Chapter 51 Part 2

“Got it, President Shi.”

Did she not understand her boss’s little schemes?

With that, she handed Shi Youwan’s personal bag to her, hopped in gracefully, waved, and the car sped off—meaning they were leaving President Shi to her own devices.

Chi Yumo: “…”

In the rush, Chi Yumo had no choice but to take charge of this elegant beauty of a president. Before puddles formed, she pulled her close and hurried toward the hotel.

The rain pattered loudly. Despite the large umbrella, Chi Yumo’s right shoulder still got wet.

She completely shielded Shi Youwan from the wind and rain with the umbrella.

Chi Yumo did not close the umbrella immediately upon entering the hotel lobby. She only did so just before reaching the elevator. Her room was not on a high floor—in fact, none of the rooms in this hotel were on the upper levels. They were all concentrated between the 8th and 12th floors, and hers was on the 11th.

Two other young people, a man and a woman, entered the elevator with them.

The woman had been clinging to the man’s waist since they had been waiting for the elevator, whispering coquettishly about whether it would rain tomorrow. If it did, they would have to cancel their plans to go out, and she chattered on about how they might spend a boring day in the hotel.

In truth, her posture with Shi Youwan was not much different from theirs. To outsiders, they looked like another pair shamelessly flaunting their affection.

Her intention had been to “hide” Shi Youwan a bit better, but Shi Youwan’s mind was filled with… nothing but sweetness.

The young couple got off on the 9th floor. At Room 1106, Chi Yumo swiped the card and led Shi Youwan inside.

She placed the umbrella by the door and removed her mask. Just as she was about to insert the room card to turn on the power, Shi Youwan’s hands climbed onto her shoulders, pushing her entire body against the wall. Then, a pair of cool, soft lips covered hers.

Without any warning, Shi Youwan pried open her teeth unceremoniously, launching a full assault—plundering, teasing boldly, seizing forcefully, and tangling relentlessly!

Even worse, amid their intertwined lips and tongues, Shi Youwan’s right hand snuck to the back of her neck, her fingertip teasing her gland now and then.

The Omega’s pheromones spilled out rapidly. In just two or three minutes, the entire big-bed room was filled with the faint, serene scent of lotus from all directions. The Alpha’s mouth, nose, and glands were all invaded by the lotus fragrance.

Yet the Alpha’s wandering thoughts were real, and so was her annoyed fury. She couldn’t bite the soft flesh in her mouth, so she pinched the soft meat at her waist instead, right?

The Omega’s waist flesh on both sides was pressed by the Alpha’s thumbs, fueled by unnamed fire. The pressure started light and gradually increased until the Omega, caught between pain and pleasure, grunted softly and withdrew her right hand from the back of the Alpha’s neck. The two hands on her waist also eased up.

But the Alpha was not satisfied. She turned the tables, sucking on the Omega’s lips, vengefully releasing a thick wave of pheromones. This left the discourteous Omega before her completely limp and powerless, whimpering as she collapsed into her arms.

The glistening strand of silver at their lips was proof of their fervent kiss, as well as the threads of affection they hadn’t swallowed in time.

Shi Youwan rested her forehead on Chi Yumo’s shoulder, her heart pounding wildly as if it might leap out of her throat.

During those days in Lan Wei, she had cast aside all shame and used every trick in bed, yet she hadn’t been able to make Chi Yumo utter even half a sound. It was impossible not to feel dejected and frustrated.

But more than that, it was guilt and self-blame.

Having once stumbled badly in love, she couldn’t afford another misstep. She had to find ways to remedy her past mistakes and give little Mo a firmer, more passionate love—to make little Mo willingly return to her side and be her lover, safe and secure.

She had felt little Mo’s attitude soften toward her twice in the elevator, which sparked a sudden idea: to try a bolder approach to stimulate little Mo into speaking. Tonight might be a rare opportunity.

The knowledgeable and resolute woman even imagined herself as a general reclaiming lost territory, sweeping through like a hot knife through butter, using force to bring the lost lands back under her command.

She had overestimated herself.

How could an Omega compete with an Alpha? Especially one as rare as an S+ Grade.

Little Mo had indeed been provoked to anger, but she still hadn’t heard a single word of rebuke from little Mo.

She was the one routed, the one who suffered. Before little Mo, she couldn’t be a general—only a captive surrendering without a fight.

Chi Yumo stopped releasing her pheromones, her thin, beautiful lips pressing into a straight line.

