Noah Academy was an aristocratic school filled with young masters and young ladies.
The school featured European-style architecture with spired red brick buildings, luxurious and solemn. Tall red sequoia woods filled the campus, along with fountains, sculptures, and ponds—it resembled a lavish manor more than a school.
The passing students exuded elegant temperaments, dressed in wine-red uniform jackets, their postures upright and graceful.
It was hard to imagine they were all students.
Shen Ke wore a black pleated skirt that reached her thighs, paired with over-the-knee black stockings and high-heeled black loafers. Her footsteps clicked clack click along the road.
She had long straight black hair with bangs, translucent snow-white skin, and a pair of large, crystal-clear beautiful eyes. Her eye corners slanted slightly upward, her red lips full—pure to the extreme.
She hugged her arms, with four people following behind her, positioned on either side of Shen Ke. She strutted arrogantly like a king inspecting her territory.
Suddenly, Shen Ke stopped, opened her mouth, and said, “I want water.” The one holding the water hurried forward and held the straw to Shen Ke’s lips. “Sister Keke, please drink.”
Shen Ke lowered her long lashes, parted her lips slightly, took the straw in her mouth, and sipped gently. She nodded, then waved her hand. “That’s enough.”
The one holding the milk tea immediately retreated to her position and stared blankly at the straw. So cute.
Shen Ke’s entourage was quite impressive. Wherever she passed, people bowed their heads and made way for her.
In Shen Ke’s view, these people were definitely afraid of her.
Shen Ke scoffed, revealing a smug smile with her sharp little tiger teeth, adorable as could be.
She said to the four behind her, “See that? That’s my intimidating presence—no one dares not fear me!” Her tone was arrogantly extreme.
The four hurriedly agreed. “Yes, yes, Sister Keke is the strongest.”
Shen Ke was satisfied. She turned her head and continued, “Serve as my little followers well, do things for me, and I won’t treat you poorly.” Her demeanor was coquettishly charming, and the four stared entranced, completely missing the figure standing to the side ahead.
Shen Ke, with her head turned, didn’t notice either and bumped straight into her.
“Ah!”
The impact hurt Shen Ke, and she cried out. She clutched her nose and glared fiercely at the blind person before her. “Are you blind? Didn’t you see me?” After roaring, Shen Ke noticed that the person in front of her was very tall—she only reached his shoulder.
A white brooch—a special admission student with no background.
Shen Ke raised her head. Her skin was thin and tender, so after the bump, her nose tip reddened, her eye corners reddened, and a bit of moist tears welled in her eyes. Looking up like this, she appeared pitiful.
Qi Yuan lowered her head and met Shen Ke’s gaze, frowning. “You clearly weren’t watching the road yourself.”
Shen Ke was stunned for a moment. She hadn’t expected a special admission student to talk back to her.
Shen Ke puffed out her chest and pointed to the two brooches on her jacket. “Commoner, see this? I’m an affiliate of a black brooch holder.”
“Can you afford to mess with me? Apologize right now!”
Qi Yuan stared at the two brooches—one white, one black.
Qi Yuan narrowed her eyes. Noah Academy had a strict hierarchy, distinguished from high to low by gem brooches of different colors.
Black, red, purple, yellow, white.
Only four people in the entire school possessed black gem brooches.
White gem brooches represented commoner-class special admission students.
Wearing two brooches indicated the lower rank was an affiliate of the higher one.
Though she was busy with classes every day, she knew how immense the power of those top four was.
Their personalities were each uniquely eccentric.
Qi Yuan said, “Oh, sorry.” She really couldn’t afford to provoke her—she was just a kid from the mountains with no background.
Tuition and fees were fully covered here, and if one excelled enough, they could even get a guaranteed recommendation.
So, she tried not to provoke anyone she couldn’t afford to.
Qi Yuan always had a clear sense of her own limits. She couldn’t afford to mess with anyone at this school.
The apology came too quickly, but Shen Ke still felt something off. She raised her head and scrutinized the person carefully.
Thick brows, big eyes, straight black lashes, deep double-eyelid folds, straight high nose bridge, clear gaze, chin-length short messy hair seemingly tied in a small tuft at the back with lots of stray strands hanging on the sides.
Her lips were moderately thin and thick, looking very sensual. Her wheat-colored skin complemented her tall frame—a rare upright appearance.
But it clashed with this aristocratic school.
The young masters and ladies here mostly had delicate, refined features, forged by piles of money into nobility.
Shen Ke pursed her lips. “I don’t accept!”
Qi Yuan lowered her gaze, watching Shen Ke. A flash of cold intent passed through her dark eyes, but it was too quick for anyone to notice.
