Chapter 57: Chapter Fifty-Seven

Li Yuanxi picked Wei Shu up and carried her to the bed, lowering her head to bite Wei Shu’s lips, nibbling on the red curves little by little. Their long, lingering breaths intertwined as they kissed, pulling each other’s air into their lungs.

The fully released scent of roses and musk blended together. A faint hint of tuberose neutralized the seductive sweetness of the two, adding a touch of elegance and charm.

Wei Shu’s pheromones completely swept Li Yuanxi into the throes of passion. The boundless agarwood engulfed the entire cave, transforming from a subtle scent into an aggressive, possessive aroma that wrapped itself entirely around Wei Shu.

Li Yuanxi braced herself above Wei Shu, kissing her face inch by inch, moving down to her beautiful, slender neck.

The bright firelight cast a dim, yellowed shadow on the stone walls. Li Yuanxi’s calloused fingertips traced gently over Wei Shu’s beautiful collarbones.

The light rain continued to fall outside, the wind roaring, the trees rustling, and the waves surging to the sky, like a dragon causing havoc, yearning for flight.

A month had passed since the black box was recovered. The 9/5 incident had once again stirred up a massive public outcry. Both domestic and international media were focused on the contents of the black box.

Stop the search in this sea area. Everyone else, return gradually.

The search teams still at sea received the order. Silence fell over every face. They had found the tail section of the plane here, but not a single body.

Everyone knew very well that after such a long time, the bodies would have been eaten by deep-sea fish or carried away by the ocean currents. Or worse, they might have disintegrated in mid-air.

The rescue team, which was seven hundred nautical miles from the island, departed via another route. Li Yuanxi and Wei Shu knew nothing of this. They were lost in each other’s pheromones.

The seawater that had flooded the foot of the mountain had unknowingly risen another dozen meters, but it was still a good distance from the cave. The air grew even more damp and freezing.

Wei Shu opened her arms and tightly gripped Li Yuanxi’s sensuous back. She let out a muffled groan, her neck arched back in a mix of pain and pleasure. Li Yuanxi gripped her waist tightly. After the storm came the gentle breeze.

After her first bonding heat, Wei Shu lay in bed, her voice hoarse as she said, “I want some water.”

Her eyes were full of tears, captivating and seductive. The unintentional allure made Li Yuanxi’s heart itch.

Li Yuanxi put on some clothes, got up, and poured her a cup of warm water. She opened the small window in the wooden door to let the highly concentrated pheromones out and let some fresh air in.

After a moment of indulgence, Wei Shu felt a bit tired. She lay on her stomach, her back partially exposed. There were some pink marks on her beautiful shoulder blades. Li Yuanxi pulled the blanket up to cover her completely.

The pheromone gland on Wei Shu’s neck had been temporarily marked. The swollen gland still exuded the scent of agarwood.

Once the fever started, it would last for three days. During those three days, the heat could strike at any time.

Wei Shu looked at Li Yuanxi, whose eyes were turning red, her pheromones surging, even beginning to suppress her own. A line of text floated through her mind: Chuyi’s delayed heat has finally arrived.

Three days later, the never-ending rain finally stopped. The long-absent sun broke through the dark clouds, spilling golden light over the forest.

The cave door, which had remained closed for so long, finally opened. Li Yuanxi raised her hand to shield her eyes from the glaring sun. Squinting at the long-lost sun, she felt a sense of temporal dislocation.

Inside the cave, Wei Shu, who had simply cleaned up, was still sleeping. She was curled up on her side, facing the stone wall, wrapped in a blanket. The cave was still warm.

The long-missed swan meat was bubbling in the stone pot, releasing an irresistible aroma. Especially after adding sand ginger and lemon leaves, the swan meat smelled even more delicious.

Li Yuanxi yawned lazily. The corners of her eyes were still a little red. She had been overly worked these past two days. Her body was exhausted and needed a good meal.

A weary tear escaped the corner of Li Yuanxi’s eye. She wiped it away and looked at the bubbling meat soup in the pot. Her stomach was growling loudly.

