What had started as an ordinary group bath devolved into a bizarre family drama when Elder Great-Aunt spilled her secrets. In the aftermath, one after another, they all died a little inside from the sheer embarrassment. As the central figure in the fiasco, Yan Zhen felt like his head was about to explode.
Fortunately, time was up, and the bath finally came to an end.
The five women gathered their composure and left the pool first. After steaming the water from their bodies, they headed into the bedroom to change into fresh clothes.
Only once they had finished dressing did Yan Zhen emerge from the water. He dried off and slipped into the sleep robe the Yu Family had prepared for him.
To be precise, it was a sleep robe—light and thin in fabric, loose in fit, and quite comfortable to wear. The only downside was its drab gray color, which wasn’t particularly flattering.
Yan Zhen patted his cheeks and steadied his breathing, doing his best to calm his emotions before facing the women in the bedroom with composure.
He rounded the screen and stepped out to find them seated in a circle around the table, all staring straight at him. Even though their gazes were gentle, it didn’t stop the pressure from mounting on Yan Zhen.
The five women were all dressed in identical deep blue sleep robes, the hems falling just to their knees and revealing calves as white and flawless as jade, along with their elegant feet. Seated like that in a circle, they made for a captivating sight.
Just moments ago, they had been airing each other’s dirty laundry and cringing in mutual mortification, but now they seemed united as one front. A woman’s heart truly was impossible to read!
“Ahem, Mother-in-law,” Yan Zhen cleared his throat. “What’s next?”
The Family Head Yu Lu replied coolly, “According to the usual routine, the final step is pillow talk.”
Yan Zhen’s expression froze. Pillow talk, in simple terms, meant casual chatting before bed.
Back on Earth before his transmigration, during his university days, Yan Zhen’s dorm had often hosted such sessions—lights out, phones glowing, everyone chattering away.
Suddenly, it clicked for Yan Zhen why so many people were sharing so few rooms. They were all going to sleep together. The bed was enormous; it could probably fit ten people lying side by side.
“Then you all chat,” he said. “I’ll head to the room next door.”
The Family Head Yu Lu shook her head. “You’re joining us.”
“Huh?” Yan Zhen blinked. “That doesn’t seem appropriate, does it?”
“You sleep on the inside, right next to Xuan’er,” the Family Head Yu Lu declared, her decision already made. “Just behave yourself, and there won’t be any issues.”
Yan Zhen glanced at Mentor Yu Xuan. She was still putting on her pouty “ignore the bad man” act, but after a moment’s thought, without making a fuss, she nodded in agreement.
He still wanted a chance to coax his mentor and soothe her temper, after all.
The Family Head Yu Lu spoke again. “Son-in-Law Yan Zhen, you get on the bed first.”
Since he was taking the innermost spot.
Yan Zhen got the picture. Barefoot, he clambered onto the massive bed and shuffled all the way to the inside before sitting down.
Seeing this, the women followed suit, climbing onto the bed one by one.
From inside to out, the order was Yan Zhen, Mentor Yu Xuan, Grand Mentor Shui Bailan, Dean Yu Qing, the Family Head Yu Lu, and Elder Yu Yan—arranged by age.
Elder Yu Yan said with a mischievous smile, “If Little Yan Zhen feels nervous, you can come over here instead. I’ll hold you while you sleep.”
Yan Zhen broke out in a light sweat. “No need, Great-Aunt. I’m fine right next to the mentor.”
Dean Yu Qing issued a “warning.” “We’re all sleeping together, so no getting handsy. If you try anything, I won’t let you off easy!”
Yan Zhen looked speechlessly at the Dean Little Aunt, who was the pot calling the kettle black. “It’s not like everyone pulls a night raid like Little Aunt—”
Dean Yu Qing’s face instantly flushed crimson. She dropped her tsundere pose at once and burrowed into the silken thin quilt like an ostrich.