Qi Yuan said again, “Sorry.” With that, Qi Yuan turned to walk away.
But the next second, her wrist was grabbed. Qi Yuan’s gaze sharpened. She yanked back, pulling Shen Ke in front of her.
However, she hadn’t expected the person before her to be so light. With one pull, she tumbled straight into Qi Yuan’s arms.
A rich sweet fragrance assaulted her nose without warning. Qi Yuan pursed her lips, pressed Shen Ke’s shoulders, and pushed her away. Her expression turned cold. “I already said sorry.”
Shen Ke’s nose took a second hit, and this time her lip got knocked too. It hurt so much tears instantly overflowed.
Shen Ke was furious. She raised her head high, lifted her palm, and swung toward Qi Yuan’s cheek.
But Qi Yuan swiftly grabbed her wrist, stopping her.
Qi Yuan gripped hard and flung Shen Ke away. “Sorry, I need to go to class.” This time, Qi Yuan turned and ran, giving Shen Ke no time to react.
Shen Ke clutched her reddened wrist, seething. What was wrong with that person? Her palm was rough and hard—it chafed her wrist painfully.
“Sister Keke, are you okay?” Someone came over to comfort her then.
Shen Ke glared at the person and slapped her across the face.
She straightened up, wiped her tears with a tissue, and pointed at the four one by one. “You, you, you—and you. All of you, get lost!!!”
“Sister Keke, I—”
Shen Ke snorted coldly. “Don’t make me say it twice! Scram, you bunch of idiots!” With that, Shen Ke hugged her arms and turned away. Her long hair swayed with the motion, her fitted uniform clinging tightly to her slender waist. As she walked, her skirt hem swayed, her fair thigh flesh trembling slightly, the bit of thigh between the black skirt and stockings especially erotic.
Slim waist, long legs, perky butt—even her back view bewitched the heart.
Only after Shen Ke’s figure vanished did the four start blaming each other.
“What did you do! Why didn’t you stop it!”
“Come on, don’t pretend you weren’t entranced by the sight of her being pinned down—that was hot, right?”
“Annoying! You even got slapped! I’m so jealous!”
“Little Qingqing, why didn’t your little follower come today?”
Leigh propped one hand on the piano edge and twirled her golden hair with the other, saying playfully, “I heard your little follower bullied someone again.”
“Aren’t you going to do anything about it? She’s been doing bad things in your name.”
The elegant piano melody in the air abruptly stopped. Si Qing lifted her eyelids, her light-colored pupils reflecting Leigh’s face. “You seem to like her a lot?”
“You can take her if you want.”
Leigh laughed, her emerald eyes rippling with faint amusement.
She walked to the window and looked at the blue sky outside. “Qingqing, you’re really heartless.”
“But I don’t want her either. I’m not so desperate as to want a driver’s daughter—especially yours.”
Speak of the devil and she shall appear—a knock sounded at the door. The display screen on the door showed Shen Ke’s face.
Leigh let out a whoa. “Is this what they call ‘speak of Cao Cao and Cao Cao arrives’ in Z Country?”
Si Qing ignored her and continued playing the piano.
Leigh tsked twice and sauntered to the door, opening it for Shen Ke.
Shen Ke’s gaze was timid and shy, completely different from how she acted around others.
Leigh smiled, her golden hair and green eyes making her features stunning like an angel. “Oh, Little Ke is here.”
Shen Ke pursed her lips. “Miss Leigh, hello.”
“I’m looking for my miss.”
Leigh stepped aside, gesturing for Shen Ke to enter.
Shen Ke clenched her fingers, lowered her lashes slightly, and walked lightly to Si Qing’s back.
She called softly, “Miss.”
Si Qing’s fingers on the keys paused slightly. The piano note broke, turning discordant.
The harsh piano sound lingered long, shifting from shrill to calm before fading.
Si Qing stood up, her back to Shen Ke. “I told you not to interrupt my playing.” She left the chair, turned, and looked down at Shen Ke.
Shen Ke clasped her hands together and hung her head, saying softly, “Sorry, miss.”
“But I got bullied today.” Shen Ke raised her head, parted her lips slightly, and pointed to her upper lip. “Here, it got bumped. It hurts a lot.”
Si Qing glanced over and indeed saw the lip color there was darker—blood had crusted on it.
“Madam said if I get bullied, I should come to you.”
Leigh walked behind Shen Ke, picked up a lock of her long hair, and toyed with it. “Keke, who bullied you? I can help you, okay?”
Si Qing’s light eyes brushed past the wicked smile on Leigh’s lips, then landed on Shen Ke’s face. She frowned slightly, disgust flashing in her eyes. “Shen Ke, it’s just a split lip. No need.” When would Shen Ke stop bothering her over such trivial things?
