Chapter 160: Emergency I
“Lena!”
“Cough, cough, cough…”
“Don’t try to hide your embarrassment with coughing, the rumors about Professor Agnes’s girlfriend, it’s you, isn’t it?!” Angel poked Lena’s lips with her finger. “Idiot! Pervert! Two-timer!!”
It was true.
Lena was impressed by Angel’s sharp intuition.
“How could you accept Professor Agnes’s confession? She just got out of a relationship!”
“Huh…”
It seemed the news hadn’t spread completely; this little girl thought she was taking advantage of Agnes.
Lena patiently explained, clearing her name. “Actually, Agnes was the one who confessed, I agreed to help her get over her heartbreak.”
After all, the fastest way to get over a relationship was to start a new one.
Such a simple principle, surely Angel understood.
Well said. Lena almost convinced herself…
“Lies!”
Angel saw through Lena’s deception, standing up and placing her stocking-clad foot on Lena’s mouth. “What should you say?”
“Thank God for this delicious meal?” Lena kissed Angel’s toes, savoring the sweet, slightly damp scent.
“Apologize! You have to apologize and admit that two-timing is wrong!”
Angel was furious.
She had only been gone for a few days, and Lena had already hooked up with the academy’s beauty professor. If she left for any longer, they would probably have children.
“You’re not getting into bed until you apologize!”
“I’m sorry, please forgive me.”
Lena knew she was in the wrong, so she didn’t argue.
Angel’s anger subsided slightly, and she sat down on Lena’s lap, sulking…
“How many girls do you want as wives?”
“Can I not answer that question?”
“Fine, then I’ll ask another one, when are you going to stop your ‘beautiful girl hunting’ plan?” Angel asked sullenly.
“Hmm…”
Lena pondered, her hand stroking Angel’s smooth leg, her toes curling.
“Are you done thinking yet?”
Angel’s voice had a strange tone, which she didn’t seem to notice.
“Almost, I’m still thinking…”
Lena removed Angel’s dance shoes, her white stocking-clad feet soft and alluring, the thin fabric like a transparent veil, their smooth texture incredibly tempting.
“Everyone has their pursuits and ideals. If the goal is the horizon, then all you leave behind is your silhouette.”
“So your ideal is to collect every beautiful girl you see?”
“You’re not wrong.”
“Scumbag!”
Angel swatted Lena’s hand away, disgusted.
Lena’s words were too crude.
Couldn’t she say something nicer?!
“Living with a dream, not wasting your youth, everyone needs a purpose in life…” Lena said, spouting profound nonsense.
But Angel, knowing it was just an excuse, didn’t care how reasonable it sounded.
She had promised Juliana to keep Lena in check, so she had to fulfill her duty as a wife.
“Listen, Lena, I forced myself to accept Mines, and we can’t avoid the engagement with Diana, that’s inevitable, but as for Agnes, I hope this is the last time, I don’t want to see you continue like this…”
“Continue what?” Lena asked.
“Playing around…” Angel blushed, confessing her feelings. “I don’t want you to flirt with other girls, it makes me feel guilty towards your mother, she entrusted you to me, and I failed her.”
Juliana had talked to Angel about Lena, bridging the age gap between them, sharing everything about Lena. They had quickly become close confidantes.
“You feel burdened, like you can’t handle it?”
Lena rubbed Angel’s palm, her legs wrapped around Angel’s waist, her breath warm against her ear. “Don’t worry, my mother was just joking, she doesn’t have any expectations of me, and she can’t control me.”
“But I promised her.”
Angel bit her lip, burying her face in Lena’s chest.
This position, this expression…
Lena found it incredibly endearing.
“So what if you promised? She won’t know if you’re actually doing your job or not. To be blunt, you can’t take away my right to pursue beauty, just like you pursuing your idol career despite your sister’s objections.”
“That’s sophistry…”
Angel’s eyes were red-rimmed, like a little rabbit.
Lena gently stroked her face. “It’s not sophistry, you still pursued your dream despite the pressure, and you succeeded, same goes for me…”
Angel fell silent, nestled in Lena’s arms, her eyes downcast, seemingly convinced.
Lena smiled smugly.
Trying to argue with her, Angel’s level was too low!
Ridiculous!
Ha!
“Lena, do you like me?” Angel suddenly asked, turning her head.
“?”
Lena was dumbfounded, her mind reeling.
Like a supercomputer, she quickly listed countless possibilities, trying to decipher Angel’s intentions.
She had considered almost every scenario.
“Do you think I like you?”
A perfect counterattack! Lena was impressed with herself.
Angel would definitely hesitate, giving Lena time to figure out what she was up to!
Lena was smug, confident in her victory.
“I think you do,” Angel replied without hesitation.
“I-is that so?”
Lena’s composure faltered, a subtle shift in her demeanor.
Think of something, her brilliant, invincible brain!!
“I think I’ve fallen for you, Lena, I’m not joking.”
Angel didn’t give Lena any time to react, her gaze meeting Lena’s, confessing her hidden feelings.
And Lena’s mind went blank, like a computer infected with a virus, then formatted, even restarting couldn’t restore her composure.
Angel’s simple words had fried her brain.
Lena had considered every possibility, except for Angel’s confession, a sudden, unexpected confession.