She scooped Shi Youwan up by the waist—not gently, but not roughly either—and placed her on the bed. From the bedside table, she took out a pair of disposable slippers and crouched down to remove the high heels Shi Youwan had worn all day.

The slender ankles had perfect, sculpture-like lines, full of aesthetic appeal. Where they had gotten wet in the rain, there were a few tiny specks of mud.

Chi Yumo brushed them away one by one with her fingertips before slipping the pristine jade feet into the cheap slippers.

During those two years, she had changed Shi Youwan’s shoes countless times. Changing shoes was her way of showing love to Shi Youwan, and also Shi Youwan’s way of pampering her.

Each time after changing them, Shi Youwan would hug her or kiss her.

“Thank you, little Mo.”

Shi Youwan wanted to hug her, but Chi Yumo stepped back with the shoes in hand, giving her a polite, temperatureless smile.

She placed the shoes on the lowest shelf of the entryway cabinet, then bent down to pick up the room card, mask, and the expensive tote bag—worth no less than 100,000— that Shi Youwan had tossed on the floor.

The small beige leather bag wasn’t zippered; a plaid silk scarf was wrapped around the handle, with small openings at both ends. Nothing had spilled out, but Chi Yumo’s sharp eyes spotted something familiar through the gap.

She inserted the room card, and the room lights came on. After adjusting the room temperature, Chi Yumo went into the bathroom to wash her hands.

When she came out, she took off her jacket and hung it in the closet. After a slight hesitation, she still moved the tote bag and tablet from the cabinet to the desk closer to the bed.

The room was small but clean and not rudimentary.

The TV cabinet connected to the desk, long enough for tea sets and sundries. There was no space for a sofa by the window—just two wooden chairs and a matching square table. The bed had two bedside tables and two retro-style bedside lamps.

With wallpaper on the walls and carpet on the floor, the overall decor was a common European style.

Chi Yumo drew both layers of curtains.

Suddenly, she felt Shi Youwan was so quiet it was as if she didn’t exist. She turned to look and saw the woman with her head lowered, body slightly hunched, hands clutching the quilt.

She strode over, sat beside Shi Youwan, turned her body toward her, and used her eyes to ask if she was unwell.

Meeting Chi Yumo’s slightly anxious gaze of concern, Shi Youwan’s wandering soul returned. She shook her head and smiled faintly. “I’m fine. Can you hug me again? It’s a bit cold.”

She thought it would take a while for little Mo’s response, but the tight embrace came right on time, as warm as ever.

“Little Mo, I know I was wrong, and I won’t force you to promise me anything anymore.”

Shi Youwan raised her hand, gripping Chi Yumo’s thin, straight, powerful shoulders, murmuring softly, “I’m happy and content just to see you occasionally like this and be with you. You go do what you want. No matter when, I’ll always be here.”

She had thought it through.

Little Mo had suffered such great grievances and harm because of her; the defenses she had built up couldn’t be torn down overnight.

She shouldn’t have stimulated little Mo to speak under the guise of doing it for her own good, doing things against her nature and intentions.

She was terrified that once her intentions were exposed, the hard-won “intimacy” with little Mo would regress to freezing point. She feared her guilt over little Mo’s muteness would erode her sanity, leading to rash and aggressive actions that would only push little Mo further away.

Unable to speak, unable to call her “sister”…

What did it matter?

Little Mo was still little Mo. Even if she never spoke again in this lifetime, she would love little Mo forever, protect her forever, and spend a lifetime mending and healing her wounded heart.

It would get better.

She and little Mo would surely have a day of melting ice, clouds parting to reveal the sun. They would understand each other, guard each other, love each other until the end of their lives.

Chi Yumo held Shi Youwan comfortingly for a good while. When they parted, she also kissed Shi Youwan’s forehead.

The atmosphere shifted from ambiguous to melancholic—who’s heart wouldn’t ache?

She went to get her phone from the desk; there were quite a few unread messages. After scanning from top to bottom to see who they were from, she first opened Qiao Ke’s.

[Qiao Ke: Miss Mo, President Shi’s Heat Period is likely in the next few days this month. Please keep an eye on her.]

[Qiao Ke: Thank you.]

Heat Period?

So Shi Youwan had come to Lingjiang to find her to help her through her Heat Period? That thing was probably prepared for the Heat Period too.

Omegas did develop a dependency on the pheromones of the Alpha who marked them.

