Chapter 16

The moment the words left Bai Lu’s mouth, her face flushed a brilliant crimson.

Lu Zhi hadn’t expected her to still be holding onto that idea. Her gaze landed squarely on the young girl’s bashful face, and she curled her lip into a smile. “Bai Lu, you’ve got guts.”

Bai Lu panicked so badly her hands started to shake. She hurriedly hid them behind her back, forcing herself to stay calm, but her throat tightened. “W-We’re both women. Wh-what’s wrong with a little touch? You’re always handsy with me, aren’t you…”

Lu Zhi crossed her arms and watched her, only speaking once the young girl looked ready to flee. “Fine. After the shower, you can touch.”

Bai Lu bit her lip upon hearing this. There was none of the excitement she’d imagined, only a heart full of panic. Mechanically, she carried the bowl to the sink and turned on the tap. The slightly cool water rushing over her fingers did nothing to lower the heat.

Gradually, she began to regret it, cursing herself internally for running her mouth. What now? Was she really supposed to touch her later? So awkward…

Good lord!

Why had she thought of flirting with that woman?

There wouldn’t be any thrill at all!!!

She didn’t even need to turn around. She could feel Lu Zhi watching her from behind. Bai Lu felt like she had needles pricking her back, her whole body heating up.

“You’re going to polish that pot down to the metal,” Lu Zhi said, taking a sip of water and setting the glass cup down lightly on the marble countertop.

“Ah!” Bai Lu quickly put the pot in her hands down.

“Still touching? If not, this condition is considered void,” Lu Zhi drawled slowly.

“…”

She was not going to chicken out!

Bai Lu turned around, her eyes fixed on Lu Zhi with the resolve of a martyr. “Touch!”

Lu Zhi let out a small laugh. The sound caused a slight vibration in the air. She looked at Bai Lu, her eyes swirling with an alluring, flowing light.

“Where do you want to touch?”

Her voice was very soft, but it seemed to conceal a hook.

Just three simple words, and Bai Lu’s forced composure instantly crumbled. For the first time, she felt how erotic the word “touch” could be. Just passing through her eardrums, it made her blush, her heart race, and her mind wander.

“J-Just… ahem, right here.” Bai Lu coughed hastily to cover the hoarseness in her voice.

Lu Zhi nodded. She slid down from the high stool, turned around to lean her back against the bar counter, tilted her head slightly, and said with complete nonchalance, “Come here.”

Bai Lu practically walked over with her arms and legs moving in sync on the same side.

Lu Zhi leaned lightly, her arms resting casually on the counter, presenting an image of letting Bai Lu do as she pleased. Her thick hair was all tied behind her head, revealing a neck as smooth and elegant as a swan’s. She was still wearing her tight yoga outfit, which perfectly displayed the woman’s curvaceous and exquisite figure.

Bai Lu took a deep breath. They stood face-to-face, a little too close. That cool fragrance wafted out again, drilling into Bai Lu’s nose without restraint.

She was a bit shorter than Lu Zhi. Not daring to meet Lu Zhi’s eyes, her gaze roamed aimlessly below the neck, before quite abruptly landing on the other woman’s full chest. Even though she had the same thing herself, her eyes jumped away as if scalded, flustered with nowhere to land.

Lu Zhi’s eyelids drooped slightly as she observed the young girl before her, whose ears were red. Her eyelashes trembled like two startled butterflies, and her lips, like rose petals, were bitten into a gorgeous, blood-like scarlet. Stunningly beautiful.

“Touch.” Lu Zhi’s voice was almost a whisper, laced with an imperceptible bewitchment.

Bai Lu stretched out her hand. Her fair fingertips were still trembling as they landed gently on Lu Zhi’s waist.

As soon as she made contact, she felt the soft muscles beneath her hand gently tense. Several fluid lines faintly emerged, forming clearly defined vertical ab lines (like the character 川).

Bai Lu’s heart fluttered. Her palm uncontrollably wandered over the firm, smooth skin. The touch was silky, carrying a hint of coolness.

