Chapter 15: The Ice Dragon Princess
Just as she had entered, Yier Meng flipped herself back out over the balcony.
This time, however, though she landed lightly on her feet, there was a non-human girl standing below, staring straight at her with an icy expression.
She had pointed horns, long hair that shimmered with a translucent, ice-blue luster in the sunlight, and a pair of ice-blue eyes set within her stunningly beautiful features.
Yier Meng had seen the characteristics of this race before. If she had to say, it was the look of the Ice Dragon clan.
“A dragon?”
Evidently, this remark displeased the girl.
She simply raised her chin haughtily, her scornful gaze sweeping over the distance between the window Yier Meng had jumped from and the ground where she landed.
“Are all humans this rude?”
The disdain in her voice was not hard to miss. The sarcastic tone was self-evident, but given that her actions clearly resembled a thief climbing through a window, Yier Meng felt a sense of helplessness. It was like you were trying to do a good deed, helping an old person up, only to be blamed for pushing them down and told to take responsibility.
So, Yier Meng could only say, “I’m probably a special case. Well, I’ll be on my way then.”
But it was clear that while Yier Meng wanted to leave, the ice dragon girl had no intention of letting her.
“Wait. You can leave, but not before you explain what you were doing here.” Her vermilion lips parted slightly as the cold-faced ice dragon girl continued, “Although I’m not one of you humans, I distinctly remember the school rules forbidding students from doing this. Could it be that you’re not a student at this school?”
The ice dragon girl’s meaning was clear: she considered Yier Meng a suspicious person. After all, she herself was wearing the Holy Light Academy’s uniform, but Yier Meng was not.
“I am indeed not a student at this school…”
Yier Meng nodded.
But just as she was about to explain further, an ice spike shot directly toward her calf, and a bone-chilling cold exploded against her leg.
Frost instantly froze half her leg, fixing her to the spot. Her slightly raised foot was frozen in place before she could even pull it back. This left her stunned, as if she hadn’t yet understood the ice dragon girl’s intentions.
“I advise you not to move. Otherwise, next time it won’t just be your leg, but your head.”
The ice dragon girl’s cold, draconic pupils narrowed as she glared at Yier Meng, threatening her fiercely.
This time, she was truly speechless.
Yier Meng had originally intended to explain things properly. After all, if this student was non-human, then she was very likely a student of Class 2-1—one of the very students she would be teaching in the future. Being treated with such suspicion by someone who was quite possibly her own student left Yier Meng with a strange feeling.
“Um, I’m a teacher here.”
She opened her mouth, attempting to explain.
But just as Yier Meng was about to say more, a figure appeared beside her, and a dispel magic circle suddenly materialized at her feet, dissipating the ice.
Ah, what a headache.
A single glance confirmed it was Elise. After all, she had been watching her jump down the whole time. This time, however, she was properly dressed in her school uniform, not just the bathrobe from before.
“Hey! Eirya Imris Yongdong! What do you think you’re doing to my teacher?”
And the two of them just so happened to know each other. At least, from the moment Elise recognized the ice dragon girl’s identity and accurately called out her name, Yier Meng knew they were definitely classmates. After all, Elise had said at the very beginning that she basically didn’t interact with anyone at the school. So, for them to know each other under these circumstances, the only remaining possibility was that they were classmates.