She stood up and sat by the bed, watching the sleeping Shu Shu. She reached out and tucked a strand of long hair behind Wei Shu’s ear. She lowered her head and couldn’t resist biting Wei Shu’s red lips. Even after kissing her for three whole days, she still couldn’t get enough.

Wei Shu had a very captivating aura. When she didn’t smile, she was cool and aloof, with a sharpness in her eyebrows and eyes. When she relaxed, she became elegant and noble. She could switch between these two temperaments at will.

Wei Shu woke up around noon. She was wearing clothes. She rubbed her head. Sleeping too long had made her brain a bit tired. She turned over and sat up, feeling a bit sore.

Wei Shu threw off the covers and stood up. Her legs gave way, and she almost fell. She braced herself on the edge of the bed, gritting her teeth. Her face flushed red. She looked around the cave. Li Yuanxi was nowhere to be found.

Not seeing her lover, who had shared her heat with her, made her feel a bit uncomfortable. Her face hardened, her gaze turning cold. She slowly stood up, enduring the ache in her waist, and moved to the table.

Just then, Li Yuanxi pushed the door open and came in. She had washed the clothes they had dirtied over the past few days.

The moment she saw Wei Shu sitting at the table, her eyes lit up. “Shu Shu, you’re awake. Are you hungry?” She walked quickly to Wei Shu’s side and bent down to hug her, but Wei Shu refused.

Wei Shu blocked the person trying to hug her. “Where did you go?” she asked coolly, lifting her eyes.

Li Yuanxi scratched her head and answered honestly, “I went to wash your clothes. And your underwear.”

The mention of her underwear made Wei Shu’s face flush red again. She turned her head away awkwardly and looked at the iron pot, trying to change the subject. “I’m hungry. Let’s eat.”

As soon as Li Yuanxi heard that Shu Shu was hungry, she immediately turned around and lifted the lid of the pot. The aroma of meat spread instantly. The stewed swan meat smelled delicious. Li Yuanxi scooped up a bowl of soup for Wei Shu to warm her stomach.

She reached into the fire pit and pulled out a blackened, steaming cassava. She patiently peeled off the charred outer skin and placed the soft, starchy cassava flesh into a bowl, which she then set beside Wei Shu.

She placed the iron pot on the table, handed over the chopsticks, and sat down to eat with Wei Shu.

After the meal, Wei Shu sat outside the cave in her yellow jacket, soaking up the sun. Having just gone through her bonding heat, she didn’t feel like moving. She just wanted to sit quietly.

After both body and mind were sated, all that remained was a sense of physical laziness and fatigue.

Li Yuanxi finished washing the dishes, picked up a stool, and sat beside Wei Shu. Wei Shu closed her eyes and leaned against her. Li Yuanxi shook out a blanket and carefully wrapped it around both of them to keep it from falling on the ground and getting dirty.

The long-missed sun was so warm and dazzling. Even the sea breeze felt much gentler.

In the days that followed, the sun stayed in the sky, and the seawater around the coast began to recede steadily.

A month later, Wei Shu caught a whiff of the sea fish Li Yuanxi had cooked and couldn’t stop herself from vomiting. It was a violent bout that took a long time to subside.

Li Yuanxi’s face turned white with worry. She was terrified that something was wrong with Wei Shu’s stomach.

Wei Shu bent over, vomiting in the cave for a long time. The bitter, sour taste in her mouth made her feel even worse. Li Yuanxi held a cup of hot water to her lips. “Rinse your mouth, Shu Shu,” she said, her voice filled with concern.

Wei Shu forced a smile at Li Yuanxi. She knew Li Yuanxi was most afraid of her getting sick. “It’s okay,” she reassured her. “I think I just can’t stand the fishy smell of the sea fish.”

Wei Shu took the hot water from Li Yuanxi and rinsed her mouth. Li Yuanxi helped her to the open space outside the cave and sat her on a stool so she could breathe in the fresh air.

Sitting on the stool, Wei Shu felt a little better. The warm sunlight calmed the nausea in her stomach. As for the cooked sea fish, Li Yuanxi wolfed it down in a few bites. After she was done, she brushed her teeth with toothpaste.

