The Saintess of the Sea Concubine Palace, during the awakening ceremony, openly summoned a companion spirit beast of extremely low grade – a Water Element.
Pure Passerby A: It must be a smokescreen released by the Sea Concubine Palace. How could the Saintess’s companion spirit beast be a mere Water Element? I won’t believe it until I see it with my own eyes!
Pure Passerby B: Hehe, I believe it. How about you all? (A burst of laughter)
Pure Passerby C: I’m guessing some great master has already taken her in as a disciple and is deliberately concealing her extraordinary talent to prevent others from poaching her.
Pure Passerby D: It must be the Variant Water Emperor in disguise. The Saintess is always modest and low-key, not wanting to attract envious attention.
Saintess: Completely fabricated. Amplify the speculation.
Give this work a chance, the first 15 chapters seem quite promising and interesting
Totally recommending it!!
Yuribabies. Just, yuribabies.
What is “yuribabies”?
Disclaimer: This comment is more of a subjective heads up. I’ve only read up until chapter 310 so take my opinions with a grain of salt. At the end of the day, I still urge you to give this novel a read before you decide what to do with it.
-_-_-_-
The earlier parts of the novel follows the given premise. Girl bluffs her way through a series of events through cunning means, aura (no, literally), misunderstandings and a crap ton of luck, like the whole world just bend to her needs through a series of unexplained coincidences. This part, while exasperating and even somewhat obnoxious at times, is still pretty funny and interesting that it even manages to make me giggle out loud.
The interactions that stem from the mc’s opponents largely overestimating her and the mc just rolling with it is a fun dynamic I didn’t know I would enjoy.
As the story goes on, however, she starts gaining her own strength and actually starts living up to her reputation. From here on, the story falls into a cycle of: Get into a fight, grow stronger during fight, defeat enemy, go to another region and meet stronger opponents. It’s basically the Pokemon franchise if it was based on Mythological Ancient China.
This is a fun read for the first hundred chapters or so but I find that it gets increasingly monotone as it goes on. Little to no yuri btw. What little yuri crumbs you get are somehow limited to people thirsting over mc or her anthropomorphic vaguely female-shaped pokemons (spirit beasts), so don’t expect much. Like, seriously, there’s more yuri in a background character’s history than the whole mc’s journey. And that character’s lover died a couple thousand years ago. All of that is stuffed in less than a dozen paragraphs btw. So, if you’re drawn in by the promise of yuri (Like I was) then move on buddy. This place ain’t for you.

Well that just not true lol
A rather fun story, and a pretty satisfying ending. For those here for the yuri, it does take a while but it does happen, especially after chapter 421.
