The Apocalypse Ends in a Junkyard

Five hundred years after a global flu caused modern civilization to collapse backwards, the world returned to the law of the jungle.

Su Wuxue—formerly one of the deadliest top-tier bounty hunters in the kingdom—is down on her luck, blacklisted by the guilds, and completely broke. Left with no choice, she takes a dirt-cheap retrieval job in the desolate Red Iron Wasteland.

There, she runs into Luo Shisan.

A dirt-smudged scavenger pulling a squeaky handcart, singing silly folk songs, and terrified of anything that breathes.

After a chaotic encounter, Shisan plants both hands on her hips and demands her dues:
“Two hundred thousand Orbs! Not a single coin less! If you don’t pay me, I’m following you to the ends of the earth!”

Su Wuxue: “…”

To settle a ridiculous debt, a cold, sharp-tongued lone-wolf hunter is forced to drag a cowardly, money-grubbing tagalong into the cutthroat underworld.

She thought she had merely picked up a shameless burden with an extra mouth to feed.
She never expected this little scavenger would stubbornly throw herself in harm’s way just to protect her, while shamelessly asking for hugs every single day.

“Wuxue, do you like me?”
“Shut up and walk.”
“Oh. Then can I hold your hand?”
