It was an ugly sight. This was probably the most boring Colosseum duel the King of Winton had ever seen.
The defeat was too sudden, completely without warning.
Wind blades clashed, wooden stakes flew, and all that remained on the sand were two corpses, riddled with holes like pincushions.
“What…?”
Most of the audience just stared at each other, unsure of what had just happened.
The Colosseum was eerily silent. Even those who had won their bets didn’t dare to cheer.
The King of Winton’s face was livid.
“Bring me the Colosseum administrator.”
The administrator, Banette, was practically dragged and hauled before the King. A guard shoved him, and Banette tumbled onto the steps, losing two teeth and filling his mouth with blood.
“Are you the administrator of this Colosseum?”
“Yes, Your Majesty. I am.” Banette’s voice whistled through the gaps in his teeth as he clumsily wiped the blood with his sleeve.
“My dear husband, today is a day of celebration. It is not a day for anger,” the lavishly dressed Queen advised from the side.
“I will ask you a question, and you will answer me honestly. Did you hire these two girls to fix the bets?”
“Your Majesty, I’m innocent!! I had no idea these two girls…”
“Father, regardless of what happened, I won the bet,” Bonnie interrupted, cutting off the administrator’s excuses.
“Bonnie… I hope you didn’t conspire with this administrator,” the King said, shooting a venomous glare at Banette.
“Don’t forget, Father, you were the one who chose and made the bet. You can’t go back on your word just because you lost.”
She wasn’t joking. For a moment, the King of Winton was speechless.
“Sigh… Fine. Have it your way.”
The King had indeed been the one to choose the team. It had been on a whim. To say Bonnie had planned this would be baseless.
“Thank you for your blessing, Father.”
《Amplification》
The announcer cleared his throat, trying to compose himself after the shock.
“Alice, and Laura! Princess Bonnie wishes to hire you as her personal knights! What say you?”
Instantly, the stands erupted.
“Hey, did you hear that? The Princess’s personal knights!!”
“An invitation from… the Golden Light herself! Are those two girls really that strong?”
“Alice and Laura… hey man, you ever heard those names before?”
“How should I know? Even S-rank adventurers here might not get an invitation from Her Highness!!”
“Your Highness, I’m afraid I must refuse.”
The calmly spoken words from the loli’s mouth made the audience wonder if they were dreaming.
She actually refused the Princess’s invitation to be her personal knight!!
That was a position countless people dreamed of! It wasn’t just a prestigious title; it was a recognition of a knight’s strength by the Princess herself. To go from a slave to a noble… what kind of luck did you have to accumulate over generations to make that leap? And yet, she preferred to be a commoner! She must be out of her mind.
I was just here to look around; I had no intention of becoming a noble.
The Demon King becoming a human noble? What a joke. It would be a disaster if I were found out later, and it would do great damage to the princess’s reputation.
“Alice, in that case, let’s have a one-on-one duel. If I win, you will accept my offer. If I lose, I will become your slave and serve you.”
Bonnie had just said something outrageous. The Colosseum grew even more boisterous, the atmosphere intensifying several notches.
“My dear daughter, there’s no need to make such a wager!” the King of Winton cried out, his face pale with shock. He had no idea how strong these two girls were. Even though they had instantly killed the other team, they were still just children. They weren’t worthy of a challenge from Bonnie. Yet, his daughter had made up her mind, and it didn’t seem like she was joking.
“Child, what nonsense are you spouting?” Even her mother was extremely displeased.

Ignoring her parents’ concerns, Bonnie flew straight down to the sandy floor of the Colosseum.
