After class, at her seat, Shen Ke crossed her arms and leaned back in her chair with her eyes closed, resting.
She did not attend some international high school but had earned her spot at the city’s top high school through her own hard work.
It was just because, when she was little, she had overheard a conversation between Shen Father and Shen Mother.
“Little Ke’s IQ is fine, but compared to the eldest and second eldest, she’s definitely slower.”
“If we follow a normal study path, she won’t even pass the high school entrance exam.”
“Sigh, this child.”
At that time, she swore that she would get into a good high school.
Later, Shen Ke started working hard and really did make it into the top high school.
But for her, the academic pressure was too much, and gradually, it became harder and harder.
She did not want to admit that she was dumb, but she seemed to really be dumb—every exam, she ranked near the bottom of the class.
Shen Ke’s eyelashes trembled. Actually, compared to this posture, she wanted more to sprawl across her desk, but that was too unbecoming of her image.
Suddenly, someone nearby shouted, “Shen Ke, someone is looking for you.”
Shen Ke slowly opened her eyes and looked toward the door. A tall girl with wheat-colored skin and wolf-tail short hair stood at the entrance, staring straight at her.
Shen Ke recognized the visitor and sneered. She stood up and strode over.
“Shi Xu, you still dare to come find me!”
The break between major classes was quite long. Shi Xu’s expression was not good. She said to Shen Ke, “Let’s talk in the bathroom—this isn’t a good place.”
Shen Ke glared at Shi Xu, bumped her shoulder, and headed toward the bathroom first.
Shi Xu had come looking for her herself. Today, Shen Ke was determined to slap her.
In the bathroom, Shen Ke and Shi Xu entered the innermost stall one after the other.
The bathroom was not an ideal place to talk, but everywhere was crowded right now.
Shi Xu could not wait any longer. Upon closer inspection, her eyes were a bit red.
“Shen Ke, who was the person you got out of the car with this morning?” Shi Xu kept her voice low, but the agitation in her tone was clear.
Shen Ke let out a few cold laughs. “None of your damn business.”
Shi Xu took a deep breath. “Do you know that word about you and that person has spread everywhere?”
“Did you sleep with her?” At this point, Shi Xu’s voice trembled.
Her words left Shen Ke completely baffled. Which person? Sleep with what?
But seeing Shi Xu’s ugly expression, Shen Ke smiled and nodded. “Yeah, I did.”
In an instant, Shi Xu’s face turned terrifyingly dark, unable to be hidden even by her wheat-colored skin.
She clenched her fists tightly and squeezed out the words through gritted teeth. “Shen Ke, we’ve only been apart a few days.”
Shen Ke’s face turned cold. Without another word, she swung a slap right at her.
Shi Xu did not dodge and let Shen Ke’s palm land on her face with a crisp smack.
But as Shen Ke tried to pull her hand back, Shi Xu grabbed her hand and pressed it against her own face.
Shi Xu’s eyes truly reddened now. “Shen Ke, we’ve only been together a month—we haven’t even kissed.”
Damn it, why should some girl she’d barely been with get to have Shen Ke?
Mentioning this made Shen Ke’s anger flare too. “You bitch, you still dare to talk? I was so good to you, and you went behind my back telling others I’m rich and stupid—that’s one thing.”
“But Yue Lingqing crooks her finger, and you go running.”
“Do you even remember you’re my girlfriend?”
“You’re such a slut!”
Shen Ke furrowed her brows, her eyes lifting at the corners. She looked extremely angry, her red lips opening and closing, hard to ignore.
Shi Xu shifted her gaze from Shen Ke’s red lips to her eyes. Shen Ke’s eyes were dark and bright, filled with fury toward her.
Shi Xu pulled Shen Ke’s soft hand toward her own face, urging her to hit while cursing herself. “This foul mouth of mine loves spilling everything. Shen Ke, hit me a few more times.”
She slapped herself several times in a row. Shi Xu then stopped, but she still held Shen Ke’s hand against her face.