If it was a Permanent Mark, this dependency wouldn’t weaken during the mark’s duration.

If it was only a Temporary Mark, the Omega’s dependency on that specific Alpha would diminish month by month with time until it vanished.

Just last week, she had given Shi Youwan multiple Temporary Marks, so Shi Youwan was currently in a heavy dependency phase on her pheromones.

If Shi Youwan didn’t get her pheromones to soothe her this month’s Heat Period, she would face torment ten times more painful than usual.

In fact, it had puzzled her that even her own Susceptible Period hadn’t triggered Shi Youwan’s Heat Period.

She remembered that in the past, Shi Youwan’s Heat Period had been at the beginning of the month.

But combining what Qiao Ke and Yin Man had said, it was normal for Shi Youwan’s cycle to be delayed after a major illness in the second half of last year. Her own Susceptible Period was erratic too, with no pattern.

She replied to Qiao Ke with [Okay], handled the other important messages, then picked up the mineral water on the desk, twisted it open, and handed it to Shi Youwan.

After she drank some, Chi Yumo took it back and tilted her head to finish the rest.

This casual action fell into Shi Youwan’s eyes, providing yet another layer of comfort.

However, as Chi Yumo stood by the desk holding the empty bottle, typing into the chat box with her head lowered, she didn’t notice Shi Youwan’s tender, affectionate gaze following her.

Her attention was all on the phone screen, carefully editing and revising the words: [President Shi, I am deeply grateful for your great kindness to me in Lan Wei and have nothing to repay it with. If you have needs in that regard in the future and don’t mind my current status, why not draft a “lover contract”? It stipulates that during your Heat Period, I have the obligation to help relieve your heat. You are the employer, I am the employee. Once a month, settled per session, 100,000 per time. You acknowledged this price before.]

After confirming the wording several times, Chi Yumo clicked “send.”

A shattered, alluring, gentle, seductive Omega and her mute Alpha whose heart was like stagnant dead water. Age gap of 13 · redemption mutual pursuit · body and soul 1v1 · sweet and abusive HE. Before losing her voice, Chi Yumo served as Shi Youwan's bodyguard for two years. She was the only Alpha in this president Omega's thirty-five years of life, and also the only lover permitted to share clouds and rain with her in the darkness. Shi Youwan had an "illegitimate daughter" registered under someone else's name. Chi Yumo tolerated the illegitimate daughter in every possible way, yet she provoked her—"I've grown up and become an adult. I look more and more like my birth mother. You, this imperfect substitute, should step aside now." ** At Chi Yumo's graduation performance, Shi Youwan failed to show up. The illegitimate daughter sent her a photo—*Did you see? I'm her first choice.* What hurt Chi Yumo even more was learning the day after her birthday that Shi Youwan would marry someone else. She clung to Shi Youwan, crying and begging: "Sister, I don't want you to become someone else's wife." Shi Youwan coldly pushed her away: "Stay or leave. You choose." Bodyguard, lover, substitute... Chi Yumo could accept all those roles. But homewrecker? She could not. **[Small Theater]** A year after their parting, at a banquet, Shi Youwan watched as Chi Yumo was pulled shoulder-to-shoulder by her new boss, who introduced her to various dignitaries: "Take good care of my little Mo Mo." She pulled the girl into a hidden spot and stroked the scar on her wrist, which was concealed by a tattoo. Her eyes brimmed with affection: "Why pretend you don't know me? Why won't you talk to me?" The glamorous boss came looking: "My little Mo Mo, why are you running off?" Chi Yumo stepped to the boss's side and signed fluently—*She drank too much and mistook me for someone else.* The boss leaned in with a teasing smirk: "Don't take it personally, President Shi. Mo Mo can't speak. The friend you know... she wouldn't be a mute, would she?" A mute? In that instant, the beauty burst into tears. ** After a thousand sails had passed, Chi Yumo—besmirched with infamy and weary to her core—only wanted to give Shi Youwan some peace. But she had forgotten: whether in shadowy back alleys, outside cold and damp police stations, amid the clinking glasses of banquets, or in the painful desperation of isolation rooms... Every encounter and reunion was not her finding Shi Youwan, but Shi Youwan, who never came late. So when she finally regained her voice and said to Shi Youwan, with polite respect, "Auntie Shi, thank you for your care," she saw in the woman's eyes a love and resentment so thick it threatened to devour her whole. As if to say, *Xiao Mo, did you think calling me "Auntie" would make me stop loving you?*
