21. Ye Ao Daoist Mountain’s Conspiracy
“Claws!?”
“Claws???”
“This is…?”
The pair of claws Gong Yiling pulled out stunned everyone.
This girl… what was she doing?
Did she actually know how to use claws? Had she practiced claw techniques?
Heh.
Actually…
She hadn’t.
But it didn’t matter. The guy she just fought, although weak, should know a thing or two, right?
After a few seconds of observation, Gong Yiling replayed Yue Chong’s every move in her mind, then replicated his technique.
Concentrate, break the surface!
She pierced a small hole in the qi shield with her claws, then tore it apart. The previously impenetrable shield was now like paper.
“How is this possible!?”
Tai Yuan was completely stunned.
He wouldn’t have been so surprised if she simply knew how to use claws, but her technique… it felt like he was fighting Yue Chong.
“You—!”
Before he could say anything, Gong Yiling had broken through his three defensive layers and was lunging for his face.
In a panic, Tai Yuan could only block and create a circular wind shield, trying to distance himself from her.
But Miss Gong wouldn’t give him the chance.
This wind shield was just a different form of a qi shield, relying on rotation and flow to make it difficult to break through. It was no match for her.
She took out her iron pot again and activated its skill.
Wind, in a sense, was a ranged attack, and the strong wind was countered by the iron pot.
She kicked the pot towards Tai Yuan, following closely behind.
Both attacked the wind shield simultaneously.
The pot neutralized part of the wind, and the claws, with this assistance, tore through the defense, striking Tai Yuan’s crossed arms.
He hadn’t expected her to break through his strongest defensive technique so quickly. His own technique was still in the charging phase when he was hit.
“Shing—” The claws tore through his flesh, the intense pain momentarily stunning him. Before he could react, the iron pot appeared before him again.
“Clang!!!!”
With this second blow, Tai Yuan, despite his sturdy build, wasn’t sent flying as far as Yue Chong, but he was still knocked off the arena, seeing stars before fainting.
The entire arena fell silent.
“I won, right?”
Gong Yiling turned to the referee.
“Ah… oh, yes. Miss Lü wins this match as well.”
The referee’s reaction mirrored the audience’s. After a moment of stunned silence, a thunderous cheer erupted.
This was a complete and utter victory.
From her initial violent assault to her sudden change in tactics, Gong Yiling never lost the upper hand. And when she used her tricks, it was an instant win.
And more absurdly… the claw technique she used was almost identical to the one Yue Chong had used against her iron pot earlier.
Did she learn it on the spot, or did she already know it? This was puzzling.
And one more thing… she still appeared to be at Core Transformation. What kind of Core Transformation was this? It was a dream.
“That bitch…!”
Not everyone was happy with Gong Yiling’s victory, especially those from Ye Ao Daoist Mountain.
Lei Che, hiding below, even wanted to go up and teach her a lesson, to avenge his earlier humiliation.
However, the woman beside him stopped him, saying coldly, “What’s the point of a meaningless fight?”
“But Senior Sister…”
“We’ve achieved our goal. Yue Chong shouldn’t have fought her, and Tai Yuan just threw himself at her.” The woman sneered and shook her head. “This girl could make Chongfang return empty-handed yesterday. She’s smart and won’t let herself be taken advantage of.”
“As for their humiliation, they’ll pay for it eventually. When they’re crying for help, they’ll know who the real clown is.”
Her absolute confidence calmed Lei Che’s agitated heart.
“Instead of worrying about this,” the woman glanced at Lei Che, “your cultivation has improved, but you’re not to tell anyone about that method.”
“If I hear any rumors, you know the consequences.”
Lei Che bowed deeply. “I understand, Senior Sister. I will remember your words and not disappoint you.”
“Good.”
The woman gave Gong Yiling a final, cold glance, a thoughtful expression on her face, then turned to leave. “It’s pointless to stay here. Let’s go.”
“Understood.”
“And give those two something to comfort them. You have to show some compassion for your own dogs.”
“This…”
Although he knew his Senior Sister was incredibly ruthless, Lei Che still felt a bit awkward.
“Understood.”
On her command, all the cultivators from Ye Ao Daoist Mountain left, looking like they were the ones who had been defeated.
And Gong Yiling, watching them leave, took out her recording stone from her sleeve.
The cheers from the crowd were deafening, but they wouldn’t be recorded.
The only sounds that would be recorded were…
—
—
“Done.”
Gong Yiling stepped off the arena and was about to hug her three girls, but they pushed her away.
“Master, ahem, Senior Sister, you’re all sweaty. Take a bath first.”
“But, but, but I can take a bath with you!”
“Ahahaha…” Miss Gong chuckled awkwardly.
Before she could say anything, Lan Suqin approached and bowed. “I underestimated you, Miss.”
“If you truly underestimated me, you wouldn’t have let me fight.” Gong Yiling smiled. “Since I decided to fight, I had to win back our face.”
“However…”
Gong Yiling walked over to Lan Suqin and whispered in her ear.
Her words made Lan Suqin’s face pale.
She looked back at the wounded disciples on the ground, then turned back to Gong Yiling in disbelief. “Are you serious?”
“Although it’s just a guess, I’m eighty to ninety percent sure.”
Gong Yiling nodded. “You can have someone check. See if I’m right.”
