Chapter 60 p1
In the crowded corridor, the two of them held hands, their fingers intertwined.
As a public figure, Meng Jiang’s face was not unfamiliar abroad.
When Qi Sijia had come out of the consultation room earlier, Meng Jiang had pulled down her mask, not having time to cover her face.
They walked shoulder to shoulder, hand in hand. Many gazes were directed their way. Their palms were sticky with sweat. Normally, holding hands without any publicity was not allowed in public.
But she couldn’t be bothered with that. Right now, she didn’t want to let go. As if she were afraid that Qi Sijia would go back on her word, Meng Jiang used her own strength.
Qi Sijia found it a little amusing and asked, “What do you mean, Teacher Meng?”
“It’s exactly what you see,” Meng Jiang didn’t feel embarrassed at all. She raised the corners of her lips, laying her blatant intentions bare. At this moment, she didn’t want to care about anyone’s gaze.
She didn’t care if she was being secretly photographed, or if their relationship was exposed.
Seeing Qi Sijia smiling, Meng Jiang followed suit, but her fingers were held even tighter.
A few finger marks were left on the back of her hand. Qi Sijia’s smile did not change. She rubbed the back of Meng Jiang’s hand with her thumb, not too lightly and not too heavily. She lowered her eyes to look at her and said indulgently, “Then let’s hold hands. What else do you want to do? I’ll do even more outrageous things for you.”
Meng Jiang was stunned. For a moment, her smile was embarrassed. She slightly relaxed her strength and pretended not to reply. Thinking of another matter, she hesitated for a moment and asked, “My airport schedule was made public before… What if a paparazzi comes over? Will it make you feel uncomfortable?”
“It doesn’t matter.”
Qi Sijia interrupted her, cutting her off.
She pushed the glasses that had slipped down onto the bridge of her nose, and the corners of her lips curved up. She actually smiled and took a step forward.
Suddenly, the distance was pulled closer. Her breath sprayed into her collar. Meng Jiang subconsciously shrank back, and her lower back was held by Qi Sijia’s hand, which cushioned her against the wall she was about to hit.
They stood face to face. Behind Meng Jiang were red and white wall tiles, and above them were a few portraits of medical doctors.
There was no way out. Qi Sijia pressed against Meng Jiang’s shoulder. The distance between them was one centimeter. Any lower, and their lips would have touched.
Her breath brushed against the hair on her side profile. Meng Jiang’s eyelashes trembled. She lifted her eyelids and met Qi Sijia’s frank, undisguised, and warm eyes.
This was the first time Qi Sijia had seemed to want to kiss her in public.
In front of everyone, playing so big, Meng Jiang couldn’t quite stand it. Her cheeks flushed in an instant.
Their breaths intertwined, and the air was almost stained with a lingering feeling.
She couldn’t quite stand it and turned her head to the side, looking at Qi Sijia in defeat.
Qi Sijia let out a low laugh. Her lips were next to Meng Jiang’s ear. In a slow and deliberate tone, she said in a low voice, “You said you wanted it last time. It’s not like it’s a new year. I can’t even satisfy this little wish of Teacher Meng’s?”
“Here?” Meng Jiang closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and stared at her toes. There was a hint of an imperceptible nervousness in her tone. “It’s not impossible.”
The daylight behind her was not dim. The sun shower had come unexpectedly, and the light seemed to still be in the clouds.
Qi Sijia looked up and saw Meng Jiang’s fair cheeks stained with a red tide the same color as the sky. She raised her hand and brushed away the slightly damp stray hair on Meng Jiang’s forehead. She did not continue to deliberately lower her voice and speak ambiguously in this person’s ear. She moved her head a little further away and whispered, “It doesn’t matter if others see?”
Meng Jiang’s eyelashes trembled. You could see that she was a little nervous.
Qi Sijia glanced at her, reined in the emotion in her eyes, and decided to let her go.
The warm breath moved away, and the itching impulse in her heart just now seemed to have been drawn away with it. For a moment, Meng Jiang felt a little wistful.
In such an intimate atmosphere, she should have hooked her arm around the other person’s neck and kissed her fiercely.
Just as Jiang Ru had said.
Once her mind recalled its deepest thoughts, she couldn’t help but stare at the most alluring part of the other person. Meng Jiang stared at Qi Sijia’s opening and closing lips, but she didn’t really hear what Qi Sijia was saying.
She didn’t let go of her hand.
Qi Sijia lowered her eyes and met Meng Jiang’s, which were not going to give up until she got some sweetness. After a moment of silence, she directly wrapped her arms around Meng Jiang’s waist and brought her to the stairwell behind her.
The stairwell was empty, and the doors on both sides were closed, completely blocking the gazes that had been on the two of them just now.
