Chapter 15: Lu Li Says (Part 2)
“Senior Luochuan!”
“Luochuan!”
Seeing Bai Luochuan buried in petals, the lackeys from the School of Liberal Arts swarmed up, some digging through the pile of petals, others cursing at the back of the three trucks. The truck drivers helplessly lit a cigarette. There was nothing they could do; the boss had told them to do it, and he had paid them too much.
Chu Jingyi covered her mouth, her face full of surprise. The visual impact of three truckloads of petals pouring down was still extremely shocking. Although she knew in her heart that Bai Luochuan wouldn’t be injured, she still broke out in a sweat. Suddenly, Chu Jingyi realized something, looked up and around, her beautiful eyes darting, as if looking for someone.
“Bai Luochuan of the Capital University School of Liberal Arts!” A voice came from a loudspeaker somewhere. “Despicable and shameless, with a chaotic private life. Bai Luochuan shot up from the pile of petals. “Who! Who’s talking nonsense! Who!”
“Bai Luochuan, you listen to me!” the voice continued. “Chu Jingyi is my fiancée! You are thick-skinned and shameless, showing your love for an engaged woman; you are unlearned and untalented, calling yourself a talent just because of your relationship with a certain writer, when in fact, what you write is complete nonsense; you are insatiably corrupt, having repeatedly embezzled club funds, deceiving the school’s logistics staff, and using the embezzled funds to live a life of debauchery!”
Chu Jingyi’s fiancé?!… Bai Luochuan’s pupils constricted. He had vaguely heard something about this, but he had thought it was just Chu Jingyi’s excuse.
“Nonsense! Who’s spreading rumors! If you have the guts, come out!” Bai Luochuan’s face was flushed red. He looked at the onlooking students and school staff. “Don’t believe him! This person is talking nonsense!”
“You want evidence! I’ll give you evidence!”
Several small drones flew out from the top of the academic building, buzzing over the open space at the school gate, scattering A4 papers. Bai Luochuan took an A4 paper, his face ashen. He saw that the paper was densely written with his dirty laundry, including the chat records with that girl who had had an abortion. For a moment, he heard everyone whispering, pointing at him, their gazes gradually becoming indescribable.
The other party has come prepared… Bai Luochuan’s mind was spinning. He felt as if he had suddenly been hit by a major earthquake. His lackeys were still loyal to him. “Senior Luochuan! Let’s retreat first! After we get back, we’ll investigate who’s spreading the rumors!” Bai Luochuan’s face was ashen, and he said nothing. Just as the lackeys were about to pull Bai Luochuan away, two figures appeared on the roof of the truck that had previously dumped the petals. One was, of course, Lu Li, and the other was Lu Li’s former subordinate, Secretary Hu.
“Smash them!” Lu Li stood with his back to the light, leaving only a black shadow in front of Bai Luochuan.

The lackeys beside Bai Luochuan subconsciously covered their heads to protect themselves, but soon, they found that what was hitting them were bundles of cash. Cold sweat dripped from Bai Luochuan’s forehead. He suddenly realized how unfair this world was. He looked at the cash on the ground. Although they were all one-yuan notes, there were too many of them… so many that he even wanted to pick them up.
Suddenly, a bundle of cash was accurately thrown at his face. Bai Luochuan’s eyes moved. He saw that only this bundle was a thick stack of hundred-yuan bills. His Adam’s apple bobbed. How much was in this bundle? Ten thousand? The club funds he had embezzled were only sixty-five thousand, and he had been so careful and on edge the whole time. His family was not short of money, but his demand for cash was too great. To get into the writers’ association, he had to pay his “master” a monthly tribute; to pick up women, he had to buy luxury goods to adorn himself; and to maintain his reputation, he had a considerable sum of hush money every month. He didn’t dare to tell his family, so he could only find ways to get money at school.
Another bundle of hundred-yuan bills was thrown. The eyes of the lackeys beside him lit up, and they went to grab the cash that had fallen at Bai Luochuan’s feet. Bai Luochuan kicked him away, no longer caring about the gazes of others, and madly went to grab the hundred-yuan bills on the ground.
Lu Li sneered. He turned to Secretary Hu and said, “This is what they mean by ‘a scholar is useless.'”
“Lu Li!” Chu Jingyi was calling him, overjoyed. The little girl no longer had any sympathy or pity for Bai Luochuan and the others. Seeing their ugly state, she only felt they had gotten what they deserved. From now on, Bai Luochuan would have no place in Capital University, and the title of the number one talent of the School of Liberal Arts would cease to exist.
Although Lu Li really wanted to go and hug his little sweetheart, he still had to put on a full show. He looked around and, seeing that the onlookers were as silent as cicadas in winter, he finally jumped down from the truck to greet the trotting Chu Jingyi.
“Lu Li!” The Silly Goose rushed into Lu Li’s arms, crying with joy. “That’s great! Thank you! Lu Li!” The happiest thing is that when you need the other person, they can always appear in time. Right now, she just wanted to rely on Lu Li with all her heart and not think about anything else.
Lu Li said gently, “My little sweetheart was scared. Let’s go. Take me for a walk around Capital University.”
“Okay~ I’ll listen to whatever you say~” Lu Li had no doubt that if he asked this little girl to change her surname to Lu now, she would foolishly agree.

“I’ve actually always wanted to do this,” Lu Li said on the pedestrian street outside Capital University, holding Chu Jingyi’s hand. “Just to throw money at people. Lu Li did indeed have this desire in his heart. He wanted to temporarily cast aside his gentle and refined cloak and be a domineering bully, to arrogantly slap the faces of those ignorant fools. He had had this impulse with Wen You back then, but it was a pity that in the end, Wen You had been scolded away by Baili.
Shortly after he arrived in the Capital City, the information on Bai Luochuan was delivered to him. Using the Yan family’s intelligence system to investigate Bai Luochuan was like using a cannon to shoot a mosquito. Lu Li had even found out that he wasn’t actually his old man’s biological son. He didn’t plan on personally punishing Bai Luochuan. He would just send different pieces of evidence to different people, and then Bai Luochuan would naturally get what he deserved.
“Am I being too vulgar?” Recalling the three truckloads of rose petals, the flyers flying everywhere, and the scene of throwing money at people, Lu Li turned to look at the Silly Goose. He saw the Silly Goose staring at her intently, her smile more brilliant than a flower.
“Vulgar!” she said with a smile.
Lu Li looked crestfallen. “Then is it too tacky?”
“Tacky!” she still smiled.
“Then isn’t this trope too cliché?”
“Cliché!”
“Will you dislike it?”
The Silly Goose squeezed his hand tightly. “I like it! As long as it’s you, I like whatever you do…” Her face turned a little red. “Bring your ear closer. I’ll tell you a secret.”
Lu Li leaned down and heard the Silly Goose say in a soft and glutinous voice, “Lu Li, I like you the most…”
