Chapter 201: The Sickly Miko and the God of Bonds (Part 1) Part 1

“Do you remember Prima? The young girl you said was marked by a ‘Little Hand’?” Wang Yue asked.

“Of course I remember… Do not use the brain capacity of a lower lifeform to measure the infinite expanse of my mind!”

“The ‘Little Hand’ isn’t exclusive to gods, right? Prima can’t hold two different faiths at once.” Unless, of course, she was one of the Faithless.

“The ‘Little Hand’ is a means of transmission, not anyone’s exclusive property. Is the ‘god’ you speak of some secondary deity that requires the power of faith? How pathetic and weak you lower lifeforms must be to treat such things as supreme existences. It is as if a swarm of ants gathered piously around a sugar stain, straining their tongues just to fill their shriveled bellies.”

Wang Yue was left speechless. If Lilith’s arrogance was a mountain, then the arrogance of this beast was an entire planet.

“Fine, I know you’re great. Tell me, what else can the Little Hand connect to?” she asked.

She didn’t stop walking, already reaching the door of the infirmary.

“Since it is a transmission channel, it naturally leads to a ‘vessel’ or the ‘original body’… That the Great Me is actually answering such idiotic questions for a lower lifeform is truly tragic,” the octopus lamented.

Wang Yue decided that regardless of what it led to, she would trace it first.

She stepped into the infirmary and stood before Prima’s bed. Crushing a dried fruit between her fingers, she tilted her head back and squeezed the purple juice into her eyes.

Core of Reversed Orientation.

She blinked, and the Little Hands upon Prima’s body became visible.

Aside from the purple Little Hand representing her demonic faith, there was now a strange, slimy, deep-blue Little Hand.

Following the trail outside, Wang Yue channeled the power of the Demon Realm. A peculiar vehicle began to take shape within the mist.

The Low-Crawler Colin.

Standing before the vehicle was a figure both familiar and strange.

Her white robes were as lustrous as silk, and her crimson hakama was as red as fresh blood. Two intense tones divided the scene in two.

It was Lilith, dressed in the traditional attire of a Miko!

Wang Yue was briefly stunned, but she quickly realized this was the physical manifestation of Lilith’s faith in her. Still, the girl was taking this very seriously.

Suddenly, the feeling of “becoming a god” hit her. Before this, she hadn’t quite realized she had become a deity of such formality.

No wonder White Fish craved believers so desperately.

Wang Yue studied her young Miko believer carefully.

Lilith’s skin was translucent and snowy white. Her shimmering, pale-gold hair reached her waist, tied back with a ribbon that hung long behind her. Her eyes were like rubies, and her lips were as vivid as peach blossoms.

The white upper robe was solemn, wrapped right-over-left with a blood-colored collar peeking through. With red-strapped wooden geta and white socks on her slender feet, she stood with her legs demurely pressed together beneath the vibrant crimson pleats of her hakama.

She looked pure, beautiful, and ethereally clear.

“My Goddess, please enter the carriage,” Lilith said, bowing slightly. Her bangs swayed with the movement, and her voice was sweet and melodic.

Oh… oh my…

Wang Yue’s eyes went vacant as she let out a tiny, shallow breath.

Having her only believer be a Miko at her beck and call felt a bit meager for a god, but considering that Miko was Lilith, it felt incredibly extravagant.

Wang Yue certainly had no objections to this “shrine maiden” aesthetic. Besides, once everything was over, things would eventually go back to normal… right?

What a pity…

She sighed inwardly and climbed into the vehicle.

She placed the octopus bottle on the dashboard, turned the key, and drove the Low-Crawler Colin to track the Little Hand.

As for the octopus that wouldn’t stop complaining, she just treated it like the car radio.

This is the Great Old Ones Broadcasting Station. You are listening to Octopus FM. Bzzzt… (White noise)…

The car was still the car, and the people were still the people, yet the scene had changed entirely.

Neither spoke, as if separated by a glass wall. The atmosphere was delicate and quiet.

The only reason they could cooperate again was because they both wanted to do something for a mutual friend; otherwise, they were like fire and water. The problem was that Lilith, in order to recover her strength, had forcibly tethered her faith to Wang Yue.

It was too complicated.

Wang Yue stole a glance at the girl beside her.

The young Miko sat perfectly upright, her slender hands folded over her red skirt. Her eyes were mournful and deep yet exceptionally bright. Her thin lips and delicate nose were as exquisite as fine porcelain, and her skin was like ice and snow.

Framed by the Miko attire, Lilith’s image seemed even more serene and otherworldly.

Is… is this really Lilith?

Wang Yue could hardly believe it.

As if sensing her gaze, Lilith turned her head and reminded her with a smile, “My Goddess, please keep your eyes on the road.”
