Especially Shen Ke, with her long, straight black hair and neat bangs. She wore a fitted shirt that accentuated her waist, and beneath her black pleated skirt were a pair of slender legs encased in black stockings—slim but not scrawny.
Her high-heeled shoes clicked against the floor, as if proclaiming to everyone, ‘I’m here, come look at me!’
With black hair and red lips, her snow-white skin created a stark contrast that delivered a powerful visual impact. It should have been glamorous, but her beautiful cat-like eyes were too clear and pure, softening the allure and elevating her innocent charm to the extreme.
When she spoke, her face made all sorts of expressions—furrowed brows, pouted lips, open mouth, wrinkled nose. Every expression on that face was adorably lethal.
Leigh, with her golden hair and green eyes, had deep, three-dimensional features that were exquisitely refined, like an angel from a game. Her smile was brilliantly radiant, and her clear green eyes added a touch of sanctity.
Her tall stature towered over everyone present. She stood straight and poised, also in a white shirt, but paired with suit pants instead of a pleated skirt. Her aura was elegant and commanding.
The two of them didn’t look like ordinary people at all.
They shone so brightly that they seemed from another dimension entirely, inevitably sparking crooked thoughts in some minds.
A damp, sticky, nauseating gaze drifted back from the front from time to time.
Leigh noticed it, but the surroundings were too dark for her to pinpoint who it was.
Leigh reached out and pulled Shen Ke into her arms, rubbing her cheek against the top of Shen Ke’s head. “Darling, I’m getting a bit scared now. You have to hold on to me tight.” Even as she said this, Leigh grinned exaggeratedly.
Shen Ke frowned and pinched Leigh’s waist. “Don’t act so crazy.”
Leigh’s voice dropped an octave. “Darling, you actually called me crazy? That hurts my feelings~”
Leigh’s gaze swept over the people ahead, scrutinizing each one.
She wanted to see which rat dared to covet her baby.
But perhaps her stare was too obvious, as no one looked their way now.
This escape room had twelve stages in total, with a two-hour time limit.
Shen Ke knew nothing about puzzles. She just stared blankly as the strangers analyzed and solved them.
It didn’t seem that scary. With this thought, Shen Ke left Leigh’s embrace and stepped forward eagerly. “Let me take a look!”
The others immediately made way for Shen Ke, letting her squeeze to the front.
Shen Ke stared intently at the painting before her, trying to find the clue to pass. She didn’t notice a hand emerging from the darkness, slowly reaching toward her waist.
But the next second, Leigh seized that hand.
Leigh’s smile widened as she followed the arm to its owner—a skinny, short man with a spirited face.
Intense pain shot through the man’s wrist. He had only wanted to cop a feel, but he hadn’t even succeeded before getting caught.
He wasn’t scared, though. Even if there were cameras, he could claim it was so dark and he was just nervous, grabbing something for reassurance.
As the man thought this, his expression shifted. He was about to turn the tables and question her when Leigh leaned in close and whispered, “Looks like you really like my friend.”
“Want her contact info? Wait for me in the alley next to this place after we get out.”
“I’ll have my friend come meet you.”
The man eyed Leigh suspiciously but saw only her sincere smile. Her eyes were lost in the shadows, but he bought it completely. This foreigner seemed pretty naive.
She had been glued to the girl in the skirt the whole time.
The man grinned and nodded eagerly.
Leigh released him, her expression tinged with apology. “Sorry, I was born with super strength.”
The man shook his head magnanimously, saying it was fine, not painful at all.
Shen Ke had no idea what had happened behind her. She scrutinized the painting left and right until she noticed the wall it hung on had an odd color in one spot. She reached out to touch it—no reaction—then pressed.
The floor beneath Shen Ke gave way, and she plummeted. It happened so fast that no one reacted until the trap snapped shut. Then someone screamed, “Fuck! Someone fell down!!!”
Leigh rushed to the front and stared at the closed spot. She took a deep breath, grabbed the call button, and asked, “Where’s the person?”
The staff voice came through the intercom.
“If you want to find your companion, solve the puzzles properly.”
Leigh gripped the device so hard she nearly crushed it. She really wanted to pull out a gun and shoot someone.
Meanwhile, Shen Ke had landed in a soft cushion—not painful, but the shock was intense.
