As the touching reunion unfolded, Luo Yuxi sat awkwardly to the side, not wanting to interrupt. Yun Keke, no longer her usual arrogant self, was like a child, basking in Lislia’s long-overdue motherly love.

A voice startled Luo Yuxi. She turned and saw Doris, awake and impaled on the cross, her clothes torn, a gruesome wound on her chest.

“You’re awake. Didn’t expect our next meeting to be like this, did you…?”

“Cough, cough, as expected of my little cutie, pushing me to this extent, it really hurts~”

Doris, despite her injuries, still managed to tease Luo Yuxi. White, golden divine power flowed through her body, Luo Yuxi’s healing barely keeping her alive.

Doris coughed up blood. Luo Yuxi, using divine power, was slowly reconstructing the damaged blood vessels and organs in Doris’s chest. Although she could heal her quickly, she wasn’t going to.

Doris closed her eyes, conserving her energy. Meanwhile, Lislia, Yun Keke, and Yu Keke were chatting happily, like three sisters, if one didn’t know their true relationship.

Luo Yuxi felt a pang of melancholy. Their relationship had been purely transactional. They had only sought her out to enter the Church and find their mother. Now that their mother was here, their deal was no longer necessary.

Lislia smiled gently, then turned to Doris, her gaze shifting to Luo Yuxi, a questioning look in her eyes.
