Lu Zhixia’s standard way of getting revenge: if she wasn’t having a good time, no one else would either.
Taking advantage of the cover of night, she cornered Shen Wanqing and bit down on the glands at the nape of her neck and her earlobe, marking them both.
It happened so fast, it was like she’d been planning it for ages.
Shen Wanqing pushed her away with a hand, only for her palm to end up with a matching tattoo—a neat row of teeth marks. As the pain hit her, Lu Zhixia had already slipped away.
The gland at the nape of her neck was the worst off; it was outright broken.
Shen Wanqing leaned against a tree trunk, taking quite a while to steady her roiling emotions.
By the time she made her way back to the crowd, Lu Zhixia was munching away on some food. Seeing Shen Wanqing not even bothering to hide the “crimes” she’d just committed, she nearly choked.
Shen Wanqing’s shirt was buttoned all the way to the top, but when she rolled up her sleeve, someone noticed the bite on her hand and asked with concern, “President Shen, what happened there?” They gestured toward their own palm as they spoke.
Shen Wanqing glanced over at Lu Zhixia and said casually, “Got bit by a dog.”
A bunch of people immediately crowded around, asking if she needed to call someone or rush to get a rabies shot.
“It’s fine,” Shen Wanqing said, shaking out her hand. She raised her voice. “Lu Zhixia, come take care of it for me.”
Whoever did it should clean it up—couldn’t be more reasonable.
Lu Zhixia bristled at suddenly being called out, but she put on an innocent, aggrieved expression. “I was working overtime the whole time and haven’t even eaten yet. How about I call your personal doctor to handle it?”
Everyone turned to stare. The new special assistant was talking to President Shen like that?
The surroundings fell quiet in an instant as the partygoers stealthily watched the drama unfolding.
“It’s just a little scratch—no need to call anyone else,” Shen Wanqing said calmly. She turned, spotted the head chef, and beckoned him over. “Get dinner ready early. I’ll have her bring it up when it’s time. Everyone else, keep enjoying yourselves until midnight, then head home early.”
Shen Wanqing had blocked off all escape routes. Lu Zhixia had no choice but to grab her laptop and follow her upstairs.
They walked in silence, coming to a stop once more in front of that familiar door. Memories flooded back.
That first night they’d met, Lu Zhixia had been brimming with hostility toward Shen Wanqing and hadn’t held back at all.
Now, as Lu Zhixia looked down, she could see the evidence of her mischief: the gland at the nape of Shen Wanqing’s neck was flushed red, already awakened.
Even if Lu Zhixia tilted her head up, she couldn’t block out the scent of Udumbara pheromones.
Twenty layers of inhibitor patches were for nothing. She patted her pocket, frowning, then checked again—the rest of her inhibitor patches really were gone.
Just as Lu Zhixia opened her mouth to speak, Shen Wanqing dragged her inside.
“You’re the president—watch your image,” Lu Zhixia said as she stepped in, immediately veering off to sit at the desk. “I’m working overtime anyway.” She spouted nonsense with a straight face. “I’m such a model employee, working while everyone else parties. Don’t you think you should reward me, President Shen?”
Shen Wanqing followed her over, undoing the top button of her shirt and leaning against the edge of the desk. In a mild tone, she asked, “Start trouble and then walk away?”
Lu Zhixia didn’t look up. “You started it with me first.”
“Self-deception.” Shen Wanqing shrugged off her shirt, revealing pale, flawless skin and beautiful curves. “You clearly have ideas about me.”
Lu Zhixia was about to retort when Shen Wanqing tossed the shirt right over her head.
“Go take a shower first. You next.”
Lu Zhixia yanked the shirt off. It was saturated with Udumbara pheromones. Frowning, she demanded, “What exactly are you trying to do?”
Shen Wanqing paused mid-step, then turned back. Her graceful figure made Lu Zhixia’s head spin.
She stepped right up, using the tip of her finger to tilt Lu Zhixia’s chin up and give it a little scratch. With a faint smile, she said, “No more work.”
Then she leaned down to her ear, her warm breath carrying two words.
One direction: up.
One pronoun: me.
