Zhen Yan wasn’t as mentally strong as Jia Hua and was still easily moved by the most sincere emotions of family.

With red-rimmed eyes, she said: “Beneath their smiles, there’s also deep worry and reluctance for us.”

Jia Hua pulled her into her arms and comforted her: “Then let’s make sure we don’t get hurt and come home every chance we get.”

“Okay.” This was the first time Zhen Yan had been pulled into Jia Hua’s embrace. Jia Hua’s warm hug quickly calmed her heart.

“Ahem.” Lieutenant Colonel Wu in the front seat handed two document envelopes to the two of them. “Look through these carefully.”

Jia Hua’s envelope had one more thing than Zhen Yan’s: hundreds of nape patches.

Jia Hua reached out and touched her own nape patch, which she’d put on to pretend she had a gland, then looked at the high-grade item in her hand. Her eyebrow raised: Oh ho, this is simply perfect for me!

Inside the envelope was also a fake ID, as well as documents like the check-in process, campus map, and school rules and regulations. Then she swiftly flipped through the other documents, shoved them all back into the envelope, and tossed it into her backpack.

Inside the hovercar, Zhen Yan asked: “Jia Hua, do you think I should reply to her messages now?”

Earlier, to keep the two from being disturbed, General Qin had arranged for those in the know not to leak a single bit of information. Now that they were leaving An City, there was no need to keep it hidden anymore.

Jia Hua leaned over to look. It turned out Zhang Juan had sent Zhen Yan numerous messages on the day of their differentiation.

“Reply then. Let her be shocked.” Jia Hua laughed. She could already predict just how shocked Zhang Juan would be.

Zhen Yan opened Zhang Juan’s chat interface and silently sent a message: 【I’m an A-rank Alpha, have already been admitted to the Imperial Fourth Military Academy. When I’m on break, I’ll come back and hang out with you.】

“Time to get out.” Just as Jia Hua and Zhen Yan were about to close their eyes and sleep, Lieutenant Colonel Wu spoke up.

Jia Hua looked out the car window and saw a small military ship emblazoned with the Imperial Fourth Military Academy’s emblem parked on the lawn outside.

The group boarded the warship. It wasn’t large, but it could carry several dozen people. Yet currently, besides Zhen Yan and Jia Hua, everyone onboard was either an officer or a soldier.

This warship was exclusively sent to pick up the two.

“Please fasten your seatbelts. The ship is about to take off,” a soldier came over and told them.

Just as they fastened their seatbelts, the warship swiftly took off, heading towards outer space.

The warship was far faster than an airplane. It quickly tore through the sky, broke free from the planet’s gravity, and soared into the vast, starry sea.

This was Jia Hua’s first time seeing the magnificent scenes of space with her own eyes. Distant stars clustered brilliantly, shining their own light and shadow in this boundless void.

“The Imperial Fourth Military Academy is located on Planet Dinkley. It’s not too far from the Empire’s main star. A nap and you’ll be there,” Lieutenant Colonel Wu, sitting in front, advised.

“Alright, thank you.”

The two watched the starscape outside for a while, then fell asleep. After all, it was all just twinkle, twinkle, little star.

When they were woken again, the warship had landed on the lawn outside the freshman dorm complex of the Imperial Fourth Military Academy. A hovercar was parked not far from the ship. Beside it stood a smiling female Alpha waiting for them.

Before disembarking, Lieutenant Colonel Wu said to Jia Hua: “Aside from high-ranking officers, your homeroom teacher and subject teachers, and people like me who fetched you, no one knows your true gender. So within the academy, I hope you can think of yourself as an Alpha, and absolutely do not let anyone discover your real gender.”

Jia Hua smiled and nodded: “Okay.”

Lieutenant Colonel Wu led them towards the dorm manager in charge of the freshman Class A dormitories. “Teacher Zhang, these two are newly reported Class A students. I’ll trouble you to take care of them.”

“Don’t worry, Teacher Wu, I’ll take good care of them,” Dorm Manager Zhang said, smiling gently.

Lieutenant Colonel Wu boarded the warship and flew into the distance, leaving only Dorm Manager Zhang, Jia Hua, and Zhen Yan.