Shi Xu’s eyes were very red. She explained softly, “I have nothing to do with Yue Lingqing.” She had sought out Yue Lingqing a few times, but only because she’d heard from others that Yue Lingqing lived near Shen Ke and wanted to learn more about her. And what she’d told her friends was that Shen Ke was rich and stupid, too easy to fool.
She had no intention of insulting Shen Ke.
Several times, she had wanted to explain things clearly to Shen Ke, but every time Shen Ke saw her, she showed disgust and kept her distance.
So she planned to wait until Shen Ke calmed down before approaching her again, but instead, she heard from others today that Shen Ke was with someone else.
“Wow, Shen Ke is so bold—she left marks all over that girl’s neck.”
“They definitely slept together. The glasses girl seems to be Feng Jian; everyone calls her the mute.”
Student gossip was endless, and all sorts flooded into Shi Xu’s ears. She was about to explode with rage and could not wait another moment.
Shen Ke sneered coldly. “You think I’m really that stupid, huh? Whatever you say, I believe it?”
“I’m telling you, Shi Xu, we’re completely done.”
Shi Xu’s mind buzzed. She enunciated each word. “Shen Ke, you said you loved me the most.”
Shen Ke’s expression was cold. “I’ve said that to dozens of people.” In reality, it was only a dozen or so, but she had to make it hurt.
She had slapped her and said her piece. Shen Ke figured there was no need to interact with Shi Xu anymore.
She yanked her hand back and shoved Shi Xu hard to the side. “Get lost.”
Shi Xu bumped into the partition with a thud.
With that cold gaze and cold words, Shi Xu felt her heart pierced like by needles. She could not accept Shen Ke treating her this way.
They had been intimate lovers not long ago—how could Shen Ke change her heart so quickly?
Shen Ke had just reached for the door handle when a hand stretched from behind and pressed onto hers.
A larger palm completely covered her hand.
Shen Ke frowned, her tone displeased. “Let go.”
Shi Xu tightened her fingers, leaned close to Shen Ke, and looked down at the back of her head from above. Her voice was low. “Shen Ke, you can’t do this. You’re the one who turned me.”
Shen Ke’s frown deepened. “Let go, or I’ll scream.”
Shi Xu slowly lowered her head. “Why won’t you hear my explanation?” Her eyes were filled with gloom.
She did not like girls originally—it was Shen Ke who had made her this way.
Shen Ke keenly sensed the off atmosphere and tensed up, wanting to escape this space quickly. But the hand Shi Xu had pinned down would not budge.
Shen Ke pursed her lips. “Shi Xu, I only believe what I hear and see.”
Shi Xu seemed not to hear her reply. She continued, “Why, after just a few days apart, did you sleep with someone else?”
“We didn’t even kiss between us.”
This made Shen Ke’s eyes widen. Her slow brain finally caught on to what Shi Xu had meant by “did it” at the start.
Shen Ke lowered her voice and cursed. “What the hell are you talking about? You—mmph.” As she spoke, a sudden pain at the back of her neck made her eyes fly open, turning her words into a muffled grunt.
Just then, the class bell rang.
Shen Ke did not dare move. Her nape was bitten—not very painful, but terrifying.
Her face instantly paled. That small patch of skin on her nape sank into a warm, wet mouth, hard teeth gripping the soft flesh.
The sensation was strange.
Shen Ke clenched her fingers; her tongue stumbled when she spoke. “Shi—Shi Xu, what are you doing?”
“We should go to class.”
Shi Xu left a bite mark on the back of Shen Ke’s neck, then rested her head on Shen Ke’s shoulder. Without answering, she said slowly, “Shen Ke, you’re the one who made me like this. You have to take responsibility.”
Shen Ke was about to say something when a knock suddenly came from the door.
Before she could speak, one hand covered her mouth, and the other pulled her hand off the door handle.
Shen Ke was dragged backward.
The knocking at the door grew louder.