Grand Mentor Shui Bailan felt a touch helpless to herself. She’s been completely exposed, and yet she insists on playing the tsundere to the bitter end. I really have no idea what my silly best friend is thinking.
The six of them lay down one after another. The lights extinguished soundlessly, plunging the bedroom into dimness.
However, everyone on the bed was a powerful cultivator; a little darkness like this couldn’t hinder their vision in the slightest.
The four beautiful elders began chatting idly about everyday trifles.
Seeing this, Yan Zhen rolled over to face Mentor Yu Xuan. He leaned close to her ear and whispered, “Is the mentor still mad?”
Mentor Yu Xuan had been hoping her silly sweetheart would come up with some sweet nothings to coax her. Instead, he led with the most straightforward question imaginable. She got annoyed and turned to glare at him, her expression clearly saying—
Open your eyes and look at my face right now. Does it look like I’m not mad?
(。oˇˇo。)
“Uh.”
Yan Zhen realized his words had come off a bit dumb, but he really couldn’t think of a more tactful opener. He could only be direct.
He quickly tried to make amends. “What I mean is, don’t be mad anymore, mentor. It was my fault—I shouldn’t have kept it from you. I’m apologizing to you. Will you forgive me, mentor?”
Hearing this, Mentor Yu Xuan’s expression finally softened a little. Seeing the pleading look on his face, her mood lifted rapidly.
Truth be told, she understood that Yan Zhen couldn’t hold out against Great-Aunt’s onslaught. After all, Great-Aunt was arguably the most formidable figure in the Yu Family aside from the revered ancestor herself—even the clan elders got played around like fools by her, let alone a pure-hearted young man like Yan Zhen.
It was just that thinking about how Yan Zhen had secretly made that promise with Great-Aunt made Mentor Yu Xuan’s heart ache, as if she had lost both of their affections at once.
Fortunately, whether it was Great-Aunt or Yan Zhen, they both still cared deeply for her.
Mentor Yu Xuan had originally planned to say, “Give me a kiss, and I’ll forgive you.” But now, with that in mind, she felt a twinge of fear.
She bit her lip, reached out, and gently pushed Yan Zhen, rolling him from his side onto his back. Her body drew close as she sealed his lips with her soft, glistening ones.
“!?”
Caught off guard, Yan Zhen froze for a moment before joy surged through him. The mentor had forgiven him—she was taking the initiative with a kiss!
The mentor really is the gentlest!
And so, he carefully reciprocated Mentor Yu Xuan’s sentiment, intending to share a light, reconciliatory kiss with her.
But soon, Yan Zhen sensed something was off. Mentor Yu Xuan’s actions seemed awfully intense, as if she didn’t care at all that four beautiful elders were lying right there on the bed with them.
After kissing his lips, Mentor Yu Xuan wasn’t satisfied. She continued planting kisses on other parts of him.
Yan Zhen’s breathing gradually grew heavier as an unbearable heat built inside him.
He had downed nearly a whole pot of Dragon Blood Tea the night before, eaten heaps of Mystic Food today, and even soaked in the Spirit Spring. His vital energy was already surging; it was like a spark to dry tinder.
“Mentor?”
Yan Zhen tried to press down on his mentor wife’s head, but she swatted his hand away and continued doing as she pleased, savoring her lover’s skin.
The key was, she studiously avoided the places she should have touched.
Yan Zhen got it. This wasn’t a reconciliatory kiss at all—it was… blatant punishment!
But—but the elders are right there on the bed!
He clearly noticed the four beautiful elders’ conversation tapering off until it fell completely silent. In the dimness, only the sounds of Mentor Yu Xuan’s kisses remained. Then he sensed the breathing of the elders sharing the bed quicken ever so slightly.
Mentor Yu Xuan paid it no mind, utterly immersed in the delight of teasing her lover. There was even a hint of forceful violation to it, the kind that evoked thoughts of wifely strong-arming.
