Chapter 93: The Supreme Dao Hall
Mingyan and Yue Qingying left the Wind Spirit Moon Shadow Sacred Land’s camp and went to the Huang family’s camp with Huang Feiyan.
Ning Feixuan was also there and nodded at them.
Mingyan looked up at Standing Sword Peak. At its summit, he saw a white hall, radiating a faint glow. Cultivators had already climbed the peak and were waiting outside the hall for the Supreme Dao Hall to open.
The four of them didn’t hesitate and ascended Standing Sword Peak.
The peak resembled a divine sword plunged into the earth, its side a sharp blade. The only way to ascend was to fly. Mingyan, at the Yin Tomb Realm, couldn’t fly, but Yue Qingying could carry him.
The summit was the sword’s hilt, flat and suitable for standing.
They reached the top and found many people already gathered before the Supreme Dao Hall.
The hall didn’t look very large, seemingly only able to accommodate a few dozen people, but the space inside was surely much larger than it appeared.
Mingyan looked around and saw many people observing them. The little Kun Peng king glared at him, a cold smile on his lips. Other young geniuses he didn’t recognize also looked at him. Seeing his Yin Tomb Realm cultivation, some showed expressions of surprise.
The geniuses here, including the peak Divine Gate Realm Gu Hanshuang, were all powerful. Without a certain level of cultivation, no one would dare come here and be humiliated. The weakest cultivators here were at the Qi Sea Realm. Why was there a Yin Tomb Realm cultivator here? It was very strange.
But only the newcomers from the Northern Continent showed such surprise. The news of Mingyan defeating the little Kun Peng king had spread, and the people of the Southern Continent were familiar with his name. And during his encounter with Gu Hanshuang, his phenomenon had appeared, leaving a deep impression on them.
Gu Hanshuang was also here, her sword on her back, standing alone. She noticed his gaze and looked over, her expression cold, then quickly lost interest and looked away.
She probably thought his cultivation was too low to be a worthy opponent. Mingyan looked away. He wondered if he would have to fight her inside. If so, he would have to be fully prepared. She was the most terrifying of his peers. A battle between them was inevitable, if not now, then later.
His master had expectations of him, hoping he would be invincible among his peers. If he couldn’t defeat her, how could he achieve that?
He looked back at the Supreme Dao Hall. It radiated a faint, comfortable glow.
Ancient runes were carved on its surface, shimmering with a mystical light, their simple lines forming complex laws.
The glow intensified, and more and more people flew up from the foot of the mountain, waiting for the hall to open. Some, impatient, tried to get closer to the entrance but were stopped. “Fellow Daoist, don’t be reckless. The Supreme Dao Hall will release a burst of energy when it opens. Getting too close could get you injured.”
Mingyan understood. That was why everyone was keeping their distance.
“Junior Brother, we might be teleported to different places when we enter. Hold my hand so we don’t get separated.” Yue Qingying whispered to him. “The Supreme Dao Hall is vast. If we get separated, it will be difficult to find each other again.”
Mingyan nodded. “I understand, Senior Sister.”
The glow from the Supreme Dao Hall became blindingly bright. With a “clang,” the doors opened a crack, releasing a brilliant light and a terrifying wave of energy. But Standing Sword Peak remained unshaken.
The energy wave dissipated quickly. The doors slowly opened, revealing a dark, empty space. Gu Hanshuang, with her sword on her back, stepped inside and vanished. Mingyan and the others didn’t linger and quickly followed.
The other geniuses were also fast, entering the hall the moment the energy wave dissipated.
Inside, the light returned. Mingyan realized he had entered another dimension, where the laws were different.
The spiritual energy here was incredibly dense, even more so than in the Sacred Lands and prominent families, and it was ancient spiritual energy, similar to that in spirit stones. Mingyan was surprised. But he had already passed the Spring Opening Realm. No matter how dense the energy, it wouldn’t accelerate his cultivation. It would only allow him to quickly recover his energy during battle.
Everyone who had entered was here, on what seemed to be a vast grassland. Mingyan had held Yue Qingying’s hand as they entered, and she had held Huang Feiyan’s, who in turn had held Ning Feixuan’s. The four of them had landed together.
This was like another world. There was no sun or moon, but it was brightly lit. They seemed to be in a mountain range, which surprised Mingyan. This was different from what he had imagined.
“We’ll be here for a month,” Yue Qingying said. “I hope we can gain something from this.”
This was a small world. The Supreme Dao Hall would remain open for a month. During this time, the cultivators inside would seek their own opportunities. This small world contained many laws inscribed by the Great Emperors, and even apparitions of them demonstrating secret techniques. There was much to be gained.
Although it was called a small world, it was still vast. The four of them walked for a while but didn’t encounter any other cultivators.
“There are also ferocious beasts here.” Ning Feixuan’s eyes flickered. She sensed a strong life force in the forest.
“This is a trial ground arranged by the Great Dao. If you’re not careful, you can die here,” Huang Feiyan said. “I heard from my mother that our ancestors once encountered Tai Yi and Divine Seal Realm beasts here.”
“Tai Yi and Divine Seal…” Mingyan frowned. The strongest among them was Gu Hanshuang, at the peak of the Divine Gate Realm. If they encountered beasts of that level, they would have to be extremely cautious.
Even Gu Hanshuang would have to be careful, let alone the other Qi Sea Realm geniuses. Here, an early Qi Sea Realm cultivator wasn’t even considered a genius.
“We need to be careful,” Yue Qingying smiled. “But with the four of us together, the danger will be greatly reduced.”