This type of hovercar was very small, oval-shaped, with only front and back rows, seating six at most. There was no driver’s seat; you just set the destination on the electronic screen, and the hovercar would auto-pilot to the designated location.

“Hello, Teacher Zhang. My name is Zhen Yan, and she is Qin Hua,” Zhen Yan greeted the teacher.

“Hello, my surname is Zhang. Just call me Teacher Zhang,” the dorm manager smiled.

“Get in. It’s so late; you two should head to your dorm, rest, and sleep early.” Dorm Manager Zhang’s smile was gentle, making it easy to leave a good impression on first-meeting students.

It was already late at night. The enormous dorm complex was quiet and still. Apart from unmanned patrol drones moving along the campus paths, not a single student was in sight.

Dorm Manager Zhang: “This area is the freshman dormitories. The dorms for sophomores, juniors, and seniors are elsewhere. The academy has regulations: apart from special arrangements, from 11 PM to 5:50 AM the next day, no student is permitted to be outside their dorm. Violators are punished with a 100,000-meter run.”

100,000 meters… Could someone die from that?

Zhen Yan nodded: “No wonder the campus is empty. Teacher Zhang, what time do we get up in the morning?”

Dorm Manager Zhang smiled: “The bell rings at 5:50. At 6:00 sharp, all freshmen assemble on the drill ground in front of the dorm complex for a half-hour run.”

Zhen Yan: “Only ten minutes?”

Dorm Manager Zhang: “No, five minutes. From your Class A dorm area to the drill ground, it’s a five-minute walk.”

Zhen Yan looked at Jia Hua worriedly upon hearing this. Jia Hua raised an eyebrow at her and smiled, “It’s fine, I won’t be late.”

The hovercar stopped at Class A’s dorm area. The two got out and looked—oh wow, what dorms? These were standalone villas, complete with small courtyards!

Each villa had a stone plaque outside, inscribed with the dorm number.

“Student Zhen, you’ll be in Dorm A-02. Here is your key. Student Qin, your dorm is on the other side,” Dorm Manager Zhang said.

Seeing they weren’t next to each other, Zhen Yan felt worried: “Teacher, can’t our dorms be next to each other?”

This place was a military academy, mostly Alphas. And Jia Hua was an Omega—she could be in danger.

“Sorry, this is the school’s arrangement,” Dorm Manager Zhang shook her head.

Just then, Jia Hua stepped forward, smiling: “It’s fine, we’ll follow the school’s arrangement.”

Anyway, no matter where they assigned her to live, she could precisely pinpoint Zhen Yan’s dorm.

Looking at the slight nod of Jia Hua’s chin, Zhen Yan said nothing more.

They went to the tailgate of the hovercar to get Zhen Yan’s luggage. Originally, both had one suitcase and one handbag. But when collecting Zhen Yan’s things, Jia Hua carried both handbags into Zhen Yan’s dorm.

Zhen Yan knew: that handbag was filled with Jia Hua’s clothes.

Before leaving, Jia Hua, out of Dorm Manager Zhang’s line of sight, kissed Zhen Yan quickly: “Leave the window unlocked for me.”

Zhen Yan’s eyes widened. She whispered: “Getting caught means a 100,000-meter run!”

Jia Hua stroked Zhen Yan’s hair, raising an eyebrow with a smile: “That 100,000 meters will never land on my head.”

Dorm Manager Zhang behind them was calling her. Jia Hua smiled and turned to leave.

Jia Hua’s confident demeanor made a suspicion Zhen Yan had kept deeply buried resurface from the bottom of her heart.

Watching Jia Hua leave with Dorm Manager Zhang in the hovercar, distancing further and further, she reached out and touched the spot where she had been kissed. The corner of her mouth lifted, her eyes radiant.

“Is she… planning to stay over at my place tonight?”

Sitting in the hovercar, Jia Hua gazed at the rows of standalone villas passing by and suddenly asked: “Teacher Zhang, are all the A-rank Alphas in the school personally fetched by the principal?”

Dorm Manager Zhang laughed: “How could that be? A-rank Alphas are few, but looking across the entire Empire, there are still quite a few.
