Big Sis Long Ying—or more precisely, the long-skirted version of her—felt refreshingly novel to Yan Zhen, if he was being honest. Yet at her core, she hadn’t changed much from before; he could spot her from a mile away. Take her eating speed, for instance: it was still shockingly fast. In one swift slurp, a plump beast leg vanished, leaving behind nothing but an arm-thick bone—not a shred of elegance in sight.
To the Dragon God Clan, though, this was pure heroism, the mark of true grandeur. The Little Princess was every bit as splendid as her title suggested. Well done—applause all around!
Long Ying didn’t forget to serve Yan Zhen food amid her own enthusiastic devouring. Before he knew it, his plate was stacked high with layer upon layer of meat. The sight made the Myriad Dragon King and the Black, White, and Flower Dragon Lords seethe with sour envy.
When had their Little Ying Ying ever shared such fragrant meat with anyone else? This damn kid was infuriating—no, utterly detestable!
They clutched handkerchiefs to their eyes, biting back tears.
Yan Zhen naturally sensed their stares but could only feign ignorance amid his inner exasperation.
The Jade Dragon Consort, much like the three beautiful masters, watched over the pair with a gentle smile.
“Yan Zhen Zhen, why aren’t you eating?” Long Ying asked, her mouth glistening with grease. “The Dragon Chef’s meat is delicious too—just a different flavor from what Sister Yu Xuan and the others make.”
Yan Zhen pulled out a clean handkerchief and casually wiped her mouth, tossing a piece of meat into his own with his other hand.
“I’m eating. Just not as fast as you.”
Long Ying blinked her emerald eyes, clear and luminous as polished jade.
“Yan Zhen Zhen, does this make me seem unladylike?”
Yan Zhen raised a hand to stop her.
“I know what you’re going to say, so you can skip it.”
Long Ying puffed out her cheeks and let out an arrogant huff.
Yan Zhen shot her a sidelong glance.
“Slow down, or you’ll choke.”
Unfazed, Long Ying started pilfering meat from his plate, leaving him speechless.
“Weren’t you the one who put that there for me?”
She declared with perfect righteousness, “This meat was all procured by me. Your plate is just temporary storage.”
“?”
Yan Zhen mentally formed a question mark, then silently flashed a thumbs-up.
“By the way, where are Sister Cai Lian and the others? They should join the feast too.”
“Cai Lian and Jiuyou are in secluded cultivation.”
“What about Yan Yan?”
“Yan’er says she can’t eat at banquets yet, so she’s sitting this one out. She wants you to visit her in the Fire Refining Starry Sky when you have time.”
“Yan Yan’s such a grown girl and still nursing? So useless.”
“…What are you saying? Yan’er’s only a year old.”
“Hmph. I weaned myself at one.”
Yan Zhen gave her a knowing look. Long Ying lifted her chin proudly.
“It’s true. Don’t believe me? Ask Mother Concubine.”
The Jade Dragon Consort, who had been eavesdropping covertly, twitched at the corner of her mouth. Her daughter seemed unchanged even after being reborn years into the future—should she be happy or saddened by that?
Yan Zhen broke into a cold sweat and glanced at the Jade Dragon Consort. Her gaze lingered on them, so he quickly changed the subject.
“Anyway, go play with Yan’er when you get the chance.”
Long Ying shook her head vigorously.
“I’m all grown up now. I don’t play with kids. Though as her aunt, I suppose I could indulge her for a bit.”
She flashed a smug grin.
“Yan’er still sees you as the big sis.”
Long Ying froze, then caught on and stressed, “I’m not the big sis—I’m Yan Yan’s aunt! I’ve figured it out, Yan Zhen Zhen. You like me, hehe~”
Yan Zhen rolled his eyes.
“Delusional Dragon. Steamed Shrimp Head.”
Undeterred, Long Ying grabbed a chicken leg and held it up to him.
“Yan Zhen Zhen, ahh—”
Yan Zhen glanced around. Dozens of eyes—including the Myriad Dragon King’s and the Jade Dragon Consort’s—were fixed on them. He realized that whether he ate it or not, he’d end up getting mobbed.
Weighing his options, he figured eating was the lesser evil. Refusing might even drag the Jade Dragon Consort into the fray.
“Yan Zhen Zhen, ahh—”
Prodded by Long Ying, Yan Zhen endured the embarrassment and accepted the feeding from this rice-bucket dragon girl.
Watching him devour the meat she’d offered, Long Ying beamed, her eyes squinting in delight.
“Yan Zhen Zhen is so cute~”
Utterly speechless, Yan Zhen snatched an identical chicken leg and stuffed it into her mouth.
“Eat your meat. You talk too much.”
Long Ying polished it off in two bites and gazed at him pleadingly.
“I want more!”
“Get it yourself.”
No sooner had he spoken than the Myriad Dragon King coughed twice. The Black, White, and Flower Dragon Lords chimed in via voice transmission:
“Feed her!”
“Serve her bites!”
“Tell her she’s cute!”
The pressure was immense. This was exactly why Yan Zhen had no desire to visit the Dragon God Clan—not a single normal dragon among them.
He shot a pleading look at the three beautiful masters, only to find them watching the drama unfold with evident amusement.
Sigh.
“Yan Zhen Zhen! Yan Zhen Zhen!”
Long Ying knew full well that even grown up, her cuteness was her weapon. She was shamelessly acting coquettish toward him.
“Fine, fine.”
Somewhat helpless, Yan Zhen continued feeding the rice-bucket dragon girl. Truth be told, he didn’t mind much—it was no different from their usual routine; he’d always fed her like this.
The only change was that she was no longer Loli Dragon but Big Sis Dragon. Simply put, his own mindset had shifted.
He was starting to see her as a woman, not just a kid in need of his care.
By the meal’s end, Long Ying was bubbling with joy, little metaphorical flowers blooming atop her head as she clung to Yan Zhen.
The Myriad Dragon King’s face remained stormy, as if Yan Zhen owed him millions. The Jade Dragon Consort, by contrast, beamed with contentment.
But just as the banquet was wrapping up, a Mystic Ancestor Realm Dragon Guard stepped forward to report.
“Your Majesty, envoys from the Phoenix God Clan request an audience.”
The Myriad Dragon King’s eyes sharpened. His gaze pierced across the vast clan grounds to the main gate, identifying the uninvited guests.
Leading them was one of the Phoenix God Clan’s ‘Five Phoenixes’—their former goddess, Huang Feng, a Three-Star Mystic Saint.
Accompanying her were Half-Saint elders from the Phoenix God Clan and the current Phoenix Goddess.
All women, five in total.
The Dragon God Clan had far more males than females, which was why they doted on Little Princess Long Ying so fiercely. The Phoenix God Clan was the opposite: females outnumbered males, and the men held lower status there.
The Myriad Dragon King frowned. Why had these troublesome phoenixes shown up? Could it be—
The Jade Dragon Consort spotted the Phoenix God Clan arrivals too and instantly grasped that they were here for her daughter. With a soft huff, she said,
“Let them in. This Consort wants to see what games they’re playing.”
The Dragon Guard assented and was about to relay the order when a space portal ripped open beside him. The Phoenix God Clan group teleported directly in from the main gate. The assembled Dragon God Clan powerhouses set down their chopsticks in unison, going on alert. Dragon Guards materialized instantly to protect the king.
Huang Feng, the Resplendent Phoenix Saint Lord, showed no fear. Her beautiful face lifted proudly as she surveyed the hall and smiled faintly.
“Hosting a banquet? How leisurely of you, Dragon King and Dragon Consort.”
