“What? You two want to go out?”
In the afternoon, as Laer was cleaning, she noticed Leia and Xuefei heading for the door. She paused in her work, eyeing them mysteriously—Leia radiant with springtime bliss, Xuefei looking somewhat reluctant.
Xuefei’s belly wasn’t swollen anymore, which felt strangely unfamiliar.
“Our Domain has already begun expanding into Demon Race territory. The Gods can’t cross the barrier—it’s safe enough.”
“Mm, but you should still be careful… Actually, I’ll come along too, just in case.”
“Shouldn’t you go find Celi?” Xuefei tilted her head in surprise.
Celi should be resting today. Laer had no reason not to invite her to join the fun, especially since the two were in the heat of newfound romance—they shouldn’t part so soon.
But Laer’s serious expression turned helpless the next instant. She closed her eyes and shrugged.
“She’s passed out.”
“What? Is she sick?” Xuefei widened her eyes.
Could it be that after Laer used some special method to turn her into Dark Filth, her body couldn’t adapt?
Indeed, Celi was now Dark Filth, one of the Demon Race’s own. It wasn’t a choice to keep her forever young, but a necessary step to bring her over to their side—a punishment for betraying the Dragon King.
Still, hearing of bodily discomfort after becoming Dark Filth was a first.
“No.”
Laer shook her head calmly, cutting off Xuefei’s train of thought entirely.
She wanted to see just how fragile the little snake really was.
Laer still remembered how, after Celi sprouted demon horns, she boasted wildly to her that her power had grown, that she’d pin Laer down and make her lay eggs just like Xuefei. That confident smile was still vivid in her mind.
Yet in the end, Laer had made her pass out.
Xuefei caught the helplessness on Laer’s face and instantly understood, silently praying for Celi’s safety.
…At least, in the second playthrough, she was happy.
After bidding Laer farewell, Leia took Xuefei’s hand and headed out of the Palace.
But at the door, Xuefei halted at the sight of sunlight streaming down the corridor outside.
“Xuefei?”
Leia’s question didn’t get an immediate answer. She turned back and saw Little Evil Dragon Xuefei’s frozen expression. Their eyes met, and Xuefei said weakly:
“I feel like… I can’t go out right now.”
“Why?”
“It just feels like something’s missing. I can’t… not right now…”
Something vitally important was absent.
Like forgetting to button your coat on a freezing winter night, a spy botching evidence disposal on a mission, a soldier staring down the barrel of an enemy cannon on the battlefield…
Her heart refused to settle.
Simply clutching her chest hard wasn’t enough to ease the mounting tension. Without a second thought, Xuefei shot Leia a pleading glance and bolted up the Palace stairs in a rush, straight to the top floor—the Dragon Nest.
She burst through the door and saw the dragon egg lying lonely and cold in its little nest. Xuefei kicked off her little leather shoes, padded softly across the cushion to the egg without a word, knelt before it, clamped it between her thighs, and hugged the heavy thing tight to her chest. Her body heat enveloped the egg’s surface once more, seeping into the not-yet-fully-formed Dragon Baby inside. Only then did her taut nerves begin to loosen slightly.
“Baby, Baby~”
“Mama’s back for you, good girl.”
“Xuefei…?”
Leia pushed open the door just in time to see Little Xuefei rocking back and forth in the Dragon Nest. The latter turned to look at her, eyes brimming with grievance.
“Sorry, Leia. I feel like I can’t bear to part from it… Even for a little while, and I get so anxious.”
Leia’s shock went beyond words.
Xuefei had fully transformed into a mother—no, more fervent than any ordinary mother. Her [Obsession] with the dragon egg burned like a moth hurling itself into flame.
Tears the size of beans welled in Little Dragon Girl’s eyes.
She knew she had changed, but over questioning it, she wanted only to protect the egg. Even a few minutes apart was unbearable…
“Wahh, sorry Leia, I didn’t mean to. We were supposed to go shopping…”
“It’s okay. If Xuefei wants to stay here, then we won’t go out.”
Leia slipped off her shoes and padded onto the Dragon Nest’s soft cushion, crawling up to Xuefei. Seeing her draw near, Xuefei instinctively leaned into her.
And so they formed a strange tableau: Xuefei cradling the dragon egg, Leia cradling Xuefei…
Once, Xuefei had never understood why so many girls needed protection, needed companionship.
Now, she understood completely.
Especially in a state of helplessness both mentally and physically, if someone stayed by your side every day, you would likely fall irrevocably in love with that protector. You would never be able to leave her—or the child.
That was the reason Leia had made her lay the egg.
Xuefei finally understood.
The moment the dragon egg emerged from her body, she had become Leia’s wife forever. From her heart to her very soul, she was drifting ever further down the path of femininity… Though in truth, the seeds of it had already taken root in her subconscious during that first menstruation, growing into something irreversible.
In short, she was completely pinned down.
She had once thought of resisting, but now that felt like a distant, impossible fantasy. After raising this child, would there even be a chance to make Leia lay a dragon egg in return?
“I’m turning so strange,” she murmured.
“Where’s the strangeness? I think you’re perfectly normal, Xuefei. You have to lay more eggs for me in the future—give me lots of children!”
“…”
Xuefei said nothing. Instead, she nuzzled deeper into Leia’s embrace, savoring the refreshing scent of her body and the softness of her hold. Every breath sent her cells into a frenzy of delight.
Seeing this, Leia gently cupped Xuefei’s face. Even though it burned like a red-hot branding iron against her palms, the sparkle in Xuefei’s eyes gave her resolve. She leaned in and kissed her.
It was just like always—the only difference was that Xuefei didn’t pull away. This time, she met the kiss eagerly. Xuefei felt a wave of relief when Leia didn’t tease or mock her for taking the initiative for the first time.
“Don’t go back on your word about staying together forever.”
“I already told you, I’m not some heartless flirt~”
“Hmph…”
“Do you like me, Xuefei? I’m just surprised you didn’t resist.”
“I like you. I like Leia the most.”
Shyness and affection intertwined on her face, weaving the most beautiful patterns. At the same time, two pink heart shapes bloomed in her pupils, like those of a little succubus.
“So Xuefei was thinking of me all along. That’s a rare sight—such adorable cuteness. It’s like finding the most vibrant flower amid a blooming garden.”
Xuefei knew exactly what Leia was hinting at. She let out a sigh but felt no sorrow or despair.
When Leia pecked her cherry lips once more, Xuefei realized that this was destined to be no ordinary afternoon.