Especially so suddenly. Shen Ke sat up from the pad and looked around the pitch-black room. Her eyes instantly reddened.
“Where am I!”
The speaker crackled to life. “Please wait for your companions to come save you.”
“Or you can try to find your way out to them.”
Faint candlelight illuminated the room. By its glow, Shen Ke scanned the space. It felt like she had really returned to an ancient bridal chamber.
Red bedding, red tablecloth, big double happiness characters plastered on the windows. Shen Ke felt no joy—only panic.
She clenched her fists and stood from the pad. That door seemed openable. But after a few steps, something tripped her. Heart pounding, she slowly looked down.
In the flickering candlelight, Shen Ke saw a pair of ghastly pale severed feet.
In that instant, her face drained of color. Tears welled up, and she was too terrified to even scream. She just stood there, frozen like an idiot.
On the other side, Leigh was frantic, but the flowery ancient Z Country text baffled her completely. She could only wait as the group sluggishly solved the puzzles.
After who knew how long, Leigh pushed open a door and finally spotted Shen Ke.
The weight lifted from her heart. Leigh hurried toward Shen Ke and, seeing the severed legs in front of her, kicked them away without thinking.
Leigh quickly pulled Shen Ke into her arms. “Baby, were you scared? Sorry I’m late.”
Shen Ke snapped back to reality from Leigh’s actions. She hugged back fiercely, burying her face in Leigh’s neck. Her tone was fierce. “Leigh, why did you take so long!”
Tears had already soaked Leigh’s neck.
Leigh felt the dampness on her skin. She patted Shen Ke’s back aggrievedly. “Sorry, I’m too dumb. I couldn’t understand those riddles.”
Shen Ke huffed, wiping all her tears on Leigh’s collar and neck. Then she looked up, inexplicably annoyed by Leigh’s appearance, and kicked her. “I’m never coming with you again! You’re so stupid!”
Leigh smiled and started acting coquettish in a high-pitched voice, even pouting and swinging Shen Ke’s arm. “Sorry~ Keke Baby, don’t be mad~”
Leigh’s coquettishness was stiff, but it made Shen Ke laugh.
Shen Ke wiped her eyes, unable to suppress her curving lips. “So gross.”
She exhaled. “Let’s go. Hurry up and get out. I’m never playing this again!”
After leaving the room, Shen Ke clung tightly to Leigh’s arm.
They finally cleared the last stage and escaped successfully.
By the time they exited the room, night had fallen.
Shen Ke glared sullenly at Leigh. “All your fault! We wasted so much time, and now it’s dark!”
“I’m going back now!”
Leigh led Shen Ke to the car, beaming. Her superior features made her smile stunningly beautiful—pure and healing, like an angel.
Leigh opened the car door for her and chuckled softly. “Keke Baby, wait here for me just a sec. I’ll be right back!”
Shen Ke’s eyes widened. She opened her mouth to speak, but Leigh had already turned and left.
Leigh’s figure vanished at the alley mouth. Shen Ke kicked the car in frustration. “Seriously, what is she doing at a time like this!”
Shen Ke waited a bit. The night breeze brushed her face, and she felt inexplicably uneasy. There were so few people around. She glanced at the driver wearing sunglasses in the dark.
Gritting her teeth, Shen Ke followed the direction Leigh had disappeared.
She had passed this alley on the way here and remembered clearly that it was a dead end.
Meanwhile, in the alley.
Leigh grinned wickedly and snapped the man’s finger with brute force.
The man convulsed in agony, but his mouth was gagged—he couldn’t scream.
This woman was a devil!!!
He was powerless to fight back and got beaten to the ground.
Leigh said casually, “Really fun.”
After breaking each of the man’s fingers one by one, she stomped on the back of his hand and pummeled his face with punch after punch.
“Really fun.”
Leigh’s strength was no joke. Blood poured from the man’s cheeks and nose.
He wanted to scream for help, to beg mercy, but all he could manage were muffled groans of pain.
Leigh narrowed her eyes, her expression one of pure delight, like she was playing the most enjoyable game.
The man had passed out at some point. Leigh pulled out a tissue and gently wiped the blood from her hands.
She chuckled. “Oops, sorry. Got a bit carried away.”
“Someone will take you to the hospital soon. Sweet dreams.”
