19 Chapter 22 Part 3

Shen Su was missing a stretch of her memories.

No matter how hard she tried to recall, the only conclusion she could draw was that she had amnesia. To make matters worse, strange occurrences began piling up one after another in the wake of her memory loss. Even her estranged "father," who had always been cold to her in the past, suddenly showed up with overflowing warmth and care—and brought home an extraordinarily beautiful stepmother.

Her stepmother’s name was Wei Nanyi. She was frail and delicate, like the shard of jade porcelain Shen Su constantly held and turned over in her palm—as though the slightest pressure might shatter her between one’s fingers.

Her "father" was exceptionally eager, and her stepmother treated her with painstaking gentleness. But Shen Su quickly realized that both of them were impostors. In fact, neither of them seemed entirely human.

Shen Su wanted to see just how long this fake couple intended to keep up their act. But that day, Wei Nanyi caught a monster trying to devour Shen Su in the dead of night with a single hand, tore the human skin right off the fake father before her eyes, and gently gathered Shen Su into her arms:
