“Prince!”
“Prince Gorfur, what’s going on? Is he dead?”
The beastman soldiers saw that Gorfur showed no sign of life at all. They hurried forward to check his condition, only for his massive body to thud heavily to the ground in response.
Disbelief was the first thing that appeared in their eyes, But the beastmen quickly accepted this tragic reality. Without their leader, they devolved into a meaningless mob, scattering in all directions. Before fleeing, they didn’t forget to snatch Gorfur’s severed head along with the crown made from the ivory tusks atop it.
“Run! The prince is dead! Run!”
“Lady Xuefei, we don’t dare anymore! Please spare us!”
With the battle over, Xuefei elegantly flapped her wings and hovered in the air. Mimicking Leia, she summoned a translucent chair beneath her body.
It was said that this made one look far more regal.
This was the perfect opportunity to establish her authority, and Xuefei—ever the vain little dragon—couldn’t possibly let it slip by! But as she gazed at the corpses about to be carted off as fertilizer, a fleeting thought crossed her mind:
Is this really okay?
The news that she had slain Prince Gorfur would only deepen the Evil Dragon’s infamous reputation.
But who cared? After all, she was the Evil Dragon.
Xuefei casually picked up the skull hanging from Gorfur’s neck like a necklace. It was strung with the bones of defeated generals from various races—eerie and utterly infuriating.
The Evil Dragon merely craved wealth and bloodshed; she had no taste for such lowbrow pastimes. Weren’t piles of real gold and silver far more entertaining than these tacky souvenirs?
Crimson-purple flames ignited at Xuefei’s fingertips. The skull crumbled to ashes, which she collected in a clear little crystal vial she’d found somewhere, storing it away for the time being. She wondered idly if any necromancer could revive these fools.
Ah, but then she remembered—she’d mixed all their ashes together. There was no way they’d come back normally. It would be a total mess. Besides, their souls had probably already wandered off to the Light Envoy or the Dark Filth…
What a headache.
And the real headache was still to come:
“Lady Xuefei, you’re not hurt, are you?”
“Xuefei, you didn’t get cursed by the beastmen’s magic, did you? Let me check you over.”
“Xuefei, don’t go doing anything reckless!”
The instant Xuefei touched down, the maids swarmed her, crowding around so tightly that not even a drop of water could pass through. They gazed at the Dragon King’s consort with eyes full of worry—especially fixated on the dragon egg nestled in her belly.
Xuefei felt utterly doomed.
She’d thought this fight would finally earn her some respect, but even after one-shotting a beastman prince, these people were still treating her like a precious baby. It was utterly baffling!
Just what about her was so cute?
Can’t you all kneel and swear fealty already?!
She let out a sigh, resigned in some measure to this teeth-grinding reality.
Leia was the Complete Filth Soul. She commanded awe from all Dark Filth and terror from every living creature. If Leia herself had been present, these beastmen wouldn’t have had any room to strut—the mere act of standing straight-legged before her would have been an ordeal.
So what was Xuefei’s deal?
She’d just been slaughtering without mercy, perfectly embodying the Evil Dragon’s villainy, hadn’t she? Then why was everyone still looking at her with such adoration?
Even more people pressed in, and sure enough, it was the leaders of the Demon Race cheering her on.
“Did you see that? That’s Xuefei’s charm—the Evil Dragon herself. Mmm… she’s incredible!”
“As expected of a dragon. She crushes these small-time punks without breaking a sweat!”
Xuefei could definitely hear the reverence in their voices, but it fell far short of true fear. At best, it was the cheerful vibe of fans celebrating their mascot or buddy clinching a championship victory. Damn it…
Then, amid the crowd, one voice stood out from the rest, impossible to ignore.
“Xuefei is so cool!”
The Little Dragon Girl whipped her head around to see Andrea’s face lit up with pure joy.
So cool…
It was the first time Xuefei had heard that familiar phrase since transforming into a Dragon Girl.
She turned to Andrea, brimming with anticipation, and clutched a hand excitedly to her chest.
“Right? Right? I knew I was cool! Hehe~”
“Xuefei is the coolest in the world!”
It seemed Andrea took Xuefei’s words as praise for herself. She bashfully scratched her head, her two little black wings fluttering up and down in a way that mirrored her inner turmoil.
Xuefei had killed a beastman prince for her sake, and Andrea was deeply touched.
Watching that bastard’s head hit the dirt felt even better than winning the lottery.
So…
The maids around her were all fussing over her. If Andrea didn’t chime in with something, it would feel a little awkward…
But those maids seemed to be muttering words like “cute.” Did Xuefei prefer hearing that from others? No, she really was cute—no denying it—but Andrea simply hadn’t known what to say and had blurted out “very handsome” by mistake.
It hadn’t escalated to outright desire yet, but from that first glimpse of Xuefei, Andrea had felt an overwhelming urge to draw close to this adorable little dragon girl. Perhaps everyone felt the same pull.
Especially during that moment when she floated in midair, Xuefei putting on her best tsundere queen act. Her thoughtful nature, always considering others, took on an even more vibrant, playful spark from her perch as the haughty little dragon—irresistible in every way.
Sure enough, Xuefei turned to look at her!
Just as Andrea suspected, Xuefei didn’t care for comments about her being “handsome.” Someone like Xuefei probably preferred compliments on her cuteness. After all, she was a devoted wife who had willingly carried a dragon egg; it was only natural for her to have such delicate sensibilities.
“Xuefei is so cute!”
“…”
Xuefei nearly swooned on the spot.
For a fleeting instant, she had wondered if Andrea was turning into some kind of fangirl. But why couldn’t even she sense the aura of a world-ending sovereign?
As if to confirm her suspicions, Xuefei ignored all the concern and questions around her. With an utterly serious, earnest gaze, she stepped forward on her dainty white-stockinged feet and planted herself in front of Andrea.
“What did you say? Could you repeat that?”
“Xuefei is so cute?” Andrea tilted her head, playing along. Xuefei shook her head fiercely, her eyes gleaming brighter than ever:
“No, no, no—the sentence before that!”
“Xuefei… very handsome?”
“Yes, yes, that’s the one!”
The words hit Xuefei like a miracle cure. Her spirits soared, her cheeks flushed with rosy health. If any legendary pill or elixir could heal a wounded heart, it had to be validation like this!
“Ah…”
Andrea’s expression turned pitiful in an instant, her massive wings drooping limply at her sides.
Xuefei had heard it after all. Andrea really shouldn’t have opened her mouth…
Now the cute little Xuefei might end up hating her.
Suddenly, a voice cut through everyone’s thoughts. Andrea felt herself engulfed in endless darkness. Her face froze, her body locked in place, unable to shift so much as a muscle.
“Little Xuefei just needs to be cute enough~”
The feeling lasted only a few seconds. But when Andrea saw the second dragon girl take form from the shadows behind Xuefei, all her panic transformed into reverence.
She and the others scattered apart in unison. The lively atmosphere plunged into silence, like an audience holding its breath just before the curtain fell—even the occasional howl of wind rattling the windows stood out.
The figure before them was the leader of Camiran Dark Defilement, the supreme existence atop the Demon Race.
Evil Dragon.
They dropped to half-kneel, pledging their loyalty.
“Lady Leia…”