Qi Sijia leaned over and pecked Meng Jiang’s lips, a light kiss like a dragonfly touching the water. She had originally not thought of doing anything with Meng Jiang outside. After all, it was a public place, and Meng Jiang was a public figure. When she was emotional, the charming look in her eyes could easily be spread by someone with ulterior motives.
Qi Sijia kissed with restraint, just a touch.
Before Meng Jiang could even feel it, the kiss was over.
Seeing that her hand was still being held tightly, Qi Sijia lowered her eyes and asked, “Still want more?”
Meng Jiang narrowed her eyes, the corners of her eyes curved. She didn’t say anything, just looked at Qi Sijia with a smile.
After a week of not seeing each other, and without saying a few words, her intentions were expressed very clearly. She didn’t hide her thoughts at all. Meng Jiang stared at Qi Sijia and smiled. “Otherwise?”
“I came here to confirm our relationship,” Meng Jiang said with a smile, explaining her purpose.
This answer was too flirty. Without even talking, she wanted to have her first.
After confirming with Meng Jiang, Qi Sijia laughed softly. She called her “sister” in a low voice without any burden. “Aren’t you embarrassed?”
Meng Jiang: “…”
Seeing that she didn’t care about being embarrassed, she hooked her arm around Qi Sijia’s neck and kissed her on the side of her face.
Qi Sijia was amused. She raised her finger and pointed at the surveillance camera in the upper corner of the stairwell. Meng Jiang looked up, moved her feet, and buried her face in Qi Sijia’s shoulder, laughing.
“Then what should we do? We’ve already kissed.”
“What have we kissed?”
Qi Sijia pulled Meng Jiang and stuffed her behind her. The side door to the corner was a blind spot for the surveillance. She was a little taller than Meng Jiang, and when she stood in front of her, she could completely block Meng Jiang’s face and figure.
After doing this, seeing the smile on Meng Jiang’s downward-curving eyes, the corners of her eyes were red.
It was like a hook poking at Qi Sijia’s heart. Qi Sijia pursed her lips, raised her hand, and brushed away the strand of hair that was stuck to Meng Jiang’s head. Her voice was low. “Your reaction is a little unexpected.”
“Then what kind of reaction should I have?” Meng Jiang asked.
“Mmm…” Qi Sijia lowered her eyes, pretending to be seriously thinking. “Surprised? Angry, scared? Silent?”
“None of the above,” Meng Jiang said. “Because it’s not too surprising. You’ve been laying so many clues for me these past few days, both openly and secretly. Now that we’ve met here, what’s there not to understand?”
Qi Sijia met Meng Jiang’s gaze and looked at her deeply.
Being sized up by such a calm gaze, as if she had been seen through in an instant, Meng Jiang smiled frankly. “Alright, there are still some emotions.”
“Just feeling wistful,” Meng Jiang said.
“What?” Qi Sijia unexpectedly lifted her eyelids.
The smile on Meng Jiang’s lips deepened. She was fair, and in the backlight, a layer of dark shadow was cast on her tender white face, making her features all the more exquisite.
Qi Sijia lowered her eyes and saw Meng Jiang’s lips wrapped in a smile. A small finger wrapped around a strand of Qi Sijia’s black hair and twirled it upwards.
The intertwined black and white fingers swayed in front of her eyes, hooking Qi Sijia’s gaze. Meng Jiang said, “I’m not surprised it’s you, Teacher Qi.”
The strand of hair wrapped around Qi Sijia’s chest, and her fingers hovered in that ambiguous position. Meng Jiang curled her lips and asked with charming eyes, “Are all you writers so good at laying clues? The truth was right in front of me, right? In order not to surprise me, you arranged this matter so steadily, and there were so many clues in the past.”
Since their relationship was confirmed, Qi Sijia had said several times that she wanted a slow and steady relationship.
It turned out to be all here.
She was like a poet with superb writing skills. In the stories she had written for Meng Jiang these past few days, she had used up all her clues, not giving her any surprises and letting her catch them steadily, without feeling any surprise at all.
Whether it was the interview that day or the countless kisses that had stopped abruptly.
It was all a deliberate and deep affection.
The way Meng Jiang looked at Qi Sijia was full of softness.
Qi Sijia had nothing to hide, just smiled and didn’t reply. She held her mischievous hand, as if to let her define it however she wanted.
“I said the wrong thing in the car that day.”
Meng Jiang lowered her eyes and did not give Qi Sijia a chance to say it was okay.
She said directly, “Actually, I wasn’t lying. You’ve seen Chen Ting. Although she’s my mom, I wouldn’t necessarily make up a story about her being sick. But she does have a problem. She’s been sick in front of me since she was little. Those concepts were ingrained in her, and I don’t believe from the bottom of my heart that any patient with a mental illness can control their own behavior when they have an episode. But if you have this illness too…”
Meng Jiang paused and looked straight into Qi Sijia’s eyes. “Then forget it. Principles can be abandoned. You make me comfortable, a kind of liking I’ve never had before. Even if I don’t lay so many clues, if you write me as a tragic character, it’s fine with me. The ending will definitely be a circle, and I’ll come back to you.”
