Shen Ke smelled the faint lily scent coming from Lu Yanbai once again.

It was very fresh and pleasant.

Shen Ke and Lu Yanbai didn’t exchange much, but she felt Lu Yanbai was a very nice person.

She was pretty, loved to smile, and seemed to have a good temper.

Leigh followed behind and closed the door. She stared at the hand Lu Yanbai had wrapped around Shen Ke, her expression gloomy and somewhat terrifying.

Shen Ke glanced at Leigh’s face, which wore pure concern. But in her mind, the image of Leigh smiling while stabbing a knife into someone’s palm that day always surfaced.

Leigh’s heart pounded. The way Shen Ke treated her was worlds apart from how she treated Lu Yanbai.

Leigh’s smile faltered a bit. She was furious—at Si Qing for screwing her over by bringing Shen Ke there and letting her see her dark side.

Otherwise, Shen Ke never would have rejected her like this!

Leigh furrowed her brows. Her pair of clear, emerald-green eyes filled with grievance, as if even her brilliant golden hair had dimmed. She handed the roses in her hand to Shen Ke and said sadly, “Keke Baby, please don’t hate me like that. That day was because that person bullied me.”

“She… she tried to drug me! She was so evil, so I punished her.”

“Darling, I’m telling the truth. If it’s a lie, may lightning strike me dead!”

In her heart, Leigh thought silently that it didn’t matter anyway—she wasn’t from Z Country, so the thunder god wouldn’t care about her.

She fluttered her long lashes and stared unblinkingly at Shen Ke. Her deep, three-dimensional features were extremely striking. Any expression she made delivered a powerful visual impact, making people unable to help but believe her words.

Lu Yanbai raised a brow. She hadn’t realized this foreigner was so good at talking.

Shen Ke frowned. “But you still made me carry stuff for you. It was so heavy, I carried it all the way, and in the end, you tricked me.”

She only had this much on her right now. Later, she could get Keke a supplementary card so she could spend freely from her accounts.

“If you don’t like me, just hit me. I’ll never get mad at you.”

Shen Ke stretched out her long leg and kicked Leigh lightly. She huffed. “Go put them in the vase on the balcony.” She was the best at pushing her luck—give her an inch, and she’d take a mile.

That light kick on her calf sent ripples through Leigh’s heart. Joy flooded her eyes. She took the roses and said solemnly, “Baby, I’ll go do it right now!” With that, Leigh turned and headed to the balcony.

Shen Ke breathed a slight sigh of relief. It seemed Leigh was telling the truth. She hadn’t gotten mad at all despite how she’d treated her.

Shen Ke felt a bit happy. In that case, she didn’t have to be afraid of Leigh anymore. Leigh looked as obedient as a dog right now.

Shen Ke wasn’t the type to hide her emotions. Her happiness showed on her face—lashes curving, lips quirking up, her two little tiger teeth sharp and sweet.

Lu Yanbai hadn’t interjected until now.

She took in Shen Ke’s smile and said slowly, “Shen Ke, did you run into someone named Chi Wan in the cafeteria today by any chance?”

Shen Ke thought for a moment. She seemed to recall Si Qing calling out to that ice-block-faced Chi Wan. So she nodded. “You mean the tall one with the stinky face, like everyone owes her millions—dead-fish eyes?”

Hearing Shen Ke’s description, Lu Yanbai’s smile widened a bit. She nodded lightly in agreement. “Yes, that’s her.” It was the first time she’d heard someone call Chi Wan a dead-fish face.

Others called Chi Wan an ice mountain beauty, an untouchable flower—cold in a charming way.

This description was awkward yet hilarious. Though her own wasn’t much better.

Shen Ke tugged at her clothes, her expression sour. “She’s so annoying.”

“Not only did she grab me without reason, she even spanked me. Super annoying anyway.”

Shen Ke raised her wrist and held it under Lu Yanbai’s eyes. “Look, it’s all bruised!”

