Being human meant that when you got drunk, a whole bunch of senses would shut down, leaving you oblivious to the world around you. That was perfectly normal.
But taste and smell? They were the total opposite.
They became ridiculously sensitive!
In a hazy daze, Ye Zhibai’s eyes flew wide open. Her pretty pupils contracted sharply, then trembled violently!
“Mmph… mmph?!”
She tried to make a sound, but with her mouth stuffed full, struggling was utterly futile.
Ye Zhibai had always enjoyed watching that food show called A Bite of Our Country.
As the name suggested, it was all about delicious eats.
From the show’s perspective, it boiled down to two key elements.
The “tongue tip”… and “gourmet delights.”
Right now, those two elements were converging in Ye Zhibai’s mouth at the same time!
She could feel a small, warm, jelly-like strip bouncing around inside, tumbling and churning like a storm at sea!
That was Guang Yu doing her best to shove every last bit of wasabi paste in there.
No holding back today! I’m giving you my entire stash! This hangover’s done for!
I’m going all in—it’s all for you, none for me.
So, Ye Zhibai, you have to pull through!
Truth be told, jelly wasn’t scary at all.
The problem was the texture of this “jelly”!
It was insanely spicy and bitter—indescribably awful!
Ye Zhibai felt a brutal jolt shoot straight to her brain.
It was like her skull was about to blow right off!
The rowdy haze of alcohol couldn’t stand up to the power of the wasabi paste.
Or rather, the moment they collided, the outcome was sealed.
Ye Zhibai’s eyes rolled back uncontrollably, and without even a chance to cry out, she keeled over unconscious right there on the spot!
Thud!!
The instant Ye Zhibai hit the floor, Guang Yu toppled alongside her, holding perfectly still relative to her position.
She kept her little lips pressed firmly against Ye Zhibai’s.
Deity adult—she wasn’t doing it for anything else.
She was just repaying the favor to the very end!
Damn, it’s burning up!
Woo woo, Ye Zhibai, you’re such a lightweight. Chug a bit more wasabi paste, and you’ll be right as rain!!
Only when she sensed that Ye Zhibai had gone completely limp did Guang Yu finally, with a satisfied sigh, pull her lips away.
The fox maiden loli stood up, wiped the drool and wasabi paste from her mouth, brushed nonexistent dust off her nightgown, and wagged her tail at lightning speed.
She looked down at Ye Zhibai, who was sprawled motionless on the ground.
A single tear glistened at the corner of Ye Zhibai’s eye.
That had to be endless respect and gratitude toward the deity.
Little Fox clasped her hands together and nodded slightly at Ye Zhibai in acknowledgment.
Warrior, I’ve neutralized the chili sauce’s heat for you.
Sleep well now.
No need to thank me. If you insist on showing some gratitude, just buy a couple extra drinks tomorrow. That’ll do it.
The deity loves all beings.
Guang Yu had been about to take another triumphant swig of wasabi paste to celebrate when footsteps echoed down the hallway again. With a quick flash of light, she shifted back into her kitty form.
Ye Zhiyun came rushing back with the sobering-up medicine in hand!
But the sight that greeted her was a sleeping beauty lying deathly still on the floor!
Ye Zhiyun’s face drained of color in sheer terror!
“Sis?! Sis, are you okay?! What’s wrong?!”
She hurried over, dropped to her knees, and immediately caught a whiff of that overpowering wasabi stench!
Then she spotted the wasabi paste bottle lying beside Ye Zhibai, not yet put away.
Staring at the wasabi still smeared on her sister’s lips, Ye Zhiyun lapsed into deep thought.
So… when people got drunk… they turned that feral?
But why the hell was there wasabi paste in the room?!
Why? It didn’t matter.
What mattered was that booze was clearly bad news!
And so was that pungent wasabi paste!
Ye Zhiyun couldn’t fathom how agonizing it must have been for her sister to down that stuff unconsciously.
All she felt now was outrage.
She hated the alcohol that got her sister drunk in the first place, and she hated that nose-assaulting wasabi just as much!
If she was pissed, she had to do something about it.
Ye Zhiyun snatched up the half-full wasabi paste bottle and hurled it with all her might toward the courtyard beyond the open floor-to-ceiling window!
Damn you, wasabi—don’t ever let me see you again!!