Shen Ke swallowed. Their voices had not been too loud or too soft, but not enough to warrant pounding like this—as if trying to break the door down. And with the class bell having rung, the bathroom should have been empty by now.
Shi Xu pulled Shen Ke to sit on the toilet. She sat on the toilet seat with Shen Ke on her lap. Shi Xu narrowed her eyes and sneered coldly, whispering by Shen Ke’s ear. “Shen Ke, who do you think it is?”
Shen Ke ignored Shi Xu. During their relationship, there had been hugging and holding, so she did not mind sitting in Shi Xu’s lap.
It was just uncomfortable having her mouth covered.
The thin stall door rattled with bangs.
Shen Ke watched the constantly shaking door. The huge noise in her ears told her the person outside had switched from knocking to kicking.
The bathroom door was not sturdy. Shen Ke started struggling against Shi Xu’s hand. In a moment, the door would be kicked open, and she might get hurt. She needed to call out to stop the person outside.
But Shi Xu was strong; Shen Ke could not pull free and could only twist her body in resistance.
With her abdomen pressed against Shi Xu’s back, Shen Ke’s movements caused friction where their bodies touched.
Shi Xu frowned and wrapped her other arm around Shen Ke’s entire waist, pinning her in place.
Suddenly, with a thud, the stall door lock broke.
The unrestrained door swung slowly open. The person standing outside made Shen Ke’s eyes widen. How could it be Feng Jian?!
Shi Xu glanced over and scoffed. “So it’s the other woman.” She eyed the red marks on Feng Jian’s neck—just thinking they were from Shen Ke made them sting her eyes.
Feng Jian walked in and said lowly, “Let her go.” It was hard to describe her mood at that moment, seeing Feng Jian holding someone in a forced embrace.
Shi Xu curled her lip, her gaze icy. She simply replied with three words. “Why should I?”
Feng Jian stiffly turned her eyes. She looked at Shen Ke’s wide black pupils and reached out a hand.
Seeing Feng Jian’s hand rushing toward her face, Shen Ke instinctively closed her eyes.
Wind whistled past her ear, followed by a bang. Shi Xu clutched her hand and let go.
The hand pinning Shen Ke’s waist also released.
Feng Jian pressed Shi Xu’s face and slammed her head into the wall behind.
She hung her head, her long bangs and glasses hiding her dark eyes. She said softly, “I said.”
“Let her go.”
Shen Ke opened her eyes and stared blankly at the close Feng Jian. Behind her was Shi Xu, in front Feng Jian, and Feng Jian’s arm crossed by her cheek.
Feng Jian brushed past her and pressed Shi Xu’s head against the wall.
Shen Ke was not sure if it was her imagination, but Feng Jian’s eyes seemed especially ferocious right then—despite her bangs and glasses making it hard to see.
Feng Jian withdrew her hand, yanked the dazed Shen Ke out of Shi Xu’s arms, and pulled her behind herself.
Shen Ke peered past Feng Jian’s shoulder. Shi Xu had stood up, her eyes ominously dark.
Both were taller than her. Shen Ke quietly backed out of the stall but did not leave.
Shi Xu rubbed the back of her head where it hurt from the impact and looked at Feng Jian with disgust. “Mistresses just can’t act proper.”
“What makes you think you can seduce Shen Ke?”
“You’re all skin and bones—no appeal at all.” As she spoke, Shi Xu swung her fist.
She often worked on cars and had better physical fitness than most her age.
She put her full force into this punch.
Feng Jian caught the incoming fist, but her strength was slightly inferior. She could not fully block it and took the hit to her stomach.
It hurt a lot, drawing a muffled grunt from Feng Jian.
But she reacted quickly. The next second, she gripped Shi Xu’s arm with both hands and twisted, while kicking at Shi Xu’s leg.
Shen Ke watched the scene, too scared to move. She never imagined girls could fight so viciously.
She clenched her fists and called out shakily, “Don’t fight, please don’t fight.”
