In a forest not too far away, the wind blew rapidly, causing the branches and buds of different trees to sway and rub against each other, creating a rustling sound.
Tabitha Elsie was dressed entirely in black clothing and a cloak, concealing herself tightly. Under her hood, a rounded chin was faintly visible, but that was all.
She watched the chaos on the distant road from afar.
‘Amelia was dealt with just like that. Now, with no Divine Bloodline left out in the wild, my objective can be completed. No one else can threaten the Inheritor our side supports.’
‘How ridiculous. There are still people hoping to find a stray Divine Bloodline out there to bring back as an Inheritor. Well, for every single surviving Inheritor out here, as long as I kill them all, they won’t pose a threat to the one I’m supporting.’
Thinking these thoughts silently, a cold smirk appeared beneath Tabitha’s hood.
In any case, since the target was dealt with, she didn’t want to waste any more time. She turned and left directly.
==========
After finishing their ability training, Amelia and Eileen went to take a proper bath.
The person impersonating her would arrive at Bild City before evening. They didn’t know what might happen then, so they needed to maintain their best condition to be ready to handle any situation at any time.
After washing up, Amelia put on a snow-white dress. Her dyed water-blue, slightly wavy long hair cascaded down, adorned with exquisite hair ornaments.
Perhaps because she had just bathed, her skin looked fair with a rosy flush, appearing dewy and supple. Her pair of water-blue eyes were even more gentle and beautiful.
As for Eileen, she donned a black-and-white Maid Outfit, complete with her usual black stockings.
Although she wore this kind of outfit every day, it wasn’t actually the same one—she owned many pieces of the same style and simply rotated them.
[This Rupert really is a bad guy after all.]
[Pfft, this person called Valerie actually does bear a slight resemblance to Amelia. Just a tiny bit, of course. She’s far from being as good-looking as Amelia.]
[Especially the fullness in the chest area—she doesn’t even come close to Amelia.]
[To think we once considered whether Rupert might be a loyal person. The facts prove we were overthinking it; this guy has actually already defected to the Akti Kingdom.]
[As expected, he’s setting a trap to lure Amelia out. Unforgivable.]
Seeing the Bullet Comments suddenly appear before her eyes, Amelia was momentarily stunned.
When she clearly saw the content displayed in the Bullet Comments, Amelia’s expression immediately turned serious.
Were the viewers watching the scene over on Rupert’s side right now?
Back when she first learned that someone was impersonating her and that Rupert had sided with that person, Amelia had, based on the viewers’ analysis, deduced three possibilities.
Among those three, only the second represented a scenario where Rupert was loyal and had been deceived by the impersonator.
In the other two judgments, Rupert was someone with malicious intent.
The Bullet Comments appearing now naturally allowed Amelia to quickly grasp the situation on Rupert’s side. She knew that Rupert’s case matched the third initial judgment.
The impersonator was created by Rupert himself. His goal was to exploit the psychological mindset of the real her wanting to expose a fraud, to trick her into coming over so he could murder her!
‘Knowing Rupert’s true intentions has clarified my thinking on how to act next. He’s an enemy, so there’s absolutely no need for courtesy.’
Amelia thought to herself.
[Such a strong wind! It’s so strong I can barely see the screen clearly.]
[Was that an attack?]
[Is an Elf attacking? After all, only someone who has faith in the Bard’s Bow can control the power of wind, right?]
[That doesn’t make sense. Why would an Elf attack them? Aren’t they supposed to be on the same side?]
[The Three Great Kingdoms made a move against the Steele Kingdom because of the Elves’ secret manipulation. But that matter should be highly confidential. So, very few people should know the Elves played a role in it. Rupert doesn’t seem like someone qualified to know such things, even though he’s a Count.]
[But the Akti Kingdom should know about Rupert having someone impersonate Amelia to lure the real one out, right? Maybe the Akti Kingdom even demanded it? Wouldn’t the Elves know? If the Elves knew, there’d be no reason to attack a fake, right?]
[Maybe the Elves really didn’t know and thought this was the real deal, so they came to kill?]
The Bullet Comments once again erupted in heated discussion because of what happened on Rupert’s side.
Amelia watched the stream of comments, feeling somewhat surprised.
An Elf appeared?