Flying out alongside the wasabi paste bottle…
Was kitty-form Guang Yu!
The poor little kitty trailed tears as she chased after her precious treasure, diving headfirst into the flowerbed!
Wahhh! Oh god! What the hell have you done?!
Ye Zhiyun, I was rooting for your guts yesterday! I even praised you!
I saved your sister, and this is how you treat me?!
Humanity really is twisted and untrustworthy!
Ye Zhiyun had no clue why Little Tea Cat had suddenly bolted after the bottle.
She’d just vented her pent-up frustration, that’s all!
Yun’er fetched a soft, clean towel from the closet. She propped up Ye Zhibai’s body and patiently wiped the wasabi paste from her lips.
Her heart ached with guilt.
Sorry, Sis. I went to grab the sobering-up medicine and left you alone. I feel awful.
Here’s the deal! Tomorrow, I’ll make it up to you properly.
Once you’re awake, spank my butt a hundred times—Yun’er accepts it willingly!
With that “self-punishing” resolve burning in her heart, tears welling in her eyes, Yun’er scooped up Ye Zhibai and laid her back on the bed.
With Sis asleep now, the sobering-up medicine was useless yet again.
No surprises this time.
When Ye Zhiyun changed Ye Zhibai into fresh sleepwear, she showed no signs of waking.
Wasabi paste was sometimes the best sleeping aid, granting Little Zhibai a perfect night’s rest.
Ye Zhiyun bumped the AC up a notch, sat on the edge of the bed, tucked her sister under the silken quilt, and gently brushed her silver bangs aside to the right side so she wouldn’t be uncomfortable in her sleep.
With everything taken care of, Ye Zhiyun shifted her sore butt slightly, her eyes brimming with tenderness as she lingered, reluctant to head back to her own room.
On the surface, it was to watch over Sis in case she woke up still drunk.
But deep down, Yun’er probably just wanted to gaze a little longer at her sleeping face.
She reached out to stroke Ye Zhibai’s cheek, her fingers lightly brushing those soft lips. Yun’er’s smile came straight from the heart—she couldn’t help it.
She was so blissfully happy that she started swaying side to side, mumbling to herself.
“Hee hee hee~~ Only I get to touch Sis’s lips, right? Ahh… this must be happiness. Life feels so wonderful all of a sudden! Isn’t it too indulgent? Guffaw…”
Guang Yu: Yeah, yeah, sure. Only you can touch them—who’s arguing? Couldn’t agree more. Spot on.
Ye Zhiyun was utterly focused on Ye Zhibai.
Of course she didn’t notice the little kitty toiling away in the courtyard.
Kitty-form Guang Yu had found the wasabi paste bottle amid the bushes—thank goodness the plants had cushioned its fall without breaking it.
With her paw pads, she nudged the bottle along until it rolled under the room’s ledge, then leaned against it for a breather.
Phew… close call, meow. Got the bottle salvaged.
Once that devil Ye Zhiyun leaves, I’ll retrieve it and treasure it properly.
As Ye Zhiyun stared at Ye Zhibai longer, her eyes grew hungrier by the second.
Just as her sneaky hand inched toward the neckline of Ye Zhibai’s sleepwear…
She shook her head sharply!
Whoa there, Ye Zhiyun—you perv!
You know damn well what state Sis is in. Can’t you hold it together?!
No choice—Yun’er tucked the quilt back over her properly.
To stop herself from changing her mind, she gritted her teeth, stood up, turned, and headed out of Ye Zhibai’s room to her own.
No disturbing Sis’s rest tonight.
So Yun’er would handle these naughty thoughts herself.
Self-relief was one of her must-master skills.
When she couldn’t sleep, her mind full of Sis, this was her ultimate weapon: using her own hands for some sleep-inducing release!
Mmm, back to my room~ Relieve, then sleep.
Tomorrow morning would be another glorious day seeing Sis full of energy!
Sis, good night—see you tomorrow!
Poor Little Zhibai… In her dreams, an Anse Waist Drum slathered in wasabi was charging straight at her!
Wahhh, what kind of hellish nightmare was this!
The night had deepened.
In one residential complex in Qihai Urban District, the myriad lights had mostly gone out, leaving only a few scattered glows here and there.
Those lingering lamps probably belonged to folks like you, burning the midnight oil to binge shows or read novels.
