“Classmate Wang Yue is back!”
“Really? Didn’t she go out to investigate?”
“She’s definitely back, she’s already heading up to the second floor!”
“Are there any results?”
“I don’t know, let’s hear what she has to say.”
“What if… sigh.”
“It won’t be bad news. Classmate Wang Yue is amazing. If it’s her, she’ll definitely be able to…”
“Ah, Lilith is behind her. She must have gone along with the investigation.”
“No wonder I haven’t seen her for a few days. I thought she’d run away. Hmph.”
“That wicked Lilith. This is all her fault. If this girl hadn’t lied and tried to show off, Prima wouldn’t have ended up like this.”
“Why did she go too? To atone for her sins?”
“She probably doesn’t care. She used to bully Prima all the time; she wouldn’t feel guilty at all.”
“I’m so worried. She followed Wang Yue this time—what if she caused more trouble? She’s going to ruin everything.”
“Exactly. She even betrayed Wang Yue during the Class Competition. Is that something a normal person would do?”
“No one likes her, yet she still clings to the school and won’t leave. How shameless.”
…
The students of Class Five stood at their dormitory doors, whispering in low voices. Their eyes were fixed on the corridor, filled with both anticipation and intense worry, terrified of hearing bad news or seeing a sorrowful expression.
As Wang Yue walked up to the second floor, the young witches secretly observed her face, trying to find any clue. Their nerves were stretched to the breaking point.
At the same time, all sorts of accusations drifted into Lilith’s ears. It wasn’t just a stray comment or two; everyone was talking, pointing fingers, and casting looks of pure loathing.
The students’ pent-up emotions had reached an intolerable peak.
Lilith kept her head low, scurrying along like a rat crossing the street. Her face burned with heat, and she felt utterly lost and panicked.
It turned out she had done so many hateful things in the past. It wasn’t out of spite, and there was no real reason for it; she had simply wanted to bully others.
In the past, she would have reacted with anger and disdain. But now, even though there was no longer a place for her in this school, she still stubbornly refused to leave.
Lilith had a strong premonition that once she left, it would be difficult to ever see Wang Yue again. If the threads of their fates were to drift apart, the regret would be enough to tear her heart asunder.
Enduring the piercing words and needle-like stares, she moved with stiff steps, like a prisoner heading toward the gallows—shackled and caged, watched and cursed by a crowd lining the path.
Suddenly, someone gripped her shoulder firmly!
Wang Yue stopped and looked around at the crowd, her brow furrowing.
“Who says no one likes Lilith? I like Lilith.”
The young witches gaped, stunned into silence.
Wang Yue paused, then added, “Just as I like all of you.”
The young witches were confused at first, but then they caught on. A flurry of hushed chatter broke out, and the way they looked at the young black-haired girl became even more worshipful.
“What a clever answer!”
“Brilliant!”
“With just a turn of phrase, she clarified the line between love and friendship. She protected Lilith while still being mindful of Medeili’s feelings. How gentle.”
“Eh? Is that it? I thought Classmate Wang Yue wanted to start a harem… sniffle… I got excited for nothing…”
“Hey! What do you take Classmate Wang Yue for?!”
…
Lilith was trembling all over. Her emotions felt as if they had been set ablaze. Her heart was overflowing with a joy she couldn’t shape into words, yet she struggled to suppress the tears that were about to spill over. Slowly and stiffly, she leaned into Wang Yue’s embrace, wrapping her arms tightly around her waist. She pressed close, letting every bit of her trembling transfer to the other girl. She buried her face against the crook of Wang Yue’s snowy neck, nuzzling gently and secretly kissing the hollow of her shoulder. Even if she had to die for this person right now, she would do so willingly.
Once rivals, now they leaned neck to neck.
Lilith leaned into Wang Yue’s ear and said in a low, husky voice:
“I’m yours… do you want me? Whatever you want, just take it. I’ll give you everything… Can you feel my heart beating? You can carve it out, you know. I’ll put it in a box and give it to you… Are my eyes pretty? If you want them, I’ll put them in a little jar for you… Please, just take something from me! Otherwise… I feel so miserable…”
Feeling Lilith’s warmth and her shivers, like a sparrow drenched in a storm, and hearing her tearful pleas, Wang Yue realized with a start that her subconscious action had inadvertently pried open the heart of this little wild beast.
