Chapter 19: Anger
“I’m sorry… I’m sorry…”
The boy’s body in her arms grew colder. Blood trickled from his wound, unstoppable, until it was almost dry.
She was helpless. Tears welled up in her eyes and flowed down her cheeks. The cold liquid woke her up in reality. She suddenly opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling. Fortunately, all she saw was a reassuring white…
Su Xi sighed in relief, but her tear ducts seemed to be broken, and tears continued to flow.
“You… what’s wrong? Did you have a nightmare?”
Su Yu was woken up by the girl’s movements. The other party’s state made him a little uneasy. He frowned and looked at Su Xi with some concern.
“Nothing. I just dreamed of something bad.”
Su Xi stiffly pushed Su Yu away and sat up from the bed. “I’ll go get a glass of water and give you your medicine.”

Su Xi walked barefoot on the clear and cold floor. The blue veins on her instep were faintly visible, and her feet were as transparent as if they had no color. She quickly came back with a glass of water, a few capsules in her palm.
She looked down at Su Yu’s dazed expression, her eyes dark and gloomy, not reflecting the boy’s shadow. She deliberately held the glass of water in front of the boy, but unlike before, she didn’t hold it to his lips. She watched as the other party very restrainedly did not habitually take the glass. She curled her lips and suddenly let go of the glass.
The glass, which was full of water, fell from the air, its speed increasing. A few large drops of water uncontrollably splashed out of the rim. Su Yu’s limbs, which had regained some strength after a night’s sleep, were a little out of control for a moment. He subconsciously raised his arm, but he suddenly realized the obvious probing behind this urgency.
His long-relaxed nerves were clearly unable to complete the command from his brain in time. His hand stopped in mid-air, and he watched as the glass fell on the bed. The cold tap water stained a large patch of the bedding a dark color.
Su Yu looked for a few seconds, then looked up and met Su Xi’s gaze. The other party’s eyes were numb and cold. This was a look of indifference that the other party had never shown him before.
“You have strength now?” Su Xi picked up the glass, her voice as cold as if it had lost its temperature. “Since you have strength, then go. I really shouldn’t have believed you.”
“I… I can’t be paralyzed in bed for the rest of my life. You might as well just kill me.” Su Yu looked away, and for the first time, he actually wanted to explain something. “We have to talk things out.”

Su Xi lowered her head and laughed, her eyes upturned, a hint of mocking contempt in them. It seemed that the magical experience of these past few days was all Su Yu’s personal fantasy.
