Chapter 65 Part 2

The Old Master pondered for a moment. “Shu Shu said that when the plane hit the water, Li Yuanxi brought her back to the shore. Based on that, the airline might be trying to locate the broken-off nose section of the aircraft.”

“Ah! Yes! The Old Master is right.” Li Zheng and Lu Wan, who were mostly just making small talk, nodded vigorously. All of their conversation with the Old Master had revolved around their daughter’s praises of Shu Shu.

The contrast between the children was stark. Li Zheng and Lu Wan exchanged a look, consoling themselves that they couldn’t abandon their own. They continued to listen to the Old Master’s analysis and instructions for the next day.

Wei Yi and Wei Zheng returned from a long meeting with the lawyers, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the airline. The airline was insistent on seeing the survivors. But the Wei family wouldn’t budge on a single point. They set the meeting for 10:00 AM the next day out of respect for the pregnant woman’s rest schedule.

The airline agreed. Wei Xin and Wei Jing had also finalized the private jet route. But the moment the plane landed, the aviation authorities and the families of the other victims would want to meet them.

Especially for the two suitcases Li Yuanxi and Wei Shu had brought back. Inside were the ID cards and documents of the deceased, which needed to be returned to their families.

Li Yuanxi was just holding Wei Shu, about to steal a kiss, when her stomach began to growl loudly and persistently. She looked at Wei Shu with an innocent expression. “I’m hungry.”

“Wait.” Wei Shu tapped her nose and pressed the call button. The bodyguard at the door knocked. “Come in.” Wei Shu allowed them in.

A female beta bodyguard, dressed in a black suit, entered carrying a tray of food. The moment she came in and saw Li Yuanxi on the bed, her eyes sharpened immediately before relaxing. She walked slowly towards Wei Shu.

“It’s okay. She’s my Alpha, Li Yuanxi.” Wei Shu saw her tension and explained.

The female beta nodded, put down the food, and left. Li Yuanxi, smelling the food, quickly came over, grabbed a bowl of rice, and fed a mouthful to Wei Shu first before starting to eat.

They shared tag-team style, chopstick for chopstick, demolishing the four small dishes on the tray. Wei Shu, now full, leaned against Li Yuanxi. “I saw the baby today. She’s this small.”

“Hm?” Li Yuanxi swallowed her last bite, wiped her mouth clean, and leaned down to put her ear against Wei Shu’s belly, listening for the baby.

Meanwhile, the female beta bodyguard’s first act upon leaving was to report to her boss that Li Yuanxi had somehow managed to get into Miss’s room.

Upon hearing this, the Old Master gave a “benevolent” stare at the two lovebirds who were still prattling on and flattering him. So that’s why they were being so talkative today.

Li Zheng had also heard the bodyguard’s report. He gave a placating smile to his future in-law.

“Ahem, well… our girl was just really worried about Shu Shu. She just wanted to see her.” Li Zheng’s belated excuse was met with a noncommittal grunt from the Old Master.

“Understand this. Wei Shu is my youngest child. Marrying her isn’t going to be that simple.” The Old Master said this ambiguously before standing up.

The couple quickly got up and followed him. The Old Master didn’t stop them.

After all, Li Yuanxi was Shu Shu’s savior, and the person his little girl had her heart set on. He wasn’t trying to stop it. He just had a mental hurdle to get over.

Any father, whose daughter had disappeared, thought to be dead, and then miraculously returned, only to find her carrying a child… it’s hard.

He wasn’t angry, just heartbroken. His mind naturally went to the worst conclusions. Two people, an alpha and an omega, alone on an island. And Shu Shu had her bonding heat.

He forced himself to stop thinking. He was starting to want to kill someone. The Old Master took a deep breath. His child was home. That was what mattered.

When the door opened, the first thing the Old Master saw was Li Yuanxi, her head pressed against Wei Shu’s belly. At the sound of the door, they both looked up.

Wei Yi, Wei Xin, and Wei Zheng looked at Li Yuanxi with a sour feeling. They hadn’t even gotten to feel the baby kicking yet!

Wei Jing, however, was different. Apart from noting that Li Yuanxi was so dark she was practically invisible, she was genuinely impressed. Managing to survive on a deserted island with her little sister was already legendary.

Let alone the fact that she was the one who pulled her sister back from that broken plane. An Alpha like that was worthy of love. She wouldn’t stand in her little sister’s way to happiness!

“Are you planning on removing your head from my daughter’s belly?” The Old Master glared at her, his face dark. Li Yuanxi rubbed her hands together nervously, standing helplessly by Wei Shu’s side. She had always been a little intimidated by the Old Master.

“Dad~” Wei Shu’s voice was soft and cajoling as she tried to get him to stop picking on Chuyi. The Old Master, seeing he had no hold over his daughter, could only give Li Yuanxi a smile. A man who rarely smiled suddenly doing so was scarier than if he had kept frowning.

Li Yuanxi shivered and returned a wooden smile in kind. Her smile looked like she was about to cry. The others, seeing this, couldn’t help but laugh. The atmosphere in the room lightened considerably.

“Shu Shu, seeing you so well makes Auntie so happy. And thank you for fixing Chuyi’s… little problem. Both of you coming back safe and sound is the best thing I could have imagined.” Lu Wan stepped forward and took her future daughter-in-law’s hand, her voice thick with emotion.

“Auntie, don’t say that. Chuyi is the one who took care of me the most. She had the hardest time.”

Wei Shu turned to look at Li Yuanxi, who was looking a little embarrassed. She reached out and took her hand before continuing.

“On the island, she did all the hunting, all the building, all the foraging for food. When we first got there, she went looking for water and fell into a pit. She got hurt so many times, lost so much blood.”

“Every day, from the moment we opened our eyes until we went to sleep, it was always about finding food or water. That went on for a long time. We had so little. I only survived because of Chuyi.”

Wei Shu only mentioned a few small things, without describing in detail how hard their life was.

But just the constant question of what they would eat for their next meal was enough for everyone present to imagine how difficult things had been on the island.

“It wasn’t just me! Shu Shu did a lot, too. She knows all kinds of plants, what weeds can be used as medicine. All the wild vegetables we ate, Shu Shu was the one who found them.” Li Yuanxi quickly gave Wei Shu her due credit. She wouldn’t let her minimize her own contribution.

The conversation flowed freely from there. The worry that had been a knot in Wei Yi’s chest began to loosen. A hint of a smile appeared on his handsome face, and his usual brooding moodiness seemed to vanish.

The next day, the airline personnel arrived. They asked the most crucial question: where exactly did they swim back to shore from?

“What do you think happened on the plane that caused this crash?” The airline’s questioning was quite clever. On the surface, it was a simple inquiry. But if their answers deviated even slightly, they could be suspected of being involved.

“Your way of phrasing that question is leading. What do you mean by ‘what do you think caused the crash’?” The lawyer, standing by, interrupted before Wei Shu could answer.

The investigator from the airline gave an awkward smile. “Slip of the tongue. I was just asking if you heard anyone on the plane saying something about a bomb or anything like that?”

Li Yuanxi and Wei Shu both shook their heads. “It was very sudden. The plane just tilted, and then started shaking and falling. Everyone was screaming. My mind was completely blank.”

“It was all too sudden. I still don’t know why a crash like that happened. Especially on such a large plane, from such a big airline.” Wei Shu took the initiative, turning the tables.

“We are investigating the cause of this tragedy. We just need more clues. Well, thank you for your cooperation. That’s all for today.”

Seeing time was up, the airline representatives felt they had a good idea of where the front part of the plane might be and took their leave.

Only the lawyer, Li Yuanxi, and Wei Shu had been present for the questioning. After the airline left, they were discharged from the hospital and taken to their private jet.

The flight lasted eight hours. Several times, Wei Shu’s face went pale and she trembled. The trauma was still there. Li Yuanxi held her the entire time, releasing her pheromones to soothe her.

This time, the Wei family said nothing. They just watched Wei Shu, every wince and flinch touching their hearts.

