The next morning.
Luo Yin woke from a deep sleep.
They had gone at it for quite a while the night before, so he had slept in late.
This time, he had deliberately released all of his spiritual power and drifted off to sleep with Liu Qingchan securely in his arms.
As he opened his bleary eyes, Luo Yin heard a soft rustling from within the bedding.
Liu Qingchan was no longer nestled against him.
He lifted the quilt.
Liu Qingchan raised her head and flashed him a sweet smile before lowering it again.
A pleased grin spread across Luo Yin’s face. He reached out to gently stroke Liu Qingchan’s silky hair and said softly, “Tired? Why don’t you get some proper rest?”
“I’m not tired at all. I’m no mortal—my stamina is overflowing. I’m heading into the Ancestral Land this afternoon, and I want Senior Brother to have me etched firmly in his memory.”
With that, Liu Qingchan lifted her head once more and met Luo Yin’s gaze, her eyes carrying a hint of playful challenge. “Senior Brother, you’re not worn out already, are you? Tapped out?”
Her words lit a fire under him. Luo Yin bolted upright with a whoosh and pulled Liu Qingchan into his embrace. “You doubting me?”
Liu Qingchan let out a soft huff. “If you’ve got what it takes, prove it and make me eat my words!”
“Alright then! Time to show you what I’m capable of!” Luo Yin laughed. “Junior Sister, your Senior Brother here’s just a rough-around-the-edges guy who doesn’t know his own strength. Bear with me, won’t you?”
Liu Qingchan blinked in momentary confusion before the meaning dawned on her. Her delicate face instantly turned crimson.
She gave a slight nod. “Qingchan will certainly bear with you~”
…
The pair tangled for nearly another hour before Liu Qingchan finally left Luo Yin’s residence with obvious reluctance.
Once she was gone, Luo Yin pushed open the door and stepped into the courtyard.
There sat Ling Qingxue and Ling’er. The moment he emerged, both women turned to him, their expressions starkly different.
Ling Qingxue’s gaze held a mix of mockery and irritation.
Ling’er’s was one of pure grievance.
“You two were going at it for ages. Aren’t you exhausted? Elder Sun came looking for you several times, but you wouldn’t even see him.”
Ling Qingxue remarked airily.
She had arrived early that morning, expecting Luo Yin to rise with the sun. Instead, Ling’er had informed her that he had been “busy” all night.
So Ling Qingxue had passed the time chatting idly with Ling’er in the courtyard while waiting for him to wake. After a long delay, the sounds coming from his room had left them both flushed and embarrassed.
Luo Yin shot her a glare. “Don’t you know what I’m capable of? Quit looking at me like that. Liu Qingchan’s your… sister. I get that you’re jealous, but since when do you get a say in our mutual affection? Keep nagging, and I’ll claim you tonight!”
Ling Qingxue’s neck shrank back at his words, and she quickly turned her head away.
Ling’er, meanwhile, gazed at Luo Yin with eager anticipation. “Y-Young Master… why don’t you claim Ling’er instead?”
Luo Yin’s mouth twitched.
Truth be told, he didn’t dare lay a hand on Ling’er just yet. What if her memories resurfaced and she turned out to be some twisted female demon lord?
He needed to at least raise her favorability high enough to fully conquer her first.
And most crucially, the girl was just too young.
“I’ve told you a dozen times—you’re too small.”
Luo Yin waved her off.
Ling’er murmured a soft “Oh” and glanced down at her own chest. Then she peeked at Ling Qingxue and suddenly felt like life had lost all meaning…
“What did Elder Sun want with me?”
Sun Yangming’s seclusion had lasted quite a while, so his strength had no doubt seen major gains.
“He promised you a Heaven-Human Level treasure sword after emerging from seclusion. He came to ask what kind you wanted. When you wouldn’t come out after several visits, he stopped asking and just picked whatever type he could find.”
Ling Qingxue explained, turning her head back toward him.
Luo Yin nodded, unconcerned.
His Meteor Jade Sword suited him just fine for now.
“Never mind Elder Sun for the moment. I might go into seclusion for a stretch, so today I’m planning to fix up this rundown shack of mine first. Otherwise, Ling’er has nowhere proper to stay.”
Luo Yin waved his hand dismissively.
He had been mulling this over for a while but simply hadn’t found the time.
“Qingxue, take Ling’er and get some furnishings for her room.”
Luo Yin instructed.
Ling Qingxue nodded slightly without protest.
“Big Sister Qingxue.”
Once they had left Luo Yin behind, Ling’er called out softly to Ling Qingxue.
Ling Qingxue turned to her. “What is it?”
Ling’er’s cheeks colored as she bit her lip, hesitating for a moment before whispering, “How did yours get so big? Why can’t mine?”
The question caught even Ling Qingxue off guard, turning her own face a deep shade of red.
How had they grown? She had no idea.
She had never given it much thought before, but Ling’er’s words made it seem strangely unfair.
No wonder Luo Yin was always eyeing her with that lecherous stare.
“I don’t know. I’ve never paid it any mind. Hey, you’re still young—don’t stress over it. It’ll change when you grow up.”
“But… what if it doesn’t? I’m scared Young Master will lose interest because I’m too small.”
Ling’er said, her voice thick with grievance.
“How could he? He’s not the type. Relax.”
Ling Qingxue reassured her, even as a flicker of doubt stirred in her own mind.
Why had Luo Yin bought Ling’er in the first place?
After the purchase, he hadn’t treated her like a servant at all—more like a little sister!
Was it really just to rescue her from that awful place?
Was he really that benevolent?
“Big Sister Qingxue, do all men prefer bigger girls?”
Ling’er posed yet another profound question.
Once again, Ling Qingxue was stumped.
…
Luo Yin spent the entire afternoon rebuilding his residence.
As no mere mortal, he made quick work of it. It wasn’t some opulent palace anyway—just a simple two-story wooden pavilion.
Upstairs, he built several rooms: one for Ling’er, one for himself right next to hers, and a few spares.
That night, Luo Yin dripped the Nebula Myriad Things Water onto the Kunpeng Egg.
The liquid merged seamlessly into it, absorbed without a trace.
All that remained was to wait half a month, and Kun Kun would likely hatch.
With a Kunpeng by his side, the future would be far more convenient.
After returning the Kunpeng Egg to the System space for further nurturing, Luo Yin slipped into the bed that Ling’er had warmed for him.
No cultivation tonight—he would get a solid night’s sleep before beginning his seclusion tomorrow.
Just as sleep began to claim him, the door creaked open.
Luo Yin glanced over, expecting Ling’er. To his surprise, it was Ling Qingxue!
What was she doing sneaking into his room in the dead of night instead of sleeping in her own?
She moved so furtively, like a woman off to steal a lover.
“Luo Yin, I want to talk.”
Ling Qingxue said softly, her lips pursed.
With Ling’er around all day, there had been many things she couldn’t bring up.
Luo Yin sat up in bed with a smile and patted the edge of the mattress. “Sure, about what? Come sit—I’m all ears.”
