Chapter 156: Hungry
Molly wanted to take a bath.
Although she hated daytime, it was safer than encountering another human vying for the lake at night.
Lena had scared her.
The memory still lingered, making her avoid the lake at night.
“Whoa, who threw… gold coins?!”
Molly, startled by the sudden splashes, looked towards the shore, her crimson eyes narrowed.
Two figures stood there, their features unclear. She had to get closer.
“Whoever you are, you’ll pay for this!”
She muttered, swimming towards the shore.
Meanwhile, Lena flicked a gold coin, its shimmering surface reflecting the sunlight like a sniper’s scope, the coin spinning in the air, then, a surge of power…
“I’ll devour you, lowly human!”
Molly leaped from the water, baring her fangs, lunging at the familiar gray figure.
Huh?
She froze.
The gold coin, about to land on Lena’s fingertip, suddenly erupted in a blinding white light, black mist swirling around it, the two forces intertwining, illuminating Lena’s face.
Damn it…
“You again!!!”
Molly’s small body, and her furious expression, were swallowed by the light.
Just as she thought she was done for…
“Molly.”
A cheerful voice jolted her awake.
The little deer girl, Ka Ka, held her like a doll. “It’s really you, did you eat the cookies I gave you?”
“I… I’m okay?”
Molly checked herself, unharmed, her eyes wide with confusion.
She remembered seeing Lena, then being engulfed by a terrifying beam of light, then… ah!
Where was Lena?!
“Over here.”
Lena took Molly from Ka Ka’s arms, holding her close.
Lena’s ample bosom pressed against Molly’s back, Molly’s thin, wet silk nightgown clinging to her skin, her golden hair plastered to her back, her appearance as delicate as a lotus flower.
“You seem surprised to see me.”
Lena wiggled her finger.
Molly’s mind flashed back to unpleasant memories. “Put me down, who… who gave you permission to be so presumptuous, insignificant human!”
She kicked her legs, but couldn’t reach Lena.
“Be quiet, or your belly will swell up again.”
“Ugh!”
Molly glared at Lena, her eyes filled with rage. If looks could kill, Lena would be dead a thousand times over.
Her feet touched the ground.
Molly, enduring Lena’s embrace, landed on the shore, her face flushed. “What are you doing here? Ruining my bath again.”
“A coincidence. I wasn’t here to bully you.”
Lena was well aware of Molly’s [Revenge] ability, so she didn’t push her too far.
If she angered Molly, there would be consequences.
“How does it feel?”
“Terrible, human, your personality will make finding a mate incredibly difficult.”
“I’m asking about your advancement, you’re rank four now, right?”
“Indeed…”
Molly ignited her Blood Magic, golden flames drying her clothes, a protective barrier forming around her. She tossed her hair, her golden locks flowing like a silken veil, her demeanor confident and beautiful.
Her gaze swept over Ka Ka, then settled on Lena, that annoying smile no longer so annoying. “What does Angel even see in you?”
“Probably my face…”
Lena winked. “Most people are secretly members of the ‘Appearance Association,’ even if they don’t admit it, first impressions matter, just like now.”
“You mean, you’re actually quite exceptional?”
Molly scoffed, unconvinced.
“Ask Ka Ka,” Lena picked up Molly’s clothes and helped her dress. “Sometimes, seeing isn’t believing, I’ve always treated you as the future Bloodkin Queen…”
A blatant lie.
Molly finished dressing, her expression unreadable.
“Um… thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
Lena’s quick reply, as if she had anticipated Molly’s gratitude, made her smile.
Bullying girls was a simple pleasure, making Lena forget her troubles.
Molly, a potential asset, was added to Lena’s watchlist…
“Everyone is getting along so well, how wonderful,” Ka Ka said, her usual lack of tact.
“Who’s getting along?!” Molly stamped her foot, the movement causing her breasts to jiggle noticeably beneath her thin dress.
It seemed she wasn’t wearing a bra; Lena had thoroughly explored her body earlier.
“All of you keep bothering me, I can’t even enjoy a bath in peace, I’m leaving!”
“Oh, by the way, are you coming to Angel’s concert?”
Molly stopped, turning around, and scoffed. “I hate humans, I hate crowded places, and I hate how humans pollute the night, which rightfully belongs to the bloodkin.”
The concert was at night, but Molly didn’t want to go to the Imperial City.
She hadn’t even secured her next meal, and with the forest destroyed, the small animals scattered, finding food was even more difficult.
“But shouldn’t bloodkin love the scent of humans?”
“A human with a filthy heart, even if their appearance is beautiful, their blood is still dirty. I’d rather starve than drink their blood,” Molly said disdainfully.
She was a bloodkin with high standards, enjoying a refined lifestyle, she wouldn’t lower herself for a mere meal.
She only drank the fresh blood of eighteen-year-old girls, preferably from their necks.
The girl’s appearance, figure, and personality all had to be top-notch, otherwise, the blood would taste terrible.
Molly could taste the difference, Angel’s blood, for example, was undeniably sweet.
And Lena’s…
Although her personality was a bit eccentric, her beauty was undeniable, so her blood probably wouldn’t taste bad either.
Oh no, she was drooling…
“How about drinking my blood?”
Lena offered her wrist, smiling.
“You seem hungry, your eyes are glowing green.”
“No… I… I just forgot to have afternoon tea…” Molly averted her gaze, resisting the temptation.
“If you agree to come to the concert, I’ll be your personal blood bag.”
“Huh?”
“Not interested? You can try it first, I never lie.”
Lena’s smile was enigmatic.
Molly suspected a trap, but Lena’s scent was so alluring, and she was indeed hungry.
