Angel jumped up and kissed Lena hard on the lips.
The wet contact sent a jolt of electricity through Lena, and the feeling became addictive as Angel’s tongue invaded her mouth.

Lena thought Angel must have been out of her mind to kiss her so hard, her front teeth still ached, and her lip was slightly bleeding, nothing serious…
“Sorry, I accidentally bumped into you,” Angel said apologetically, loading the groceries into the magic carriage.

Lena rubbed her lips, not really angry.
She wouldn’t be so petty as to hold a grudge over a kiss.
“Let’s go, get in, let’s go home.”
“Our home,” Angel corrected, getting into the carriage and dabbing at Lena’s lip with a tissue, meticulous like a surgeon.
Lena smiled. “Very good, keep it up, you’re becoming more and more like a proper wife.”
“What wife? That sounds awful… ow, don’t laugh, idiot!”
Angel playfully slapped Lena’s chest, the sound muffled, then said softly, “I’ll heal you with Holy Light, don’t move.”
“No! Don’t!”
“What’s wrong?”
“Necromancers can’t be exposed to Holy Light, it shortens their lifespan,” Lena said, starting the carriage.
The engine hummed, the unique magic technology converting magic power into kinetic energy, its speed adjustable, fast as lightning.
The carriage was a testament to generations of craftsmanship.

“I went to Ka Ka’s place this afternoon.”
Lush greenery and colorful flowers.
Angel described the scenery she had seen and heard, sharing it with Lena.
“That deserted forest is perfect for Ka Ka, tailor-made for her.”
“I’m glad she likes it… actually, I was planning to go there myself, to see if there’s anything I’ve overlooked.”
Lena steered the carriage towards the Bitterwood Forest north of the city.
It was Falmouth territory, but its vast size, difficult management, and low profits had led to its abandonment.
Now, with Ka Ka’s help, this forest would surely regain its vitality.
Leaving the city, they drove for another ten minutes.
The bumpy road finally smoothed out.
A vast expanse of green came into view, the lush vegetation forming a natural barrier around the forest.
“I haven’t been back in years. I used to play hide-and-seek and pick mushrooms here when I was little, my family would have barbecues, so many memories…”

“You have to wait for me.” Angel placed her hand in Lena’s, jumping lightly.
Her face was buried in Lena’s embrace.

She wanted to sleep…
“I won’t let you sleep tonight,” Lena whispered in her ear. “We’ll have a lot of close contact, passionate lovemaking, reaching the peak of ecstasy together.”

Lena smiled. “You don’t trust my character?”
Angel shook her head.
She just wanted to protect this happiness, that was all.
Everyone was selfish, and Angel’s selfishness was obvious…
“Angel!”
Hearing their voices, the little deer girl rushed out of the cabin, her face lit up with excitement.
“Lena is here too, it’s so good to see you both!”
“Good afternoon, Ka Ka.” Lena, forgetting Angel’s warning, greeted Ka Ka cheerfully. “It’s a beautiful day, Angel insisted on bringing you some winter supplies, she’s worried you won’t be used to the empire’s climate.”
“Thank you.”
Ka Ka invited them inside.