Only then did she carry the pot of venison, which had been stewing all day, out of the cave. When Wei Shu reached out to take it, Li Yuanxi dodged her. Looking at Wei Shu, who still seemed uncomfortable, she said softly, “Let me feed you.”

Li Yuanxi fed Wei Shu bite by bite with her chopsticks, occasionally giving her a sip of the soup. After a bowl of venison soup, Wei Shu was full.

Li Yuanxi cleaned up the mess in the cave, her mind racing. She was wondering if Wei Shu had eaten something bad.

She recalled that sand ginger seemed to help with vomiting. She cut a piece of sand ginger and threw it into the pot to boil some ginger water. It did ease the discomfort in Wei Shu’s stomach.

In the days that followed, Wei Shu continued to vomit from time to time. She would also cry or get angry for no apparent reason.

Li Yuanxi was a bit confused as she held the sobbing Wei Shu. She didn’t know why Shu Shu was crying again. Wei Shu choked back sobs as she leaned against Li Yuanxi’s chest. “You have to tell me next time you go anywhere.”

“I was just going to the bathroom…” Li Yuanxi’s eyes flickered nervously, her voice dry. A terrible thought had crossed her mind. Could Shu Shu be pregnant?

Li Yuanxi’s mind raced. She reviewed everything that had happened recently, all of Wei Shu’s symptoms. They all pointed to the same conclusion: Wei Shu was pregnant.

The vomiting. The mood swings. The frequent crying. Sometimes she would even wake up in the middle of the night demanding to smell Li Yuanxi’s pheromones.

Li Yuanxi’s face turned pale. Panic filled her eyes. Her mind was a whirlwind of What do I do? What do I do?

She was still praying that it wasn’t pregnancy. Please, don’t let it be. Please. During the bonding heat, she had forgotten at first that she was an alpha who could impregnate Shu Shu.

So, she hadn’t been careful those first few times. Now, Li Yuanxi was filled with nothing but regret.

“What if you’re pregnant?” Li Yuanxi hugged Wei Shu tightly, her voice trembling. She turned her head, her face pale as she looked at Wei Shu, whose eyelashes were still wet with tears.

Wei Shu’s expression changed. She placed her hand on her lower abdomen and met Li Yuanxi’s gaze. Li Yuanxi’s lips were pale. She stammered, forcing out a smile that looked worse than a cry. “Maybe not, right?”

The atmosphere in the cave instantly dropped to freezing point. They both knew that possibility was very, very small. Especially considering all of Wei Shu’s symptoms over the past month.

The baby was probably about two months along. And during that time, she and Li Yuanxi had done it several more times. The last few times, Li Yuanxi had been very careful, trying to avoid the possibility of pregnancy.

But they had forgotten that during the bonding heat was when conception was most likely.

“If it’s there, then we’ll have it.” Seeing the grim expression on Wei Shu’s face, Li Yuanxi tried to smile, pretending to be calm as she comforted Wei Shu.

Wei Shu lowered her head, a little silent. She touched her lower abdomen. A little life had grown inside her without her even noticing. If they weren’t on this island, she might have been very happy, wouldn’t she?

Li Yuanxi couldn’t help it. She started crying. She held Wei Shu tight and sobbed heartbreakingly. Over and over, she whispered in Wei Shu’s ear, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, wuwuwu~~ I wish I was the one who was pregnant.”

Li Yuanxi’s loud wails were filled with nothing but self-blame and heartbreak. They pierced Wei Shu’s heart. Her tears soaked Wei Shu’s clothes. For a moment, Wei Shu didn’t know what to do.

They were in the middle of a primitive wilderness. Giving birth here was practically a death sentence. Li Yuanxi’s heart was filled with boundless self-loathing and anger. She was furious at herself for forgetting something so important.

After she finished crying, she ran out of the house. She went to the beach, where the tide had long since receded, and desperately began picking up stones to rearrange the SOS signal.

She also gathered some branches on the beach to form an SOS bonfire. After doing all this, she ran back to the cave like a madwoman. She glanced at Wei Shu, who was sleeping on the bed, and silently grabbed a burning stick of wood and ran back to the beach.

