Chapter 95: Heading to Yunhai
This was the feeling of controlling life and death. Xi Meng and Li Linger finally understood. No need to worry about what others thought, no need to fear men’s threats, because they were the threat.
With the last gunshot, a wisp of smoke curled from the shell casing and fell onto a corpse.
Tang Ze, holding his saber, was spattered with blood, his eyes devoid of emotion, like a soulless killing machine.
The women looked at Tang Ze amidst the corpses, their eyes filled with a strange mixture of fascination and worship.
Since the apocalypse began, they had seen too many different men: good men, selfish men, cruel men. He seemed to possess all these qualities.
At first, they had been repulsed, constantly thinking of how to escape his clutches. But now, they didn’t want to escape. They wanted to stay with this terrifying, mesmerizing man.
Tang Ze didn’t look at them, didn’t care what they were thinking. He stuck his saber into a nearby corpse and lit a cigarette.
A wisp of smoke curled up. He pulled out the saber and vaguely saw more vehicles approaching.
“It’s not over yet.”
He reminded them calmly.
The women snapped out of it and started counting their ammunition.
A new round of slaughter was about to begin. Gradually, the road was covered with corpses, like a gate to hell.
The villa district was a prime target for looters. By the time Tang Ze had killed his way to the gate, blood had already flowed outside. Now, no one dared to enter. Seeing the corpses inside, they knew it was bad news.
Although they fantasized about the supplies and beautiful women inside, their lives were more important. They could loot other places just as well.
So, convoys of cars would arrive at the villa gate, but as soon as they saw the bodies, they would immediately turn around and leave.
Tang Ze and his group returned to the villa, still in a state of excitement.
“Who’s in first place?”
He asked, drinking water.
Li Linger excitedly reported, “I killed 109.”
“Impressive. What about you all?”
Xi Meng said apologetically, “I forgot to count.”
“I forgot too.”
Ye Qingyi echoed.
Looking at An Bai and Sun Ting, they also shrugged. Li Linger understood. “My sisters let me win.”
“Then you can’t let them down. What’s your wish?”
Tang Ze was surprised. They had given the chance to a newcomer, especially a woman as calculating as Xi Meng.
Li Linger hadn’t even thought she could win. She was a bit stunned.
“Linger, hurry up and say it.”
An Bai said with a smile, curious about her wish. Whatever she wished for, Master would surely grant it.
“I… I want… I want Master to love me one more time.”
After saying it, she wished she could bury herself in a pile of corpses, her face flushed red.
The four women were stunned, then burst into cheers, shouting, “Linger, you’re so good at pleasing Master! We underestimated you!”
Tang Ze was also surprised, but he pulled her into his arms. “Alright.”
Li Linger buried her head in his chest, even though it was stained with blood.
It felt like if he went to hell, she would go with him. Although they had only known each other for a day, it felt like a lifetime. He was the man who had changed her life.
Tang Ze was quite fond of a girl like Li Linger, but he had to treat them all equally.
That night, he gained 3% on his energy bar, which left the girls so exhausted they couldn’t even lift a finger.
A ray of harsh sunlight made Tang Ze frown and instinctively turn over.
Two seconds later, he snapped his eyes open, looking at the familiar yet strange bedroom and the sunlight streaming in.
It felt like he was back before the apocalypse, getting up to deliver food.
He raised his hand and touched the sunlight. It felt the same as before. Was the apocalypse over?
A gunshot made him pause. He got up and went to the window. The road was covered with corpses, and he could vaguely see a few figures sneaking around the villas. Sun Ting was shooting at them.
He rolled his sore neck. He hadn’t gotten much rest last night, working until after seven in the morning before sleeping. It was already four in the afternoon.
Downstairs, he saw Li Linger cooking, An Bai helping with the vegetables, and Ye Qingyi and Xi Meng loading magazines. Everyone had a specific task.
“Up so early? Aren’t you tired?”
He teased as he came down the stairs.
The girls gave him coquettish looks. It’s a hard life. We’ll die of exhaustion one day.
Just then, Sun Ting came in, a blast of cold air with her. Tang Ze shivered.
The sun was out, but it felt colder than last night. “What’s the temperature?”
“About minus twenty.”
Sun Ting exhaled a puff of hot air. It was much better inside. It was freezing and windy outside.
Xi Meng sighed. “I think it will drop to minus forty tonight.”
“How can anyone survive that?”
An Bai said with a pout, looking down at her tank top.
Ye Qingyi, silently loading magazines, frowned. Tang Ze knew why. He had originally planned to leave for Yunhai City today, and they should have already arrived.
“Get ready. We’re going to Yunhai City.”
He patted Ye Qingyi’s head. I, Tang Ze, always keep my promises.
Sure enough, hearing him, Ye Qingyi finally smiled. “Thank you.”
“I prefer actions to words.”
She immediately threw herself at him, wrapping her arms around his neck and giving him a sweet kiss.
This drew a chorus of teasing “oohs” from the other girls.
Sun Ting even shouted, “It seems Yiyi has fallen in love with someone else!”
This made Ye Qingyi chase after her, embarrassed.
Since their numbers had grown, Tang Ze decided to get a new car, but it still had to be comfortable, preferably with a large bed.
Soon, he had settled on an RV.
A double-decker, apocalyptic-style RV, also with tracks, fully autonomous, with a luxurious interior. The first floor was a living room with an entertainment room, a tea room, and even a KTV. Tang Ze had converted the second floor into a spacious bedroom that could accommodate twenty more women, a veritable apocalyptic fortress.
When the RV appeared outside, Li Linger felt as if Tang Ze had Doraemon’s pocket. It was magical.
The other girls were already used to it. Nothing Tang Ze did surprised them anymore.
Although they were still very impressed by the RV.
Getting into the RV, the girls took off their down jackets and enjoyed the warmth. An Bai immediately threw herself onto the soft carpet and rolled around. “This feels like a vacation.”
“Yeah, others are just surviving, but we’re living.”
Sun Ting sighed. She had been so lucky to knock on Tang Ze’s door that day. It was as if God had opened a door to life for her.