Lu Zhixia was already on edge—how could she withstand such direct words?
Her most immediate reaction was that her gland rebelled even under the suppression of twenty inhibitor patches, dragging the last dormant one into awakening.
Lu Zhixia tried to stand, but Shen Wanqing smoothly settled onto her lap, arms around her neck, leaning down as if to kiss her.
Her heart pounded wildly. Reason screamed at her to pull away, but her body betrayed her, frozen in place with a hint of anticipation for what came next.
Suddenly, with a sharp rip, pain made Lu Zhixia cry out.
The twenty layers of inhibitor patches were torn off in one go, exposing the awakened gland to the air.
The long-suppressed urges crashed over her like a tidal wave. Her final gland awakened almost instantly.
Her body took on a mind of its own. Lu Zhixia scooped up the woman in her lap and laid her out on the desk, pinning her down, eyes burning with barely restrained fire.
“Shen Wanqing,” she said through gritted teeth, “can you just behave for five minutes?”
She’d been holding back so hard, not wanting to lose control—but it looked like that was all wishful thinking now.
Shen Wanqing braced her hands on the desk, her full breasts rising proudly, tracing a beautiful valley of cleavage.
She tilted her head back slightly. Even pinned down beneath her, she still carried that lofty, untouchable air. In a calm voice, she said, “I told you to send it at ten o’clock. You sent it at ten past. That’s ten minutes late.”
Lu Zhixia was fuming. How could she still be going on about that right now? She bore down harder.
Shen Wanqing couldn’t hold out any longer and simply lay back.
Lu Zhixia’s broad palm clamped around her throat. With fierce momentum, she growled, “Yeah, so I’m late. What’re you gonna do about it?”
Shen Wanqing lay there comfortably, her smile sultry and alluring. She rested a hand on Lu Zhixia’s wrist, her fingertip tracing lazily along the taut muscle of her arm. “Then your punishment is ten minutes,” she drawled. “No marking me.”
“Let me go, then.” Lu Zhixia struggled, but her waist was caught in an iron grip.
Her body swayed, her ample breasts shifting with the motion. There was no escaping the wave of seductive heat washing over her. Annoyed, she snapped, “Shen Wanqing, are you out of your mind?”
“Yes.” Shen Wanqing’s cool palm glided softly along her arm. “Got any medicine?”
“You’re not letting me mark you, but you won’t let me go either. What the hell do you want?” Lu Zhixia was livid. Her gland was awakening, a growing ache building inside her. They were too close—she couldn’t stop the flood of vivid images filling her mind.
The brush of that palm against her skin was like ants crawling over her flesh. Lu Zhixia shuddered, her breath hitching as her body trembled faintly.
She fought to hold herself back, but Shen Wanqing clearly had no intention of letting up. She seized Lu Zhixia’s wrist and slowly drew it toward the side of her neck.
Shen Wanqing’s strength was always an enigma. One moment she could shove Lu down and pin her; the next, escape was impossible. Lu Zhixia could only watch as Shen Wanqing bared her neck, leaning in to lick her arm like some affectionate little animal.
Heat surged through her body. Lu Zhixia’s breathing grew heavy, her brows knitting tightly.
And there was Shen Wanqing, every inch the temptress, reclining with those innocent eyes gazing up at her.
Lu Zhixia felt those heterochromatic eyes hook into her, snaring her body and soul. She teetered on the edge of losing control.
“Shen Wanqing,” she said, pursing her lips and exhaling a hot breath as she fought for restraint, “this is dangerous.”
The moment she lost it, she’d mark her wildly—like a beast in a cage battering down the last barriers of her reason.
Shen Wanqing looked every bit the pure, innocent little rabbit, blissfully unaware of the danger drawing near. She teased her relentlessly, her gaze never wavering.
Lu Zhixia braced both hands on the desk and spat through gritted teeth, “You’re doing this on purpose.”
Her only reply was that look in her eyes, that deliberate touch—trails of warm saliva left along her arm. Shen Wanqing tilted her head slightly, revealing the elegant curve of her swan-like neck.
Lu Zhixia didn’t want to take the bait, but the temptation was too much. She thought closing her eyes and turning away might help.