“As long as it doesn’t involve life and death, I’m even glad. I’m willing to take a step back and forgive all the desolation this world has brought to you and me.”
Meng Jiang tilted her head slightly and looked at Qi Sijia.
She had actually anticipated the worst-case scenario, until she met Qi Sijia in the consultation room. The last taut string in Meng Jiang’s mind relaxed, and at the same time, she found that there was no better ending than this.
It was like in the cold winter, a scorching snow was falling, landing on her skin, warmer than she had expected.
They looked at each other in the narrow corridor. Qi Sijia’s dark eyes stared at Meng Jiang without blinking.
Someone pushed open the door and went downstairs. Qi Sijia’s gaze did not change. She unobtrusively took a step back and held Meng Jiang in her arms, completely blocking the other person’s gaze on Meng Jiang.
It was as if she were drawing a prison, blocking Meng Jiang behind her. Her dark eyes watched the person go downstairs. The sound of their heels on the concrete steps went from near to far. After his figure had completely disappeared from the corner of the stairs, Meng Jiang was about to break free from Qi Sijia’s fingers and close the fire door.
Qi Sijia suddenly turned around and, with the force of her wrist, pushed Meng Jiang back.
Unexpectedly stumbling back a step, her back hit the door of the stairwell, and a slight pain came from her shoulder blade, making Meng Jiang frown.
“Does it hurt?” Qi Sijia raised her hand and held the spot where Meng Jiang had been hurt. She lowered her head, and her glasses were a little crooked.
Without any intention of straightening them, the lenses reflected a blue light. Her cold eyes, like clouds and frost, lowered and stared at Meng Jiang.
The light entered Qi Sijia’s eyes, and it was surprisingly bright for a moment. The atmosphere that had been abruptly cut off a few minutes ago seemed to have been rekindled. Meng Jiang’s throat was a little dry, and she tentatively licked her sexy lips.
Qi Sijia did not speak again. She lowered her head and went to kiss Meng Jiang, pressing down hard on the pink tip of her tongue that was hanging on her lips.
Meng Jiang was so kissed that half of her body was numb. She was forced to retreat against the door, and with Qi Sijia’s weight on top of her, her back against the side door made a creaking sound.
A door separated them. One step out was a clamor, and one step in was the sound of footsteps spiraling down the stairs.
In the cramped and dim space, it seemed that only the small space where the two of them were standing was completely silent. The daylight seemed to have dimmed all at once, and the field of vision became narrow, leaving only the delicate panting of them exchanging saliva. It rushed into their ears, was infinitely magnified, lingering, soft, broken, and panting.
…
This passionate kiss lasted for what felt like a century. After it ended, Qi Sijia lowered her eyes and told Meng Jiang in a low, hoarse voice that she was going to greet Mike and postpone her afternoon consultation.
But her fingers were held by Meng Jiang and shaken.
Qi Sijia turned back. Meng Jiang laughed like a fox, panting, and said in a charming tone, “You can do your own thing.”
These words were not like Meng Jiang.
She had said she was here to confirm their relationship. It was impossible for her to let Qi Sijia go like this.
Qi Sijia glanced at her and said directly, “I’m not busy.”
“Then you can wait for me here. We’ll have time tonight,” Meng Jiang’s fair side profile was flushed, like a scumbag who had just kissed and hadn’t even wiped away the evidence before leaving.
Qi Sijia looked at her without changing her expression and did not speak.
Meng Jiang knew very well what she meant now. “Are you being coquettish, Teacher Qi?”
After five years of not seeing each other, Meng Jiang had never seen the serious, ascetic, calm, and maturely labeled Qi Sijia show such a petulant look.
The smile on her lips deepened. Meng Jiang softened her tone and explained to Qi Sijia that she was taking Meimei and Jiang Jun to catch their afternoon flight. With that, she pushed Qi Sijia to the studio to help Mike.
Qi Sijia was unmoved, with a “you can explain however you want” attitude.
Blocking the fire hydrant door, Meng Jiang’s eyes curved into a smile, and she coaxed her tentatively, “Just this once, in the future…”
Hearing this, Qi Sijia looked up and glanced at Meng Jiang nonchalantly. Meng Jiang swallowed the rest of her words and said in defeat, “Then… after I send them off, I’ll come back here immediately and wait for you to get off work. You can also let me experience the feeling of picking up my girlfriend and going home, okay?”
The two of them looked at each other for a few seconds. If Meng Jiang really wanted to coax someone, she could say those sweet nothings without even stammering, both elegantly and pleasantly, with a lazy and charming tone. It was impossible not to soften one’s heart.
After she finished, Qi Sijia looked away and nodded silently.
…