She looked at the Bullet Comments, rapidly analyzed the information within, and absorbed it, understanding the situation over on Rupert’s side.
From the information revealed by the Bullet Comments, it seemed that while some high-ranking Elves had pushed the Three Great Kingdoms to destroy the Steele Kingdom, the Elves themselves weren’t deeply involved with the Three Great Kingdoms. There wasn’t much communication between them. Therefore, the Elves didn’t know about the Akti Kingdom’s plan to have Rupert create a fake Amelia to lure out the real one.
As a result, this plan didn’t attract the real Amelia but instead attracted an Elf.
The Elf was clearly unfamiliar with Amelia. Valerie’s appearance was similar to Amelia’s, and with some deliberate styling, it wasn’t surprising that she was mistaken for the real Amelia and killed.
After killing Valerie, the Elf left.
Rupert didn’t see what the Elf looked like or how many of them came, but the viewers did.
Because at that moment, the screen shifted to the attacking Elf. She was alone.
[Dressed so mysteriously, but doesn’t that figure seem a bit familiar?]
[Tabitha, I recognize you. It’s you, isn’t it? Damn, in the Original Plot, this woman caused Eileen quite a lot of trouble.]
[Tabitha is a Transcendent-Rank Apostle, right? To think a being of that level came specifically looking for Amelia. Fortunately, she got the wrong person.]
[Tabitha doesn’t seem to recognize Amelia. Does she think she killed the real Amelia?]
[She actually thinks her objective is complete… Hmm, I wonder what expression she’ll have when she sees Amelia appear later.]
[Anyway, will the Elf side now think Amelia has been dealt with and stop looking for her from now on?]
[If they contact the Akti Kingdom later, they might find out they killed the wrong person… Well, knowing the prideful Elves, once they think the matter is resolved, why would they bother communicating with the Akti Kingdom anymore?]
[An Inheritor, huh? That plotline is still quite a long way from unfolding, isn’t it? Have the Elves already started all their scheming for this matter?]
[This kind of thing is still a bit far from the plot we’re currently watching.]
The Bullet Comments buzzed with discussion.
In a short amount of time, the information revealed in the Bullet Comments was enormous. Amelia looked thoughtful as she processed it.
She roughly understood Tabitha’s identity, purpose, and something about an Elf Inheritor—information that seemed quite important. However, this matter was currently still distant from her, so it could be set aside for now.
What she needed to concern herself with was the matter with Rupert.
So, given the current situation, what should she do?
==========
Rupert regrouped his forces.
The Elf who came with the violent wind earlier hadn’t killed many people—only the fake Amelia and those guarding the carriage who tried to stop her.
But even though most of the others were still alive, Rupert was left in a state of bewilderment.
What should he do at a time like this?
Continue to Bild City?
But Valerie was already dead. How was he supposed to deal with the people from the Luban Duchy? Say that Her Majesty was unwell and couldn’t meet them?
Furthermore, the powerful experts sent by the Akti Kingdom were all dead, which made Rupert feel extremely unsafe. Although there were still Apostles among the remaining members of the group, the strongest was only a Mid-Rank Apostle. That level of strength could hardly give him a sense of security.
‘Come to think of it, was that Elf who attacked earlier really related to the real Her Majesty? If she was, why didn’t she attack me? If the real Her Majesty knew my purpose, she definitely wouldn’t let me off, right? Could it have been an attack from another faction?’
Rupert pondered.
“Hahaha, how disgraceful! Your plan died before it even really began, didn’t it? How ridiculous.” Just then, a mocking voice came from ahead.
Rupert looked up.
It came from another carriage ahead—one that was holding a prisoner. The rear part of that carriage seemed to have been cracked open by the earlier gale. The person locked inside saw the situation outside through the crack.
Rupert snorted and walked directly over, lifting the carriage’s curtain to enter.
Inside was an old man with white hair and blue eyes, dressed in tattered clothes and bound in Chains. But even as a captive, the old man still held his head high and chest out, maintaining his pride.
“Pah! Traitor!”
Seeing Rupert enter, the old man unceremoniously spat.
Rupert sidestepped to dodge it. Although his combat ability was limited, he was still a Low-Rank Apostle, so naturally, he wouldn’t be hit so easily.