There were indeed faint bruises from fingers on her slender wrist. Lu Yanbai put on an appropriately surprised expression. “Chi Wan is too much. How could she do that?”

Shen Ke bit her lower lip and lowered her lashes. “Exactly! She’s just awful!”

Seeing Shen Ke lower her gaze like that, Lu Yanbai’s heart suddenly skipped. It was a strong palpitation.

Shen Ke looked at Leigh and thought for a moment. They were in a peaceful phase now, and Leigh had given her fifty million. A hug was fine.

Before she finished, Leigh hugged her tightly.

Leigh took a deep breath. It was fine—she’d made huge progress today.

Keke Baby was so easy to coax.

In the room, Shen Ke’s expression changed instantly. She glared viciously at Lu Yanbai. “You saw?”

Lu Yanbai hummed, her gaze sweeping over those red lips. “You mean the kissing?”

“I don’t mind.”

Shen Ke snorted coldly. “You deliberately brought it up, and now you say you don’t mind.”

Lu Yanbai narrowed her eyes slightly. She hadn’t known about Shen Ke kissing someone in the woods. She’d only lightly investigated her whereabouts that day. But from the first glance at Shen Ke, she’d noticed those lips.

So she’d bluffed a little, and it turned out to be true.

Lu Yanbai drew close to Shen Ke and gently pressed a finger to her lips. “Shen Ke, I don’t mind if you kiss others. What I want to ask is… can we try it?”

“Of course, you can refuse. It’s just a suggestion.”

Lu Yanbai spoke gently, her smile alluring, her fox eyes like hooks.

Lu Yanbai’s words carried a bit of flattery. A hint of pride appeared on Shen Ke’s face. “Then you definitely found the right person. My kissing skills are top-notch!” Otherwise, why would Qi Yuan always be so obsessed with her lips and tongue? If she weren’t good, Qi Yuan wouldn’t keep asking for it.

Lu Yanbai twirled Shen Ke’s long hair around her finger, gazing into her eyes. She chuckled lowly. “So, do you agree?”

Shen Ke didn’t think too long before nodding in agreement. Lu Yanbai was so pretty that accepting a kiss wasn’t out of the question—but not today.

Shen Ke puffed out her cheeks. “It’ll have to wait a few days. My mouth hurts, and my tongue is all numb.”

Lu Yanbai lowered her eyes, her fingers brushing over Shen Ke’s cheek as she leaned close to her ear and whispered softly: “Mm, I’ll wait for you… wait for you to make me—go weak.”

Now Shen Ke’s face flushed bright red, her ears turning pink too. She looked just like a plump, juicy peach, ready to burst with sweetness at the slightest bite.

Lu Yanbai pinched Shen Ke’s reddened earlobe, her tone thick with teasing: “You gave Leigh a kiss on the cheek. Doesn’t that mean I get one too?”

“I don’t want to be treated any differently.”

Shen Ke’s eyes grew misty as she gazed up at Lu Yanbai, who was only half a head taller than her. Her heart pounded fiercely.

Lu Yanbai didn’t have Qi Yuan’s towering build or Chi Wan’s overwhelming aura, but for some inexplicable reason, Shen Ke felt her legs go weak. The air around her seemed to thin, binding her arms and legs and leaving her unable to move.

Shen Ke’s voice softened. “Lower your head.” She dragged out the last syllable, making it sound soft and mushy.

Lu Yanbai obeyed, tilting her head slightly and even turning her cheek toward Shen Ke.

Shen Ke clenched her fingers, then leaned forward and planted a gentle kiss on Lu Yanbai’s cheek.

Soft and fragrant.

Lu Yanbai chuckled, straightened up, and reached out to pat Shen Ke’s head. “So cute. That’s enough for today—I’m heading out first.”

Lu Yanbai didn’t leave any contact information. Finding Shen Ke again would be all too easy for her.
