Chapter 16: Confrontation
The debut of Class 2-1’s new teacher began with a dispute at the girls’ dormitory.
And judging by Elise’s current attitude, she was clearly about to fight the ice dragon girl, Eirya.
Speaking of which, Eirya Imris Yongdong… she felt like she’d heard the surname “Yongdong” somewhere before. That’s right, her ministers had discussed it with her once. She remembered that in the Dragon Kingdom, the surname Yongdong belonged to the Ice Dragon Princess.
Unlike the human race, which could change kings several times over a single short lifetime, the dragons were just like the elves.
Bloodline represented absolute authority.
And today, the princesses of two different kingdoms were about to fight over Yier Meng. This was a bit too much of an honor, wasn’t it?
“Teacher?”
Evidently, Eirya’s stance was softening.
“You’re saying this white-haired woman is your teacher?”
Her expression held a trace of surprise. To be a teacher at the Holy Light Academy, one was naturally no common good-for-nothing. Hearing Elise’s form of address for Yier Meng, she didn’t doubt it in the slightest. This was different from when she had listened to Yier Meng’s own explanation; it seemed Eirya’s attitude toward Elise was somewhat different.
Her attitude changed so quickly that if they weren’t both girls, Yier Meng would have suspected that this ice dragon princess was in love with the elf princess.
“Hmph!”
In response, Elise merely let out a soft huff.
Her feelings toward her teacher were unlike those of an ordinary student. Just as her teacher knew her secret and kept her mouth shut, so too would she.
It seemed Elise had already forgotten how she had initially disdained Yier Meng. Perhaps even Yier Meng herself hadn’t expected her treatment to be so remarkably effective. In Elise’s heart, she held only gratitude for Yier Meng, along with something that was gradually beginning to sprout.
“But if you say she’s a teacher, I’ve never seen her in any of our classes.”
This was clearly the issue that puzzled Eirya more.
Although she had referred to Yier Meng as “this white-haired woman,” she had to admit that Yier Meng’s beauty was second to none, not just among humans, but among all humanoid races. That soft, slender body, that waist-length hair that swayed gently in the wind… even though her eyes were a rare red, they were filled with an otherworldly beauty.
Those eyes were absolutely among the most beautiful red eyes Eirya had ever seen.
Of course, Elise was one of the others. But the elf princess’s beauty carried a hint of purity, an aloofness toward outsiders, and a pitiable sincerity deep within her heart.
Yier Meng’s eyes, however, were filled with the texture of amber. Within them lay too many experiences that roared like a tempestuous sea. Just looking into her eyes was enough to make one become intoxicated, lost in their depths and reluctant to leave.
Eirya liked her eyes because they seemed to let her see page after page of a legendary historical scroll.
One could say that if Yier Meng’s actions hadn’t been so bizarre, Eirya would have acted differently. She had actually seen Yier Meng jump up from the very beginning, but had been waiting below, hesitating, wondering if she should follow suit. In the end, however, she hadn’t.
So, when Yier Meng jumped down again, she immediately confronted her in the most direct way possible. And when she heard Yier Meng herself admit that she wasn’t a student here, something inside her just snapped.