Leigh smiled as she said it, then slowly turned. “Time to go see Keke. You really wasted a lot of my time.”
But as Leigh turned, a figure entered her view. In the moonlight, she recognized the person, and her pupils contracted sharply.
“Whoa, caught again.”
Shen Ke’s little face was ashen, her lashes trembling violently. She never imagined Leigh would do something like this.
The fresh image Leigh had built in her mind shattered completely. As Leigh approached, Shen Ke backed away helplessly, then turned and ran toward the light.
Her heart pounded wildly. Leigh was terrifying! If she hadn’t followed, she would have been fooled by Leigh’s cheerful, fragile daytime act!
Shen Ke ran toward the light at the alley mouth, joy surging as it grew closer. But the next second, arms reached from behind, one clamping over her mouth, the other around her waist, dragging her back into the shadows.
In that moment, Shen Ke’s terror peaked. Her body shook uncontrollably.
Leigh wedged her knee between Shen Ke’s legs. One hand covered Shen Ke’s mouth, the other gripped both wrists, pinning her slender arms above her head and slamming her body against the wall.
The moonlight vanished behind clouds, plunging the alley into total darkness.
Shen Ke cried in fear. It was too dark—only faint light from the street reached in. She could barely make out Leigh’s facial outline, not her expression.
Leigh sighed leisurely. “Baby, why did you follow me? How much did you see?”
“Looks like I can’t pretend around you anymore.”
“The dating manual said pure little puppies are the most popular, so I followed it to the letter.”
“But it’s only been this long, and you’ve already figured it out.”
Shen Ke’s eyes widened, tears streaming endlessly.
Leigh watched her and chuckled lowly. “You look so pretty when you cry.”
“Why didn’t you cry back in the bathroom when she licked you?”
“Speaking of which, did you go all the way with that bug, hmm?”
Hearing these words, Shen Ke grew even more afraid. Turns out Leigh had known all along, yet she had kept acting as if nothing was wrong.
Shen Ke’s eyes turned bright red, making her look utterly pitiful.
As Leigh spoke, she let out a whoa. “I forgot Baby’s lips are covered by me right now.”
“But if I let go, what if you attract others over?”
Shen Ke shook her head vigorously. Leigh was so scary—she was already too frightened to make a sound.
Seeing this, Leigh revealed a smile, much like the one Shen Ke had seen from her during the day.
Leigh released the hand covering Shen Ke’s lips and whispered lowly, “Don’t call out, or I won’t be able to hold back.”
Hold back from what? From hitting her? Like how she had beaten that man until his face was covered in blood?
Shen Ke bit her lower lip. Tears soaked her eyelashes, her cheeks flushed red and her nose tip pink, making her look extremely pitiful. “I-I won’t call out.”
“Leigh, c-can you let me go? Please let me go.” Her voice was hoarse and soft, laced with a sobbing tone that could melt anyone who heard it.
Leigh’s smile widened. She hooked Shen Ke’s chin, forcing her to lift her head. “Baby, you want me to let you go? Sure, but what will you offer in exchange?”
Shen Ke pursed her lips and clenched her legs together, starting to rub them gently against each other. “I-I can help you out.” She didn’t have much else of value. Leigh was so clingy with her and had even brought up the thing with Qi Yuan on purpose, so she definitely wanted that.
If she used her body to get Leigh to let her go, it wasn’t out of the question—Qi Yuan never went all the way anyway.
A little scheme bubbled up in Shen Ke’s heart. The more she thought about it, the more feasible it seemed, as long as Leigh truly wanted her.
Shen Ke lifted her head and gently bit Leigh’s lip before licking it, just like a little cat.
“Is this okay?”
Leigh’s grip on Shen Ke’s wrist tightened fiercely. Her emerald eyes darkened completely as she raised a brow and let out a whoa. “Baby, are you seducing me?” She sounded calm on the surface, but the end of her sentence trembled.
Shen Ke felt both scared and shy. She nodded slightly. “Yes, I’m seducing you. If you don’t want it, I can give the fifty million back to you.” With that, Shen Ke lifted her teary eyes and pleaded softly, “Leigh, let me go, okay?”
Leigh’s heart pounded hard. She could hold back no longer. She lowered her head and kissed Shen Ke’s lips fiercely, prying open her teeth with extreme force.
She was—going crazy.