Shen Ke clenched her fingers tightly and forced a smile. “Okay, I made a big deal out of nothing.”
Leigh placed Shen Ke’s hair against her lips and kissed it gently. “Keke, I can help you too. Just get me some snacks from the supermarket.”
Shen Ke’s eyes lit up. She sneaked a glance at Si Qing, whose face remained cold and unreadable.
So Shen Ke turned around. The hair in Leigh’s hand slipped away with the motion, leaving a faint itch.
Shen Ke showed a small smile. “What do you want? I’ll go buy it.”
Leigh pulled out her phone. “Keke, add me as a friend. I’ll send it to you.”
Shen Ke nodded, added her, and hurried toward the door, saying as she went, “Miss Leigh, send it to me. I’ll go right now.”
Shen Ke completely missed Leigh’s meaningful smile.
Si Qing’s pale lips parted slightly, mockingly. “Such bad taste.”
Leigh held her phone to her lips. “I just think it’ll be fun.”
Shen Ke walked along the road and pulled out her phone, intending to call her lackeys for help. But she remembered she’d just deleted the four of them—now she had no one in her phone who obeyed her.
At the supermarket, Shen Ke received the list from Leigh.
Looking at the long string of items, Shen Ke’s face turned green. So much—how could she carry it all back!
Leigh even sent a message: Darling, don’t miss a single one. I really want to eat them all~ (heart)
Shen Ke stomped her foot and looked at the passing students—some wore purple gem brooches. She couldn’t afford to mess with them.
Shen Ke puffed her cheeks and bought all the snacks on the list.
She reached out and lifted the bag. It was heavy, but she could manage. Gritting her teeth, she staggered with the big bag back to the lounge.
Fortunately, it wasn’t far. Ten-odd minutes later, Shen Ke returned to the door with the bag and knocked.
The door opened. Shen Ke, face flushed, carried the plastic bag inside and said to Leigh, “I got everything. You can check—I bought it all right.”
Leigh took the bag and casually placed it on the ground. She sat on the sofa, propped her head up, and smiled brightly. “That person is called Qi Yuan, a student in Grade 2 Class A. She’s 185 cm tall and lives in Union Stream Little River Village, Union Stream Town, K City. Her family has only one mama, but mama has already remarried.”
“Darling, this is the basic information.”
Shen Ke blinked. “But didn’t you say you’d help me?”
Leigh’s smile didn’t change. “Yeah, I helped you. I helped you find out who it is.”
Shen Ke’s breathing paused as she instantly realized she had been played. She turned her head to look at the expressionless Si Qing, a huge wave of grievance surging in her heart. “Miss Leigh, you clearly said—you said you’d help me.”
Leigh stood up, walked over to Shen Ke, and stretched out her finger to point at Shen Ke’s lips. “Shh! Don’t say it, or I’ll be unhappy.”
The distance was too close—so close that Shen Ke could clearly see the malice in those emerald green eyes.
Shen Ke’s heart tightened. Her big eyes welled up with tears, but she just turned her head and wiped away the tears about to spill with the back of her hand. “S-Sorry, Miss Leigh.”
Then she looked at Si Qing. “Miss, I’m leaving.”
Si Qing turned her back and began looking at the sheet music. Leigh was truly bored to death.
Leigh’s gaze fell on Shen Ke’s hands. She saw it—Shen Ke’s palms were covered in red marks from the bindings.
Shen Ke didn’t get a response, but Si Qing never cared about her anyway. She was going to call home and complain to madam!
Shen Ke thought viciously to herself, then walked out of the room.
Leigh didn’t stop her. She touched her chin. “Little Qingqing, your family’s Little Follower sure knows how to put on an act.”
“She’s always like a pure and harmless little cat in front of us.”
Si Qing coughed lightly a few times. Her body wasn’t good, and catching colds or fevers was routine for her.
After calming her breathing, Si Qing said, “Leigh, if you want her, you can give her your brooch. That way, she won’t have to bother me anymore.”
Leigh’s eyes filled with pity. “Little Qingqing, you’re so pitiful. But I don’t want to be disturbed either. Teasing her occasionally is just fine.”
“I’ve been reading novels lately, Qingqing. Do you know? People with our level of supreme power always end up attracted to a resilient, unyielding little white flower who looks down on stinky money.” As she spoke, Leigh cupped her face. “I’m really looking forward to the little white flower.”
“It’s fun just thinking about it. Little Qingqing, do you think there’ll be one?”
“Or do you like Keke-type little schemers who are two-faced? She kicks and punches others. Really scary.”
Si Qing didn’t comment on this. After all, someone as erratic as Leigh could carry on a conversation by herself.
