51. Loss of Freedom
Suddenly, Reina felt a warm sensation emanating from her belly, spreading throughout her body. She subconsciously touched her swollen belly, feeling a significant difference from before.
—It must have gotten bigger!
But how could it have just been a slight bulge a few days ago, and now it was almost time to give birth?
She wiped her tears with one hand and frantically pounded on Calysia’s chest with the other, while also crying out:
“This, this is only a few months, how long have I been asleep?”
“It hasn’t even been half a year since I came to this world, right?”
“Is, is the dragon egg about to be born?”
“Is it really okay for the dragon egg to be born so early?”
—Is this the consequence of studying prenatal care?! Could it be that emotional instability refers to this matter?
“Reina slept for 11 days… these days, you haven’t woken up.”
Reina was enlightened—so it had been that long.
No wonder the dragon egg had grown so much…
And it felt quite comfortable. These past few days, had Calysia been feeding her?
“The incubation time for each dragon egg is different, and the time spent in the belly is also different, perhaps…” Calysia said excitedly, leaning against the bed.
She quietly pressed her face against Reina’s belly, carefully listening to the rhythm inside the dragon egg, and then nodded in surprise.
“Perhaps in a month, the dragon baby will come out of your belly, and Reina can incubate the egg!”
Incubate the egg? She couldn’t be more familiar with this term.
Most dragon baby embryos developed in dragon eggs, but with the evolution and development of the dragon race, incubating eggs had become a particularly important step in the dragon race’s concept of love. Reina needed to use her own temperature and even magic power to turn the area beside her body into a warm and comfortable little nest.
But that was only her understanding from books!
Reina suddenly remembered that her original plan was to find an opportunity to leave Calysia after laying the dragon egg, and at that time, let her establish a complete set of values and a concept of love. But now it seemed that Calysia’s obsession was hopeless, and the biggest obstacle to her plan was not only “for Calysia’s good ending,” but also her own eyes.
Of course, now, those obsessions and plans seemed to be a thing of the past, but this couldn’t change an important fact:
—She couldn’t go anywhere, and from now on, she had to incubate and lay eggs for Calysia!
Thinking of this, Reina cried even louder, her voice even louder than any time before.
Because she had to face the dragon egg and the child, as a mother, she had to do everything perfectly!
She didn’t want to become Calysia’s baby-making machine!
Reina figured this out and felt that she had lost a lot.
“Sob, sob, sob…”
She sat on the bed in a duck-like posture, propping herself up with her hands, and cried loudly like a child.
Seeing Reina crying so sadly, Calysia could only pat her head. And then, as if struck by a sudden idea, she said with a smile:
“Little Vassal, let me help you incubate the egg.”
“What?”
Hearing this, Reina suddenly stopped crying. She stared at Calysia with hostile eyes, although her two hands still hadn’t left her body, and her eyes were shimmering with tears of humiliation.
“What’s your motive?”
“Hmm?” Calysia didn’t understand.
“Are you going to snatch the dragon egg away?”
Reina asked again, and this question completely dumbfounded Calysia.
Reina herself was also strange, but she couldn’t care less.
“Incubating the egg… only I can… I won’t let you incubate it…”
“Is that so…”
Calysia blinked with disappointment.
Only then did Reina retract her vigilance and say softly:
“Letting you touch it a couple of times… isn’t out of the question…”
She began to think that Calysia was also a contributor to her dragon egg, strictly speaking, the mother who contributed half of the genes. She should also have the right to incubate the egg.
Thinking of this, Reina suddenly felt that she could accept Calysia incubating the egg, but the premise was that she had to be there to supervise… this clumsy person definitely had no experience, so it had to be her.
“Reina is so cute…”
“What’s wrong?”
“The way you want to say you’re a dummy, but still try hard to incubate the egg for me, is so cute…”
Hearing Calysia’s comments, Reina puffed out her cheeks in anger again.
Isn’t this all for you?
She’s taking advantage of me!
Reina suddenly realized a serious problem.
She had to incubate the egg.
But this way, she couldn’t leave Calysia…
She had always thought that she was managing Calysia, making her do things for her, or completing certain tasks according to her goals, and so far, she had been very successful. Calysia was a dummy who couldn’t leave her, and her emotions were easily controlled, a perfect puppet.
But thinking about it from another perspective, it was because of the dragon egg that Reina didn’t want Calysia to leave her side.
Who couldn’t leave whom?
Who was the puppet?
Reina subconsciously began to think about this question.
If no one was a puppet, then why couldn’t they leave each other?
—Could it be that I’ve really fallen for Calysia?
“…”
There was a reason why her Dragon Mark had been upgrading.
Just as she was thinking about this, Calysia had already covered her with the quilt, her body still retaining her scent.
“I won’t leave you,” Calysia said.
Reina was briefly dazed.
Although she couldn’t see anything, she felt as if she could see Calysia’s sweet smile. Although Calysia was always paying attention to her, which made Reina satisfied, she suddenly remembered that the main door of the bedchamber had been locked with a railing.
That must be the “cage” Calysia had prepared for her. But to avoid being separated from Calysia, she had to choose to cook for herself, otherwise, that instinctive sadness would destroy her rationality again and make her cry out loud.
“Little Cal…”
Reina asked cautiously.
“Hmm?”
“Can I… leave the bedchamber?”
“…”
“…No.”
Reina never expected Calysia to refuse. Then, this Dragon King actually started to lick her body, from top to bottom, stopping at the protrusion on Reina’s chest.
“You’re pregnant now. The dragon egg will be born soon. Do you still want to do things that will harm yourself?”
Calysia touched her tail:
“You’ve already paid so much. During this time, just focus on giving birth to the dragon whelp. So, I can’t let you go out casually.”
“Reina, I love you so much.”
“Ever since you said those words, I’ve found that I love you even more.”
“So much that I can’t refuse you at all, which is why I took action.”
“What dragons dislike most is their prey escaping. You are my prey, so naturally, I have to imprison you here.”
Reina felt that she had done something wrong from the very beginning.
My words, have they backfired and deepened her obsession?
Doesn’t this mean I’ve completely lost my freedom?
How can Reina be so smart but still have no idea she fell for Cal so long ago? They are gonna be old ladies and Reina will still be asking “wait! Do I love her??”