Instead, soft teeth grazed her skin, paired with soothing warmth. It wasn’t just her arm anymore—those maddening gu worms burrowed straight into her bones.
And she was pinned tight, unable to pull away.
No way forward, no way back.
Lu Zhixia’s final gland was on the verge of fully awakening. In her eyes, Shen Wanqing looked more ruthless than the serpent tempting Eve.
She couldn’t hold back any longer. Screw it all.
But in the next instant, the fleshy web between Shen Wanqing’s thumb and forefinger clamped onto her throat—just like Lu Zhixia had done to her. She forced her down hard, though a few centimeters still separated them.
Shen Wanqing’s beautiful heterochromatic eyes shimmered, brimming with a year’s worth of amorous scenery.
Fury and frustration boiled inside her. She craned her neck high and bore down with all her might.
Shen Wanqing reached up, brushing Lu Zhixia’s hair from her temple. Her breath was sweet as orchids. “Just ten minutes,” she murmured. “Can’t you hold out?”
Lu Zhixia suddenly remembered her words about the punishment. The force she’d been suppressing surged back twice as strong.
Now she craved it even more—a deep, prolonged, hysterical marking.
“How much longer?” She stared her down fiercely, a predatory hunger in her gaze like she wanted to devour her whole.
Shen Wanqing’s breathing remained steady, a faint blush coloring her cheeks. She stroked the top of Lu Zhixia’s head unhurriedly, like she was soothing a restless wild beast. “Half a minute.”
“30, 29, 28…” Lu Zhixia began counting down, straining with all her might toward the source of her torment.
Her throat was gripped tight, but she barely noticed. Her voice came out hoarse as she kept counting: “18, 17, 16…”
Shen Wanqing’s stroking fingers slid slowly backward, settling around her gland and pressing gently. Her breathing quickened. Softly, she asked, “You still won’t agree to my conditions?”
“10, 9, 8…” Lu Zhixia ignored the question entirely. Her face was flushed red, her breaths coming in heavy gasps. Veins bulged along her arms, and a fine sheen of sweat beaded on her forehead.
“5, 4, 3…” Lu Zhixia’s eyes blazed like roaring flames. Her final gland awakened completely.
The countdown ended, and sure enough, Shen Wanqing eased her grip just a fraction.
That was the moment Lu Zhixia had been waiting for. All the restraint she’d shown before now fueled her thirst for payback. Shen Wanqing always had her pinned—Lu Zhixia wasn’t about to let it stand.
Lately, Lu Zhixia had been thinking about this every single day, and now that she had finally gotten what she wished for, she naturally planned to feast to her heart’s content.
Even so, Shen Wanqing still didn’t fully let go. She sat up and hugged Lu Zhixia tightly, her arms scratching at her back as she breathed hotly into her ear: “If you don’t agree, I’ll only allow you to mark for one minute.”
Shen Wanqing’s punishments always exceeded Lu Zhixia’s expectations.
“Ten minutes of punishment each time, but I’ll only allow her to mark for one minute.”
This was even more torturous than traversing mountains of knives or seas of fire. Lu Zhixia was nearly driven mad by her and roared, “What on earth do you want?!”
“Agree to all my conditions.” Shen Wanqing’s powerful willpower allowed her to immediately seize control the moment she wanted to stop.
Her eyes were still clearly dazed and unfocused, yet her strength was astonishingly immense. Lu Zhixia felt like she was about to explode from the overwhelming heat; she was trapped inside Shen Wanqing’s body, with nowhere to retreat.
Even though her rationality wanted to hold back, her gland was very honestly craving more. Shen Wanqing caressed her skin and murmured softly, “As long as you agree, you can do whatever you want to me.”
This was a temptation that no one could refuse. Lu Zhixia’s eyes blazed fiercely as she gritted her teeth and said, “I agree! I agree! Is that enough?!”
Shen Wanqing smiled charmingly. She marked her earlobe profoundly and murmured, “Good girl, don’t make me wait too long next time.”
In the instant Shen Wanqing dropped all her defenses, she finally welcomed the frenzied storm.
