going to see Grandaunt!”
With that, she said goodbye to He Ying and the others, and the next second, they disappeared from the spot.
He Ying, Jing Dan: “…” They couldn’t help but wonder, did they still need such a heartless little cub?
Maybe they should give her away?
And He Jingsu and the others arrived at Bei Yuan’s coffee shop. It seemed they had come at a very bad time. When they appeared in Bei Yuan’s break room, Huai Sheng was holding Bei Yuan and kissing her…
Huai Sheng was speechless.
Bei Yuan immediately pushed Huai Sheng away, her face flushed red with embarrassment.
He Jingsu looked at them kissing, a thoughtful look in her eyes.