“Harold, if it weren’t for the fact that you’re still of some use, I would have killed you long ago for your attitude,” Rupert snorted coldly.
Harold, like him, had originally been a Count of the Steele Kingdom. But they weren’t from the same generation—Harold had already been a Count before Rupert was born.
Earlier, when he had Valerie publicly declare her identity as Amelia to lure out the real one, the real Amelia hadn’t been drawn in yet, but Harold had been drawn in first instead.
But the real Harold had met Amelia before.
So the moment Harold arrived, he recognized that the “Amelia” in front of him was a fake. But since he had already come, leaving and spreading the news at that point was impossible. He was captured immediately by Rupert. As for Harold’s retinue at the time, they were all slaughtered by Rupert’s men, leaving only Harold alive.
The reason Harold was kept alive was that Rupert knew Harold still had some power behind him. That power needed to either be used for his benefit or eradicated. In any case, he had to extract the information from Harold first through interrogation.
He planned to deal with the people from the Luban Duchy in Bild City first, then properly interrogate Harold. He never expected such an incident to happen along the way, completely disrupting his plan.
“Kill me if you want. I’m old enough and have lived long enough anyway. As long as I can see that you failed to harm Her Majesty, I’m content,” Harold laughed, utterly unconcerned.
“Hmph.”
Rupert couldn’t be bothered to say much to Harold. He had only come over to gag Harold’s mouth so he wouldn’t be an annoyance.
He promptly pulled out a piece of cloth and directly gagged Harold.
==========
Amelia pondered her next move while watching the Bullet Comments.
[It’s Harold! He’s still alive?]
[In the Original Plot, shouldn’t he have died long before this point? Why is he still alive this time?]
[Let me think. In the Original Plot, it seems Harold fell into depression and died after the kingdom was destroyed. And now he’s not dead—could it be because Amelia is still alive?]
[Amelia’s survival gave Harold hope, so his heart didn’t sink into ultimate despair, and thus he survived?]
[What a pity. He’s a person truly loyal to the Steele Kingdom. To think he fell into Rupert’s hands. Even if he survived temporarily, he probably won’t live much longer.]
Seeing the new information in the Bullet Comments, Amelia was startled.
Someone loyal to her?
She hadn’t expected to see such information and immediately began to ponder it in her heart.
Throughout this time, Eileen stood silently by the side, watching Amelia.
She had noticed for a while now that Amelia seemed to be contemplating something, her expression changing frequently. She didn’t disturb her. All she needed to do was protect the person before her eyes.
A long time later, the sky outside had dimmed somewhat.
Amelia finally made her decision. She said in a deep voice, “Eileen, I need to ask you to do something with me next.”
“No matter what it is, as long as Miss Lily commands it, I will definitely accomplish it,” Eileen affirmed.
“Accompany me to kill someone.” Amelia’s voice carried an extra chill.
Through the information in the Bullet Comments, she already knew that the powerful Apostles on Rupert’s side had been killed by Tabitha. The strongest among those remaining was only a Mid-Rank Apostle.
And Eileen was already a High-Rank Apostle.
So she could make a move!
“No matter who it is, there is no problem,” Eileen stated firmly.
“The person impersonating me should be near Bild City by now. Let’s go take care of it,” Amelia said, opening the wardrobe and taking out her bow named “Silver Moon.”
Hearing Amelia’s words, the Bullet Comments immediately became lively again.
[Damn, Amelia is actually going to attack directly? I thought she would wait for Rupert’s group to reach Bild City and observe the situation first.]
[How unexpected. Isn’t Amelia afraid the enemy is too strong?]
[Even though we know Tabitha already killed the strong Apostles on Rupert’s side, Amelia doesn’t know that, right?]
[Maybe Amelia just has great confidence in Eileen. She feels that even if there’s a High-Rank Apostle among the enemy, they won’t be a match for Eileen.]
[Is she not afraid of there being a Transcendent-Rank Apostle among the enemy?]
[What kind of existence do you think a Transcendent-Rank Apostle is? Can one be casually dispatched by a single kingdom? Not unless it’s a power on the level of an Empire or the Elven Court.]
[Has Amelia already confirmed that Rupert is an enemy? Through what?]
[In any case, Amelia must have her reasons for doing this.]