This wasn’t like the night before they left—that forced self-destruction. This was a sense of belonging that came from the heart.
By giving her just a tiny bit of love, she had caused this starved, wild girl to choke on her own breath, nearly pushing her to a breakdown. This sudden turn of events made Wang Yue feel a bit flustered and uncertain.
Without having done much of anything, she had received something incredibly precious.
Wang Yue didn’t get smug or let it go to her head, nor did she take this gift of fate for granted. Instead, she very cherishedly stroked Lilith’s hair, feeling her obedience and the total surrender of her body and soul.
From now on, Lilith was no longer a wild young girl. She was her young girl—tamed, belonging only to her, needing only her…
However, listening to Lilith’s pleas, some strange ideas began to bubble up in Wang Yue’s mind.
Suddenly… she really wanted to scratch the girl’s little belly.
When a cat is tamed, it retracts its claws, stretches out its body, and exposes its soft belly for scratches. Lilith was…
Wang Yue kept her face strictly composed, though her expression was odd. In her imagination, Lilith would approach her proactively, pinching the hem of her shirt and slowly lifting it to reveal a flat, tight little stomach. On that dazzlingly white skin sat the small indent of a navel. The fingers holding the cloth would be trembling slightly, her beautiful burgundy eyes shimmering with tears, and her cheeks flushed with a mix of shame, anger, or perhaps desire. Her lips would mumble, “H-Hurry up…”
The mental image was far too beautiful.
But now was not the time.
Wang Yue squeezed Lilith’s slender shoulder as a reminder. “We still have things to do.”
“Mhm.”
Lilith obediently stepped out of her embrace, following half a step behind her. It was as if her eyes saw only Wang Yue; she was utterly indifferent to everything else.
In front of Room 204, Mapeel’s gaze remained fixed on the floor. She didn’t dare look at Wang Yue’s face; if she saw an expression of regret, her heart would collapse.
Suddenly, a pair of pretty little boots appeared in her field of vision.
The young black-haired girl leaned down, picked up a wooden basin, and pressed it into her hands. Her voice was firm and proud.
“We succeeded, Sister Mapeel.”
Mapeel held her breath for a moment; even her heart seemed to stop. She lifted her eyes and stared blankly at Wang Yue. In her eyes, the black-haired girl’s face was holy, her silhouette radiating light like a descending goddess.
Upon hearing those words, a burst of cheering erupted in the corridor. The students of Class Five clapped with all their might; some were screaming, others were shaking with clenched fists. The gloom that had hung over their hearts vanished instantly, like clouds parting after a storm, replaced by bright, relieved smiles.
Wang Yue signaled for them to be quiet, gave Mapeel a few instructions, and walked into the dormitory alone.
After a few days of being moved back to the dorm for care, the disabled girl, Prima, had become shriveled due to dehydration. Her lips were curled with white cracks, her cheeks were sunken, and her chin was as sharp as a leftover date pit.
She couldn’t wait any longer.
Wang Yue sat down by the bed and told Mapeel to hang a notice on the door, telling people not to crowd around or disturb them.
At that moment, the little maid walked in from outside, poured her a cup of tea, and reported on the school’s situation over the past few days.
“How has Pandora been performing? I told you to keep an eye on her,” Wang Yue asked.
After leaving, she hadn’t been able to use the crows to monitor Pandora, so she had asked the little maid to watch the junior student.
“She’s been performing quite well,” the little maid said affirmatively.
Wang Yue looked up, staring at Dorothy for a moment. She asked suspiciously, “You seem to have gotten fatter?”
The pink-haired girl was startled. She looked away guiltily and replied, “I’ve always been fat.”
“Come here.”
Wang Yue hooked her finger.
Dorothy hovered over reluctantly.
Gulp…
Her soft, rosy lips were pinched until they puckered. Her eyes grew increasingly terrified, like a little hen whose neck was being held while waiting for slaughter.
Wang Yue leaned in, sniffed carefully, narrowed her eyes, and said coldly, “The scent of sunlight.”
The pink-haired girl immediately began to shiver, her small face crumpling. Because her mouth was being pinched, her words came out garbled.
“L-Let me explain… Master… I…”
“You’re fired, Dorothy.” Wang Yue let go and sighed.
