The doctor’s light and airy words were like a basin full of water being placed on top of Yu Jiang’s head.

As the sound fell, the basin flipped over—

Splash.

The faint shyness reflected on Yu Jiang’s face was scattered by the water.

She was very surprised. “Acting cute? You mean my friend was faking her headaches these past few times? And the purpose was just to act cute with me?”

The doctor patiently repeated her diagnosis.

“Yes. Based on the results, your friend’s body is very healthy. Logically speaking, she shouldn’t be having problems with headaches, so I think there’s a high probability she’s faking it.”

Chu Qingzi was standing quietly outside the door, waiting with a bottle of water.

Seeing Yu Jiang come out, she asked with a composed expression, “What did you go back to ask the doctor, baby?”

The illness was Chu Qingzi’s, so it couldn’t be hidden.

Yu Jiang didn’t reveal the full content of their conversation, but instead handed the decision over to her.

“Frequent headaches are no small matter, Qingzi. I’m still not at ease. Since this hospital can’t find anything, let’s go to a better one tomorrow and get checked again, okay?”

Chu Qingzi’s docile attitude was flawless. “Okay, whatever you say, baby. Let’s go see the movie first. When we get home later, I’ll schedule a new check-up.”

Passing through the corridor, the two of them went out through the nearest side door.

Chu Qingzi had returned to her gentle self.

The long roots at her feet disappeared.

Yu Jiang, having regained control of her own body, calmly accepted the fact that she had been deceived.

She neither angrily rebuked Chu Qingzi for lying, nor did she walk away and leave her without a word.

“Then we can go see the movie.” The large stone pressing on her heart was finally removed, and Yu Jiang could finally relax.

“Baby, I want to hug you now.”