Just before landing, the Old Master received a call from his housekeeper. He turned to the two young women, who were supporting each other. “Be prepared. The media and the airline are ready. One wants to question you, the other wants to interview you.”

Li Yuanxi and Wei Shu exchanged a look and nodded. “We understand, Dad. Don’t worry.”

Some families of the victims, unable to give up hope, were waiting at the airport. They kept asking the staff when the plane would arrive, hoping that the survivors might be their own loved ones.

Li Yuanxi and Wei Shu were escorted by bodyguards and airport security. The media followed them, thrusting microphones forward. “Can you tell us how you survived?”

Neither answered. The lawyer spoke directly into the microphones. “There will be a detailed interview process later. Please be patient and refrain from causing trouble for others. Thank you.”

When the families saw the two faces, their hopes were dashed. They turned away, sitting in their chairs, staring blankly. Some sat with glazed eyes, fixed on the exit, as if expecting their own loved one to walk out at any moment.

Wilderness Survival with My Nemesis

我和死对头一起荒野求生
Status: Completed Native Language: Chinese

Blurb One:

What is the greatest fortune in life?

What is the probability of surviving a plane crash?

Let me answer the second question first. It's one in a million.

The first question... the answer is dying, and then coming back to life.

Surprised? Shocked!

Li Yuanxi encountered such a surprise. Li Yuanxi also encountered such a shock!

And it was a buy-one-get-one-free deal. She casually grabbed hold of her "nemesis," initially intending to be merciful and save her. Unexpectedly, she was directly carried forward by her "nemesis," and the two of them ended up in the vast, boundless ocean.

Awakening on the sandy beach, Li Yuanxi found her hand still tightly clutching the unlucky President Wei.

Li Yuanxi, who had been "rejected" all her life, had no choice but to once again exercise the humanitarian spirit of rescue, dragging her "nemesis" back onto the shore.

From then on, Li Yuanxi activated wilderness survival mode, with a "nemesis" thrown in as a bonus.

And President Wei, unable to carry anything on her shoulders or lift anything with her hands, constantly strived to not be a freeloader.

Watch these two as they start off stumbling and bumbling, then grow to get along harmoniously, then fall in love, and finally, unashamedly "cling" to each other every day.

When a cargo ship finally passed by, everyone stared at the fair-skinned, beautiful President Wei, with her big pregnant belly, coyly hiding behind Li Yuanxi.

Blurb Two:

What is wilderness survival?

It's a place without any spark of human civilization, yet filled with the trash of human civilization.

No matter how remote the island, there will always be drifting garbage.

Li Yuanxi encountered a plane crash. To save her nemesis, she was helplessly swept out of the plane by the turbulence in the strong winds. Relying on the undulating slope created by the plane's impact on the sea, she barely managed to scrape together half a life together with her "nemesis."

From then on, Li Yuanxi was forced to "settle down" on the island with her "nemesis" – President Wei, an Omega who had zero wilderness survival experience, was physically delicate, and needed protection.

Every day, she and Wei Shu woke up with two things on their minds: filling their stomachs and praying for the rescue team to come quickly.

But somehow, at some point, the two of them just settled down on the small island. As an Alpha, Li Yuanxi has a strong physique and immense strength. She is no stranger to wilderness survival knowledge.

After all, in her past life, she was an outdoor survival blogger. She just died young – thinking about it now is a bitter memory.

She thought that in this life, having been reborn into a good family, she wouldn't need to use that knowledge again. She never imagined!!!

In the end, she still had to use it…

Wei Shu, who had no wilderness survival knowledge whatsoever, could recognize all sorts of plants. She wouldn't go into the water to catch fish, but she burned herself cooking for a feverish Li Yuanxi.

When her heat came, she could only hug Li Yuanxi, who couldn't respond to her pheromones, and sob quietly. Drenched in fragrant sweat, looking exquisitely beautiful and enticing, she bit right through Li Yuanxi's pheromone gland, forcefully injecting her own pheromones.

Li Yuanxi's response to this? Ouch!!!

Compensate me for my pheromone gland! Just because I'm "not working" doesn't mean you get to bite my gland! That's going too far!!
