Upon becoming an Apostle, one gained Divine Power. While Divine Power was primarily used to activate abilities, circulating it throughout one’s body in daily life could also provide a certain degree of physical enhancement, though it was not particularly noticeable.
Now, having channeled Divine Power to her eyes, Amelia could finally see the situation inside the domed building clearly.
Within the spacious structure, the most prominent features were iron cages, one after another, too numerous to count at a glance.
Inside the cages were homeless people who had been lured here under false pretenses. The trapped victims, upon realizing their predicament, were furiously rattling the bars of their cages, filled with a mixture of anger and terror, not knowing what fate awaited them.
As for the few guards, they had groped their way to dark corners in the blackout, intending to use the darkness to evade Amelia’s pursuit.
Clearly, they didn’t understand that this level of darkness was useless against an Apostle, even a trainee one.
Spotting their figures, Amelia directly raised Silver Moon and aimed at them, gathering the power of wind.
Wind’s Sigh!
“Swoosh!”
The arrow shot through the air, piercing a man’s back and drawing a sharp scream from him.
The chilling sound terrified the others, who immediately scrambled away from the source of the scream.
But they had no idea that their every move was under Amelia’s watchful gaze.
Amelia closed the distance, firing Wind’s Sigh at such close range that it didn’t take long for her to shoot down each and every guard before her eyes.
By now, silence had fallen over the interior of the building. Even the homeless people in the cages had stopped their shouting.
They had all heard the blood-curdling cries.
They didn’t know what was happening. Surrounded by absolute darkness, they could see nothing, only hearing the agonized shrieks. It made them shrink into the corners of their cages, trembling, too afraid to make any more noise.
After dealing with the guards, Amelia walked over and searched the bodies, finding a ring of keys.
I’m actually getting used to dead bodies up close now?
Amelia mused silently.
With the keys in hand, she approached one of the cages. She could see over a dozen people huddled together inside, all huddled in a corner, too scared to make a sound.
Amelia didn’t say much. She simply tossed the keys into the cage. Their clatter against the floor was crisp and loud.
“Get everyone out.”
She left them with that single sentence. Without waiting for any response from those inside, she turned and left the cage area.
Stepping back out of the domed building, Amelia looked towards where Eileen was and saw her just as the young woman’s sword shattered Eden’s Ice Shield, carving a bloody gash into his chest.
The intense pain made Eden howl as his legs scrambled backward.
But Eileen had no intention of letting this chance slip away. She moved instantly, catching up with him before he could get far.
Her eyes were cold, but her sword was even colder. It swept cleanly through Eden’s neck, sending his head flying into the air.
A beam of moonlight fell upon her as her silver hair danced in the wind, her figure exuding a serene and chilling beauty.
“We need to go, Eileen. Grab his Alchemical Equipment too,” Amelia said, jogging over to her.
Seeing that Amelia was unharmed, Eileen breathed a sigh of relief.
She quickly took the Alchemical Equipment from Eden’s hand, and also grabbed a wad of Kerr that had fallen out of his clothes, before fleeing the place with Amelia.