Lu Zhi leaned in slightly. The temperature in the air gradually ignited and burned.

“So hot.”

Lu Zhi moved closer to Bai Lu’s ear, her voice a murmur. The slight breath from her words fell onto the young girl’s ear.

Bai Lu’s eyes were practically glazed over with moisture from her teasing.

After a long moment, she abruptly snatched her hand back, took half a step back, and looked at Lu Zhi, panting lightly.

Lu Zhi smiled, her gaze landing directly on Bai Lu’s face.

She spoke slowly. “How was the feel?”

Bai Lu’s face burned. Her voice was somewhat hoarse. “P-Pretty good…”

The smile in Lu Zhi’s eyes widened as she looked at the young girl who seemed to have lost her soul.

On the surface, she was all claws and teeth, but inside, she was so innocent and alluring.

Bai Lu, stared at by those eyes, felt completely dizzy.

“I-I’m tired. I’m going back to my room.” Throwing these words down, Bai Lu practically fled in a panic.

Lu Zhi withdrew her gaze from the figure that had hastily disappeared behind the door. She turned around, picked up the glass cup from the counter, and took a light sip. The slightly cool liquid seemed to soothe some of the throbbing in her heart.

The candlelight beside her flickered, and she noticed Bai Lu had left the aromatherapy candle there.

Lu Zhi turned the candle, but instead of sending it over, she took it back to her own room.

Closing the door, she sighed softly.

Appetite and sex are part of human nature. The sages truly did not deceive me.

Bai Lu threw herself onto the bed, burying her face in the pillow. Only when she was almost suffocating did she lift her head and gasp for air.

She flipped over, lying spread-eagled on the bed, staring blankly at the white ceiling above.

So embarrassing…

Are you crazy…

Why did you have to ask for trouble…

And you actually touched her…

Bai Lu raised her hand and looked at it. A trace of that softness seemed to linger on her palm, its lines so clear.

So hot.

Those two words seemed to still be rolling off the tip of that person’s tongue. Her lips slightly parted, carrying a shiver-inducing, lingering, and tender flavor.

Hot?

Bai Lu pressed her palm against her cheek. For a moment, she couldn’t tell which was hotter, her palm or her face.

Bai Lu twisted herself into a pretzel on the bed. A jumbled mess of thoughts raced through her mind like a merry-go-round, making her feel completely dazed.

As her consciousness slowly blurred, Bai Lu had a hazy and confusing spring dream.

She felt like a little paper boat, lying in a vast, warm, soft ocean. Waves surged over her layer by layer, causing her entire being to melt away.

She sank into the water. Amidst the shimmering ripples, she saw a person with a blurry face. That person carried the clear blue of the water, like a swimming fish, slowly drawing closer. She had no power to resist, even uncontrollably and faintly yielding, submitting.

The slightly cool body temperature clearly transmitted to her skin. She struggled to open her eyes wide, but could only see the other person’s slender, elegant neck. Their skin was fair and smooth, with the faint veins of blood flowing beneath it…

Her name is Lu Zhi, a traveler lost in time and space after failing a quick-transmigration mission. Long ago, she had a partner that existed in her sea of consciousness. Its name is now a blur, probably a string of code, but it was eventually stripped away.

After that, she had no guide, no missions. She merely traversed different time-spaces, taking over the body of a mere passerby, and lived out that life according to its original design.

Yet, amidst all kinds of plotlines, she always ran into a certain brainless young lady. This girl would diligently play the role of the villainess side character, a little monster whose life's ambition was to contribute bricks and mortar to the main characters' romance and careers, wholeheartedly sacrificing herself.

Lu Zhi didn't care about the male and female leads, but this stumbling block of a girl always stirred a sense of pity in her, compelling her to offer some guidance.

It was only later that she realized each of these brainless girls possessed the same pure innocence and earnest sincerity. It was so familiar that she wondered if she had encountered the partner who had once accompanied her through eons, the one whose name was a string of code.