Li Yuanxi stood on the beach and lit the SOS bonfire. The roaring flames billowed thick, black smoke up into the sky.

Standing on the beach, her frantic fear finally calmed. She began to think. What could she do to keep Wei Shu safe during her pregnancy? And how could she get them both off this island?

Earlier, she had still been waiting for rescue. Now, she just wanted to tear her hair out and force herself to find a way off this damned island.

The smoke was thick on the beach. Wei Shu had gotten angry the second time Li Yuanxi ran out of the cave. She got up, furious, wanting to see what that idiot was up to. Was she trying to escape?

Standing in the clearing, Wei Shu saw the black smoke rising into the sky from the beach. She watched the smoke climb higher and higher, and a smile finally appeared on her lips.

She touched her lower abdomen. This child might not have been wanted, but it’s here now. She and Chuyi would just have to work hard to keep this child alive and healthy.

Wilderness Survival with My Nemesis

Wilderness Survival with My Nemesis

我和死对头一起荒野求生
Status: Completed Native Language: Chinese

Blurb One:

What is the greatest fortune in life?

What is the probability of surviving a plane crash?

Let me answer the second question first. It's one in a million.

The first question... the answer is dying, and then coming back to life.

Surprised? Shocked!

Li Yuanxi encountered such a surprise. Li Yuanxi also encountered such a shock!

And it was a buy-one-get-one-free deal. She casually grabbed hold of her "nemesis," initially intending to be merciful and save her. Unexpectedly, she was directly carried forward by her "nemesis," and the two of them ended up in the vast, boundless ocean.

Awakening on the sandy beach, Li Yuanxi found her hand still tightly clutching the unlucky President Wei.

Li Yuanxi, who had been "rejected" all her life, had no choice but to once again exercise the humanitarian spirit of rescue, dragging her "nemesis" back onto the shore.

From then on, Li Yuanxi activated wilderness survival mode, with a "nemesis" thrown in as a bonus.

And President Wei, unable to carry anything on her shoulders or lift anything with her hands, constantly strived to not be a freeloader.

Watch these two as they start off stumbling and bumbling, then grow to get along harmoniously, then fall in love, and finally, unashamedly "cling" to each other every day.

When a cargo ship finally passed by, everyone stared at the fair-skinned, beautiful President Wei, with her big pregnant belly, coyly hiding behind Li Yuanxi.

Blurb Two:

What is wilderness survival?

It's a place without any spark of human civilization, yet filled with the trash of human civilization.

No matter how remote the island, there will always be drifting garbage.

Li Yuanxi encountered a plane crash. To save her nemesis, she was helplessly swept out of the plane by the turbulence in the strong winds. Relying on the undulating slope created by the plane's impact on the sea, she barely managed to scrape together half a life together with her "nemesis."

From then on, Li Yuanxi was forced to "settle down" on the island with her "nemesis" – President Wei, an Omega who had zero wilderness survival experience, was physically delicate, and needed protection.

Every day, she and Wei Shu woke up with two things on their minds: filling their stomachs and praying for the rescue team to come quickly.

But somehow, at some point, the two of them just settled down on the small island. As an Alpha, Li Yuanxi has a strong physique and immense strength. She is no stranger to wilderness survival knowledge.

After all, in her past life, she was an outdoor survival blogger. She just died young – thinking about it now is a bitter memory.

She thought that in this life, having been reborn into a good family, she wouldn't need to use that knowledge again. She never imagined!!!

In the end, she still had to use it…

Wei Shu, who had no wilderness survival knowledge whatsoever, could recognize all sorts of plants. She wouldn't go into the water to catch fish, but she burned herself cooking for a feverish Li Yuanxi.

When her heat came, she could only hug Li Yuanxi, who couldn't respond to her pheromones, and sob quietly. Drenched in fragrant sweat, looking exquisitely beautiful and enticing, she bit right through Li Yuanxi's pheromone gland, forcefully injecting her own pheromones.

Li Yuanxi's response to this? Ouch!!!

Compensate me for my pheromone gland! Just because I'm "not working" doesn't mean you get to bite my gland! That's going too far!!
