16. What a Scheme
The Youcang Court’s main branch and the Youcang Court Merchant Guild were not the same place. Before, Gong Yiling had at most gone to the merchant guild to discuss some superficial cooperation.
As for this main branch, it was the place where all the high-ranking officials of the Youcang Court and a part of the Ministry of Revenue worked. If you were not an official of the Youhan Dynasty, you were not qualified to enter.
Of course, with Gong Musheng’s identity, it was not difficult to bring her maids into this place.
“Lord Superintendent.”
The few people at the door immediately cupped their hands and bowed to Gong Musheng. “Why are you here today?”
“I have some business with the Court Master, so I came back.” Gong Musheng said, “These few people I brought, two are my maids, you’ve seen them. As for this one, she is the Ghost Physician, Miss Feng Lili. Has anyone informed you already?”
The maids, actually, these guards would not have much of an impression of them. Basically, they would just listen to whatever Gong Musheng said.
And she also brought the topic to Feng Lili, which naturally attracted the attention of the crowd.
—As the rumors said, this Ghost Physician felt like a gloomy wind blowing through the body.
Having learned from others that the Ghost Physician was a woman, these guards naturally focused their attention on the specific impression.
“The Ghost Physician’s presence makes this Youcang Court shine. If possible, the Court Master actually wants to see you, of course, with Lord Gong’s company.”
“I don’t mind.” Feng Lili said, “But my whereabouts these days are arranged by others. If the Court Master wants to see me, why not choose today?”
Hearing this, the guard’s heart was relieved.
This way, the most important matter was settled, and the Court Master’s first choice was also today.
“In that case, then I will immediately make some arrangements for the meeting of the two of you.” At this point, the guard turned to Gong Musheng. “Does Lord Gong want to see the Court Master now?”
“Just tell me if he’s here or not.”
“He is, but now the Court Master is meeting with an honored guest. It may take a while for Lord Gong to wait—”
At this point, a deep male voice suddenly came from behind.
“No need to wait.” The man walked up to the few people on his own, especially to Feng Lili and Gong Musheng. “Mei Yuqing, I didn’t know the Ghost Physician was here. I should have come to greet you in person.”
Feng Lili replied, “I came uninvited. You are too kind, Court Master.”
This man did not look very old, at least much younger than Elder Zhao, and a little older than them.
And this name, Gong Yiling on the side seemed to have some impression.
The Mei family represented by this person was an ancient financial magnate on the continent. Their influence was almost all over the world. As for how much money they had, no one could say for sure.
For a person from such a family to be the Court Master, I don’t know if this was a waste of talent or what. In short, after Elder Zhao left, he did take on this responsibility, and all aspects of the matter were handled perfectly.
Of course, as for some of this big brother’s hidden settings, only Miss Yan Chuyue, the author, knew.
“In that case, you two come with me now. Is there a problem?”
“No problem.” “No.”
With that, Mei Yuqing led the two to another place, leaving only Yan Chuyue and Gong Yiling to be taken to a rest area by the guards.
There were other people staring here, and now there was no way to go elsewhere. The two could only find some topics to chat about.
Gong Yiling winked at her and asked, “Guess why this Court Master is looking for Senior Feng?”
However, to her surprise, Yan Chuyue said without thinking, “I think you look better when you’re small.”
After saying this, Yan Chuyue immediately covered her mouth, and Gong Yiling, after a moment of stunned silence, quickly reacted.
“The spoiler restriction again?” Miss Gong smiled with great interest. “I thought the author had forgotten this setting. You haven’t said much lately.”
“Don’t you see if the things that have happened recently are what I, the original author, should be clear about?” Yan Chuyue, after putting down her hands, mumbled with some helplessness, “But… even this will be judged as a spoiler?”
This strange spoiler restriction, according to the previous actual situation, would only appear on the original plot that Gong Yiling was completely unaware of.
And if there was no prompt, it was difficult to directly deduce anything from the some of the news she had mastered.
Therefore, just based on this characteristic, Miss Gong had a guess. “The things they want to talk about may be related to the great war that we and Murong Jing are going to cause, but this is only one aspect.”
“The Mei family clan is no less than the Leng family and the Gong family on this continent. In other words… the things they want to talk about may be related to some things of the Mei family clan, right?”
Hearing this, Yan Chuyue immediately nodded. “But this matter should have nothing to do with us for the time being. At that time, you can also ask Auntie Sheng to see if they have said anything.”
“I know this.”
To this statement, Gong Yiling was naturally aware of it. After temporarily solving this puzzle, she suddenly rolled her eyes and asked with a smile,
“Compared to this, do you really think I look better when I’m small?”
This question made Yan Chuyue speechless.
Although it was a statement that was suddenly changed because of some strange setting, in fact, Yan Chuyue herself knew that these words were not really nonsense, but were some of her inner thoughts spoken out loud.
So, should she admit this view or not? This was a question.
After thinking carefully for a while, Yan Chuyue instead threw this question back to her.
“Do you think you look better when you’re small or now?”
“I think you look better.”
This person! This person, how! Completely not playing by the rules!?
Miss Gong’s answer immediately made Yan Chuyue not know what to say.
Fortunately, Yan Chuyue was not a thin-skinned woman. After hearing this, she did not blush at all, but pouted and glanced at her. “Do you have to say that?”
“At this time, shouldn’t you be blushing and pretending to be angry, and then say ‘I’m being serious,’ and then I’ll reply ‘I’m also serious,’ blah blah blah—”
“Stop, stop, stop!” Hearing her say this, Yan Chuyue unceremoniously interrupted her.
“What?”
“You’ve practiced this set of words so smoothly. Have you said it to many people?”
“No.” Miss Gong said seriously, “Do I look like this kind of person?”
“Yes.”
