Chapter 11:
It was like the flower season in April, when after a cold frost, the gentle spring breeze returns to offer its comfort.
Mu Sixue’s soft words were sweeter than the most delicate cake roll in the morning.
The students present were dumbfounded. Was this the Senior Mu Sixue they knew?
Their surprise was also ignored. A subtle, indescribable magnetic field flowed between Mu Sixue and Yan Qinghe.
Under the watchful eyes of everyone, they were secretly envious.
It seemed that all it would take was a nod from Yan Qinghe for Mu Sixue to agree to John’s request.
The surrounding crowd exchanged knowing glances, a silent, gossipy understanding passing between them.
Finally, all these gazes converged into a single, straight beam, aimed directly at Yan Qinghe.
Say it—
You want her to act! Invite her!
Curious, envious, and expectant gazes poured down on Yan Qinghe like a waterfall. Could she really refuse to let Mu Sixue act?
She had a vague, almost nonexistent feeling that Mu Sixue had taken on the role of the drummer for her, and was now willing to play Su for her as well.
She had troubled Mu Sixue too many times, and she felt a little guilty.
She had never liked being indebted to people. How could she repay Mu Sixue?
What did Mu Sixue like? What did she hate? She had no idea.
She was like a gentle breeze in a spring night, brushing against her cheek in her moments of weary darkness, whispering a reminder: I will bring you spring.
In the end, it was a reflection of the fact that she couldn’t refuse Mu Sixue’s help, yet she still felt uneasy.
This unease, after Mu Sixue changed and came out of the dressing room, was crushed into a few degrees of astonishment in her eyes.
A vintage Victorian white dress draped over Mu Sixue’s body. As she walked out gracefully, everyone’s eyes lit up.
Like a white lotus blooming proudly on the tip of a lotus leaf in a lush green pond, she was graceful and otherworldly.
The rehearsal proceeded quickly. This scene didn’t have many lines, and Mu Sixue was a quick study. The first half of the rehearsal went smoothly.
“What did Senior just say?”
“Uh… I don’t know, I was just staring at her face.”
The only drawback was that her beauty was so distracting that people overlooked her lines.
“Why? Your brother loves me very much, and you know I have no family.” Mu Sixue’s Su lifted her face, a mix of pitiful charm and compelling pride in her expression.
When she said she had no family, Mu Sixue’s eyes dimmed for a moment before quickly returning to their original color—firm and resilient.
It happened so fast that Yan Qinghe, who was preparing to hug her, thought it was a trick of the eye.
Ah, so I can’t escape this scene after all? Yan Qinghe’s thin lips tightened. Apart from the dream, she had never been this close to Mu Sixue before.
Perhaps it was because of the dream. The thought of the upcoming hug and kiss, even if the latter was faked, made Yan Qinghe feel a strange sense of guilt.
In the dream, she had hugged Mu Sixue from behind, only realizing it when she touched her firm, curvaceous form.
She mentally slapped her cheeks, trying to make the subtle tension from yesterday’s dream disappear.
She just hoped her body would cooperate and not have a damned rejection reaction.
She bit her lip and, in one go, took a few steps forward and hugged the other from the front.
The embrace felt much the same as in the dream.
The white, fluffy sweater from the dream and the woman’s thin, off-the-shoulder white dress were of the same color.
Surprisingly, there wasn’t much resistance or awkwardness.
A guest in dreams and in reality; she couldn’t tell if she was dreaming again.
She felt her body, for the moment it was enveloped like a flower bud, become as if it were nailed to her own.
Does Senior seem a bit stiff?
Perhaps she was hugging too tightly, appearing a bit forward. Yan Qinghe felt a little embarrassed and was about to loosen her grip and switch to a more casual embrace.
But the person in her arms clung to her in return, like a vine wrapping around a tree, soft and boneless.
“Good!” John praised silently. The chemistry between the two was strong.
Especially after Su’s momentary stiffness, she had hugged the other even tighter.
It was a perfect interpretation of the character’s psychological struggle.
He hadn’t expected Mu Sixue, a non-drama major, to be so layered in her performance.
The people around held their breath. The next scene was the most anticipated kissing scene. With such strong sexual tension, did they still need to fake it?
They couldn’t help but sigh inwardly, wishing they could clear the set and let the two of them do multiple takes to properly exchange kissing techniques.
“I am! But family and a lover are different. I ultimately belong to your brother. I can only hug and kiss your brother.”
Mu Sixue’s eyes were like a pool of clear spring water, and in the center of the spring, there was no reflection of the moon, only her figure.
The scent of flowers filled her clothes, and the faint fragrance of truffle and white tea lingered around her. Yan Qinghe took a deep breath, gently pulled Mu Sixue’s wrist, and the skirt swirled like scattered white petals before gathering again.
And it all ended up in Yan Qinghe’s hand, which was supporting her bottom.
Her eyelashes, as dark as a raven’s feathers, were frosted with apprehension. She turned to the side, about to fake the kiss.
But perhaps the turn was too fast. After gathering her strength, her back foot slipped, and she stumbled forward.
The woman’s red lips were just inches away. Perhaps due to surprise, they were slightly parted, as if offering an unconsciously alluring invitation.
It happened in a flash of lightning, an unstoppable moment.
Was this the premonition the dream had given her? Unease, embarrassment, curiosity… deep down, the reality she didn’t want to face was that she was a little curious if the kiss would feel the same as in the dream—fragrant and soft.
The crowd covered their mouths and gasped. The moment they had been waiting for had actually happened in such a clumsy way?!
At the last moment before their lips met, Mu Sixue’s long lashes trembled, and she turned her cheek slightly.
But it was too late. The kiss landed on the corner of her lips. Then, amidst Yan Qinghe’s embarrassed “sorry,” it lingered for a moment before she scrambled to her feet.
She was pulled up. Yan Qinghe stared at the corner of Mu Sixue’s moist lips, like the misty dew on a half-dampened red rose.
“It’s fine.” Mu Sixue smiled lightly and patted Yan Qinghe’s waist.
Yan Qinghe looked sideways at her lips, feeling as if a rose was blooming as she said those two words.
John had everyone take a five-minute break.
In a private dressing room, Mu Sixue stared at her reflection in the mirror. After playing out Su’s emotions, she felt neither joy nor sorrow.
She touched the corner of her lips, her willow-like brows furrowed. She took out a white handkerchief from her bag.
She carefully wiped the corner of her lips. “Mm, the taste of Calamansi Lime—an alpha.”
Her red lips parted, enunciating each word.
As she raised her hand, the silver ring on her right middle finger seemed to be a reminder of her identity, or perhaps something else.
Tap—a sound barely heavier than a feather.
The used handkerchief was carelessly tossed into the trash can by the vanity, as if falling into the mouth of a four-sided beast in the dark night.
She clapped her hands and let out a soft breath, her eyes returning to their clear, post-snow brightness.
